So, to me, the only right answer in this kind of mistake is, "Wow, sorry to hear that, no idea how that could have happened, how can we make it right?" And I'd have suggested give my dad SOME amount of refund. I don't even much care how much, $10, $20, just make an effort, you know? But no. No adjustment. Empower your receptionist to offer SOMEthing. So, thumbs-up for a having a warranty, but thumbs-down for not fessing up to your mistake.

The issue began when the city notified us of an excessive water bill and identified a potential leak. In response, we contacted Innovative Leak Detection for assistance. The technician, (Brayden) was clearly unprepared and not properly equipped to complete the job. Brayden did not investigate the specific issue we reported and instead had us perform several checks ourselves. No resolution was provided, and Brayden left without identifying the source of the leak. After this unsatisfactory visit, I attempted to contact Lucy the office manager several times via voicemail and email, all of which went unanswered. When I finally spoke with Lucy, she questioned the city's findings and directed me to reach out to them again--despite the city already confirming there was a leak. At Lucy's insistence, the city returned to our property three additional times, including replacing the water meter. At her request, I also sent Lucy a video from the city supporting the presence of a leak, which was ignored. Additionally, during our conversation, Lucy requested that I repeat a series of checks on our toilets--checks we had already performed per previous instructions. Even after explaining this, Lucy insisted we do them again, which only delayed the process further. Eventually, after getting no further support, I contacted your office from a separate phone line and reached Coleman who was exceptional, professional, apologetic, and scheduled a follow-up visit right away. During that second visit, we pointed out the exact same issue we originally reported--and Coleman found the problem immediately. This clearly confirms that the issue was both detectable and should have been addressed during the first visit with Brayden. Despite the mishandling of the initial service and multiple follow-ups required due to Lucy and Braydens negligence, we were billed twice for a job that was not completed correctly the first time. To make matters worse, I specifically requested to speak with one of the two owners--Mark Dayley--and have yet to receive any return call or acknowledgment. This lack of response from leadership only compounds our frustration. To summarize: * Brayden was unprepared, did not check the reported issue, and left the problem unresolved. * Lucy dismissed the city's findings, ignored my communications, and failed to follow up appropriately. * The city was called out unnecessarily multiple times at Lucy's insistence. * A video confirming the issue was ignored. * Coleman was EXCEPTIONAL and ultimately resolved the problem we had originally identified. * We were billed twice for a service that should have been completed on the first visit. * A request to speak with owner Mark Dayley has gone unanswered. When the scheduled day came, there was bad weather with snow / ice, and the scheduled plumber wasn't able to make it. The guys kept in touch with me all morning re: status of schedule, and Mike ended up coming out himself to do the work. He did a great job, within the estimated time at the estimated cost. I value the responsiveness, high quality work by Journeyman plumbers, and their being just nice folks! This is a family-owned business, passed down through generations. We needed a hot water heater to replace a broken one. American Plumbing Services installed the…read morewrong kind of water heater. It looked like a sloppy job (see pictures) and the workers were very rude. When we asked questions, the owner of the company threatened us. We paid the company in full the very next day, just to put the whole thing behind us. But almost immediately we started to notice an odor, which started in the water heater area and progressively got worse throughout the house. It became so bad we finally called NW Natural Gas to come out. Sure enough NW Natural Gas determined that there was "major spillage" of exhaust into our home as a result of the work this company did. NW Natural Gas proceeded to turn off our gas service to the water heater and Red Tagged it (see pictures) leaving us without hot water. We had an inspection performed on the water heater by the City Of Portland Bureau Of Development. The inspection results confirmed that American Plumbing Services did not perform the work to code. We still needed a working hot water heater. So we chose to have the repair work done by a different plumbing company - one not associated with American Plumbing Services - for the commercially reasonable price (multiple bids were acquired) of $1,850. We sent Anthony Johnston, the owner of American Plumbing Services, a certified letter explaining these facts, enclosed a copy of the chosen plumbing company's receipt for $1,850, and we asked for the $1,850 to be reimbursed. The owner of American Plumbing Services responded with a short phone message saying he "disagreed" with the letter and would not be sending us the reimbursement check as we requested. When we called him back, he reiterated he wouldn't send us the check and declared: "You don't have that many options available." American Plumbing Services chose to dodge responsibility for their mess. We're very unhappy with them.

At first I thought it was the dishwasher not draining, but it turned out to be a broken pipe underneath the kitchen sink cabinet. I called RotoPro Plumbing, and they immediately walked me through shutting off the water to prevent further damage. Their response time was incredible--a technician arrived within an hour.(and we live in a rural area) He quickly diagnosed the issue, cut out a 9x10 section of the cabinet base to access the pipe, and replaced the damaged part efficiently. Everything was handled professionally and with urgency, which I truly appreciated given the situation. What stood out even more was the extra guidance--he recommended installing a metal access door for future access, which we've already found and plan to install.
