Roger came into my home knowing I needed a simple repair and immediately started talking about…read moreripping through my walls and rewiring my house. The original number he came up with was something like 25K (for a call about a light switch). We seemed to have reached some sort of agreement; and since I'm facilitating selling my mother's house, I got them in touch. Things seemed fine with the lesser fix of 2K. Two weeks before the house goes on the market, I text him and he tells me verbatim "I'm not fixing your electric". Pièce de ré·sis·tance, he blocks my number. 1. My mom & stepfather flew out from CA and fixed the problem in about two hours (along with a bunch of other things him and his buddy Austin left halfway finished: those took several days). 2. I don't think Roger's even a licensed electrician, and if he is, he needs to go back to school. 3. And wouldn't ya know it, he charged me $150 to do less than nothing--He pulled out wires and plates, ripped off part of my door frame for some reason, and then just left them for me to deal with. I wouldn't let this guy anywhere near my house again.

Roger was helpful and straightforward about adding a dishwasher to our kitchen. It's a completely functional fix until we're ready to do a full remodel.

If you live in the Clarence/East Amherst/Williamsville area and you need work done in your home and…read moreBrian at Two Ells isn't the first person you contact, you are doing it wrong. This dude does it right, does it well, and does it for reasonable prices. He works clean and is honest and trustworthy. If you hire him once it's pretty much a guarantee you will hire him again because he is really good at what he does. My 1st floor bathroom was devastatingly brown. Brown tile floor, brown wood vanity. Why would anyone choose to make a bathroom the color of poop I cannot reconcile to myself. I have been annoying my husband for two years since we moved in to the house with my rants about it. This year I convinced him to let me spend some of our tax return on changing that. Thanks to my raging addiction to HGTV I knew exactly what I wanted to do in there and contacted Brian about my vision in mind. He is the most laid back dude, super chill and easy to work with. Brian does beautiful tile work, he made some very helpful suggestions about the tile and how to lay it so it would look the nicest. Aside from the tile work, he also changed out the shower head, replaced the vanity sink and installed faucets and a new backsplash, replaced the mirror, light fixture and toilet. Oh! And he hung up some shelves and changed the light above the shower. He did an amazing job. My husband was very happy with the changes that were made, his only negative was "This is so nice now the rest of the house looks like crap". Ha! Sounds like he's challenging me to think of new projects to hire Brian for. Two Ells for the win!

Back in the Spring when my family needed to hire someone to renovate our crumbling bathroom, I…read moreturned to Yelp to ask who knew a good contractor for this kind of work. Kelly B recommended Brian at Two Ells. I called him that day, left a message. He returned the message that day and we set up a time for an estimate. I love prompt responsiveness, and right off the bat, I had a good feeling about Brian. My parents haven't had any major work done in their 1980-built house since they moved in, circa 1984. Partly because they didn't want to spend the money and partly because it can be difficult finding an honest, affordable contractor, which has to do with the first reason really. Two of the several things I'm super grateful for regarding the way Brian works are his honesty and his ability to see projects in a cost-effective way. He is also extremely patient. My Mom had some health issues arise during our plans and Brian was so patient with us and having to push the date back (& our slacking on picking out materials, mostly because my mom is a perfectionist procrastinator). While we were waiting on the bathroom finalization, Brian painted our upstairs hallway and our family room and did a great job. He also replaced all of the gross fluorescent tube lighting in our kitchen and powder room with recessed lighting. I swear if you can only change one thing in a house built in the 70's-80's, the upgrade in lighting will make a WORLD of difference. My parents home only has one shower so it was VITAL that the tub and shower tile work was done relatively quickly. Brian and Bryce had the tub, tiles, and fixtures installed and ready to be used in 3.5 days. We were blown away with how quickly they worked and how beautiful the tile work turned out. The remainder of the bathroom work (new floor, new toilet, new lighting, painting, new doors, new vanity and counter top) took about 7-8 work days, at the most. We had a delay in getting the vanity and counter top from the materials supplier, but Brian checked in every couple of days to let us know what was going on. The project altogether probably took about 10 days. To remodel a full bathroom. Yay! I highly recommend Two Ells. Their pricing for our projects was SUPER reasonable and Brian is a really good, honest guy. He had great communication with us throughout our projects. We had estimates from a couple of other contractors initially but we got the best feeling from Brian and knew he was the man for our job! We look forward to working more with him in the future! It disappoints me to see so many of the reviews for this business filtered because I'm sure they are legit. Brian deserves all of that praise for the quality work he does. Thanks Brian! We'll see ya' soon! :D

Aaron and Gabe just completed a full bathroom remodel for us after we had a leak behind the wall…read more Our bathroom was over 80 years old and the demo alone was a huge undertaking. They worked all day, five days a week, and finished the project on time. They made the project feel easy, from beginning to end. Our finished main bath is exactly how I pictured it- BEAUTIFUL! They had a fair quote that was similar to the other quotes we got. Along with the quote came a full explanation of what the project would include and a breakdown of the costs. In the end, the costs turned out exactly what they originally quoted. They were also able to start work sooner than anyone else, and were even able to start a week sooner than we originally thought. They take great care in your home and were not only very clean (cleaned every single day before they left), but they really went the extra mile to protect our floors and stairs from the bathroom to the front door. We were out of town for the first week of demo and came home to a clean house! If it weren't for the tons of padding they placed to protect our wood floors, you wouldn't have even known that we were under construction. They were careful, clean, and paid attention to all of the details. Our project was extensive and included a full demo, new floors, drywall, tub, medicine cabinet, new lights, fan, tile- you name it, we got it. Aaron and Gabe discussed what we wanted in detail, not only at the beginning, but throughout the process. I made a few changes in the middle of the work (not recommended, of course), but they were very patient with us. They recommended products that we didn't know existed, two of which turned out to be my favorite things about my new bath (the shelf behind the tub and the glass door). If Aaron and Gabe don't do it, they can recommend someone who can. Initially, we had our own plumber and had a major issue with horrendous work. Aaron and Gabe recommended a plumber who turned out to be amazing. Our electrician quoted a very high price, but Aaron and Gabe were able to recommend an electrician for a fair price. The wall finisher (not sure of the exact title) was incredible. He was able to do some patchwork to our first floor (under the bathroom, where the leak was) as well as doing the skim coat on the new drywall. He really does very beautiful work! Lastly, Aaron and Gabe are just very nice guys. They communicate extremely well, are caring and kind, are hard workers, and are extremely trustworthy. We look forward to working with them on our next project!
