We owe much of this opportunity to our realtor Damian Albert who walked with us from the very beginning of our search, when we only had a vague idea of what kind of property we were looking for, down to the last conversation we had following our close at the title company office. Homebuying in an inflated market is absolutely a roller coaster ride of emotions. But what we appreciated about Damian was his professionalism, calm, and attention to detail through each phase of the process. Being new to homebuying, we had little idea of what to expect or how the process worked. But Damian took the time to explain the steps to us in a way that was clear and was quick to return calls when we had questions. Early in the process, Damian was prompt in scheduling showings and was thorough in pointing out features and themes to look for, when it came to good signs or red flags concerning features of properties. As we begun to narrow down the most important characteristics we were looking for in a future home, we did not feel rushed or pressured to make a decision. Damian was never prescriptive in giving us advice, but urged us to be patient with ourselves to ensure that we would feel comfortable with whatever decisions we came to. By the time we were ready to make an offer, Damian counseled us on how to approach the situation out of both his experience and with empirical market research. He provided recommendations for home inspection, financing, and legal representatives and helped us negotiate with a tough seller to close the deal. If you are looking for an experienced realtor who cares about not just his own bottom line, but deeply about people and communities, we would highly recommend Damian.

For a first time homebuyer, purchasing a home can be a daunting and intimidating task (Or so I've…read moreheard). Not to mention, purchasing one in the midst of a pandemic where the interest in homeownership has skyrocketed causing a record-breaking decrease in inventory coupled with inflated prices to match. This was the situation when my wife and I entered the market on 12/23/20 in search of our new home in the Galewood area of Chicago's Austin community. We were very ambitious buyers with a relatively limited budget. This means we wanted all the amenities like specific location, sizable square footage, move-in ready with modern finishes, and a big backyard with a garage but for the best value possible. Thankfully for us, our realtor is a realist. Damian's pragmatic approach to aiding us in our search was not only helpful, it was ideal. During our search, we toured 9 properties in 46 days. Just under half of those checked our wish list for the desired location. If the property had one thing it was missing another and new listings were far and in between. Our hope was to find the right home before the summer but success was proving to be more challenging than we thought. However, Damian was encouraging throughout and most of all - patient. Whenever we went to view a property, he always seized the opportunity to educate us about the fine points of homeownership and the many factors we needed to consider short and long-term. When he wasn't showing us properties, he was sending us examples to view so we could continue to increase our understanding on what home would best suit our family. This is what ultimately led us to make an offer and successfully purchase the first home on our tour list he curated. Damian's knowledge and experience provided us with just enough guidance to make a difficult and weighty decision, logical and clear. This made our experience as first time homebuyers delightful and memorable. Today, we are enjoying our new home and couldn't be happier with our purchase. This wouldn't have been possible without the right realtor. Whether you are a first time buyer like us or looking to purchase another property, Damian's attention to detail, thorough analysis, and professionalism makes him an ideal realtor for today's housing market.

Debbie has sold most of the unites in our condo building and that's how we got to know her, she seems to be able to sell really quick at a fairly good price. So we hired her to help us sell our condo and also look for a new house. She was patient with our house searching and directed us to the right neighborhood based on our price range. We eventually found a nice house that match almost everything we asked for before the baby arrived! It was a pretty popular house at the time and she was able to help us negotiate and nail down the deal smoothly. I also appreciate that she recommended a floor company to us in short notice and they did a really good job (we had a floor guy but he wasn't able to accommodate our time frame). She also helped us find a moving company who did an awesome job with very reasonable price, our move was painless considering it's with 2 young kids and parents. After we moved, we needed to put our condo on the market right away, she was able to get an offer 6 weeks after our condo being on the market and helped us negotiate the sale price as well as items that come out of the inspection. It was again a smooth process. It was very exciting moving on to our new life and Debbie and her team has helped make this happen. I would recommend her and her team to anyone who is looking to buy or sell. She especially has tremendous knowledge on the properties in the Chicago city.

Excuse me, who are you reprsenting!? Also, on my final walk through...she was annoyed that I caught a few things that had NOT been repaired according to the sales contract. Luckily my real estate attorney forced the sellers to escrow the money for repairs at closing, so I did not get screwe over...but had it been up to my agent I'd have just shut my mouth and closed the deal so she could get the comission. My agent was so...unambitious, unassertive, un real estate agent-like. I kept asking around at how much experience she had, thinking she MUST BE new. No dice, she had 10 years of experience and still had no answers to my questions, and constantly having to get back to me after she talked with the boss. It's like, how do you not know these things!? Or...anything for that matter!? Needless to say, I will do much more research when I find my next agent. I chalk it up to naivete and youth, and I will not make the same mistake again. They do have a nice office...but that's the only positive I can think of.

It has been over a month since the end of my lease, and they never returned my money. Only after I posted a Google review, they said the parking remote was broken. How would I have moved my car out of a gated parking spot without a functioning remote? When living there, I had dirty water filling up my sink and overflowing onto the wooden floors due to a plumbing issue related to another unit in the building. It took Miller two weeks to send a plumber to fix the issue. I was putting towels down to avoid damage to the floors but the water was non-stop. I was washing my dishes in the tub for two weeks. As seen in the attached photos, I warned them that there would be inevitable water damage from this. I quickly noticed the water damage due to their delay in fixing the plumbing issue. I documented this in the portal with pictures. The portal request, texts, calls and emails went unanswered for months. When I finally got ahold of Andrea Miller on the phone, she told me that the water damage was my fault! She told me to contact my renters insurance, saying the repair was my responsibility! When I demanded flooring contractors to inspect the damage, the contractors laughed and said this was fully the responsibility of Miller management. The damage to my flooring was fixed TEN MONTHS after the plumbing issue. My rent was even raised during this time.
