done it twice. 24 min at Texas and 48 at Las Vegas. Texas was better simply because you could hear and understand the spotter. LV spotter had a gruff voice that was hard to understand. 163 mph at Texas and 167 at LV. I think it could have been better at LV if communication from spotter was better. lots of fun at both places. well worth the money. Probably going to do the advanced in May at Texas. At the time of booking, the prices went up $200+ and to pay the difference for that time of ride. She can do the 8 minute instead with no pay difference. Big letdown! read more

It was a long evening but overall I think it was worth it. We were advised that it would be a busy day when Charlene booked us in. She let us know that we could expect to be here until 8pm potentially, and we were. Our start time was 5:00 and we arrived at 4:30 for check in with Sherry and all that jazz. You watch a safety video which is important to understand what to expect. This isn't a free for all event. The complaints about not being able to do what you wanted car and speed wise is a personal problem. Although everyone likes to say they "race" a majority of those visiting have never gone 150mph let alone 100mph. The rules are to prevent you from crashing that car and dying. I used to track my car and participated in canyon runs when I lived in California. I have never driven over 110mph. 144 was my top speed and goodness that was WILD. The top allowed speed for my session was 150mph. We were finally able to drive around 7:30. We were the last two to drive. I drive manuals only so for me I was able to hop in, follow the instructions and go. My Husband wanted to try his hand at getting going on his own but I guess due to the long day they pushed him off from 4th gear. At first he wasn't upset about it but then we he found out they also didn't put in his video, he was pretty upset when we left. We were gifted the video packages which was awesome, sadly only one of us left happy. The next day he still felt like it was a good experience, he personally felt like he didn't get the experience he was expecting. I had a great time. If you can book an EARLY time. I don't regret booking the 5pm session because we actually got to drive with the track fully lit up like a nighttime race was going on. I'm retired race car driver experience motocross,SCCA formula atlantic,Midget ovals a few Sprint car rides,SCCA sedan cars (champion 1987) and a cple Legend car wins later in life. 70 yrs young Paid for 3 lap drive at Daytona waited all day but thats acceptable .I was put in #43 car kept getting asked if I knew how to drive stick shift after telling the guy I ran Formula cars and Gt cars .He decided I needed a cushion behind me ( Im 5'10") That made the race seat very uncomfortable on my rib cage Rushed me out before I could get settled.I ran the laps helmet bouncing on my head,Rev limiter cutting in at 4800 RPM ,spotter in my ear telling me I can go faster Was very disconcerting had one good lap.I was very disappointed will not recomend.By the way kicking car in neutral coming into pits is a bit sketchy no control. read more

Very disappointed with the Daytona Driving Experience. Years ago, I was gifted the driving experience for a birthday present and I drove 6 laps following a high speed, professionally driven pace car. In addition, I purchased the ride along at a discounted price which was also 6 laps. Both were great and plenty of time on the track. Now, both are advertised as 3 laps each. The lap pulling out of the pit is counted as a lap and the cool down lap after 1 lap is counted, therefore; both experiences are actually 1 lap at speed. I recently had 2 separate parties travel from St. Louis and Nashville to do the driving experience and ride along. What a disappointment to discover that after traveling so far, both experiences were only 1 lap on the track. I was so embarrassed to see the looks on peoples faces when the drivers got out of the cars. Of course, the tracks explanation or disclaimer is if you would have given us more money we would not have given you such a disappointing experience. So sad. read more

My wife purchased the 8 minute experience for me in Jun 2020 for Fathers Day at a cost of $358.99. The certificate clearly states that it "never expires" nor is there any clause that prices are subject to change. I finally got around to using it in June 2023 (3 yrs later) and when I made the reservation I was informed that prices had went up and it would be an additional $140 for 8 minutes. I explained the no expiration, no subject to price change but to no avail. They finally agreed to give me a 10% discount to keep it at 8 minutes (instead of 5) Prorated it cost me an extra $91.99 for a total of $450.98. So I'm a little ticked already. The cars have a rev limiter that limits your RPM's to 4000 to start and progressing 200 each lap you hit your marks from the spotter. I was hitting about 5200 rpm's on my 5th and final lap. I was issued a certificate stating I reached a speed of 143.26 mph which was absolutely hog wash. My lap times were about 51 seconds which translate to about 108mph on a 1.5 mile track. I enjoyed the laps but was disappointed in the customer service and the inflated speed certificate. Just be aware before booking your experience. read more

Head's up! This is a mixed review. We went to the Charlotte Motor Speedway yesterday for my husband to do the Checkered Flag Experience for our anniversary. We arrived as instructed yesterday at 1120 for check-in for our 1200 reservation. We were promptly greeted and my husband was checked in, suited, photographed and sold the "better package" which includes complete video of his three sessions, a plaque, a shirt and hat. It was fair in my opinion. We didn't have to wait long before we were in a room with the instructor Drake. The informative session was really well done. He kept good time too. Shortly after everything was wrapped up we were taken to the track. Once we were at the track we saw that there was a rather large company function of at least 30 people waiting around to drive. My husband didn't get to a car for 2 hours! In my opinion this was very poor time management on NASCAR's part. Our reservation time should have been later due to the rather large group ahead of us. We just sat on the side in sweltering heat waiting with no fans or fresh cold water. This was miserable and disappointing. Even made me kinda sick from being so hot. However, my husband thoroughly his driving experience. He topped out at 156 mph and did really really well! His spotter was great and told my husband how maximize his speed without hitting the governor. He really helped to make my husband's performance and experience the best. Definitely worth the money for the Checkered Flag Experience as he wound up having a total of 24 laps. We got phenomenal footage of his drive which was totally worth the extra money. Checkout afterwards was quick and easy too. I do also want to note that everyone was very friendly and helpful. Staff was on par. You should know how to drive a manual transmission too! My husband has plenty of experience with our Corvette, so it was super easy for him. Plus there are only 4 gears! You're in 4th gear by the time you exit the pit. However, there were a few poor guys that could barely get the car out of the pit because they couldn't drive manual transmission. This holds everything up for everyone. Not fun. Now if NASCAR could learn better time management skills, that would be great! Even offer cold refreshments to those who have to wait extremely long periods due to their lack of time management skills. read more

I thought the "Experience" would be maybe meeting racecar drivers, seeing the area where they work on the cars, etc. It's basically arriving, checking in, watch a video (which I guess we could have done at home before we even arrived), get a suit handed to you. Due to sprinkling/rain, our 9:00am time was "paused". We were not able to reschedule for another day. Literally told if we leave "you lose your money". Staff completely unsympathetic. One of the lady's working the check in table, must have said at least 3x "the owner lives in Vegas and he wants his money" when people would question why they couldn't reschedule for another time. They didn't care that many of us drove 2 hours or more to get there. We were basically held hostage for hours. It finally cleared up, Hundreds of people are back outside (due to staff not telling people as they continued to come in the door, that because it was raining, the track was closed). So now you have all these people swarming around the area to get in line for the cars. In the mean time, we are all watching cars breaking down as they took them out to see if they would work. Finally after over 8 hours of waiting, our son gets to get into an Indy car, they push him off, only for it to sputter, and die. He has to get out of the car. He didn't even make it out of Pit row. They have to push the car back and work on it. It begins to sprinkle again, track gets shut down. After another 45 minutes it was finally determined that the morning times could be rescheduled!!! I will never ever recommend this to anyone. For the hundreds of dollars it costs it is not worth it. read more

I really want to give them more stars. I did an 8 AM session at Charlotte. I added more segments (3 eight minute segments for 24 minutes total) to get up to 5400 RPM, meaning more speed. Yes, you don't automatically get top speed, or even anywhere near it. You have to buy more segments to get more RPMs, meaning more speed, Check in was fine except for printer issues. Safety video was good. Just me and one other person, so waiting for cars wasn't an issue. Suit up and out to the track. My first 8 minute segment the radio was worthless. Spotter was completely static and I couldn't understand him. New helmet for me, new radio for spotter. My in car camera also didn't work, so no video from segment 1. They replaced the camera. During that segment, I thought I was hitting the rev limiter constantly. But I was intentionally keeping it below the limit, and the car kept missing. Segment 2, car kept missing and backfiring on the back stretch. Spotter kept telling me to quit letting off the gas. I wasn't letting off the gas! The car kept spitting and sputtering. Segment 3, car actually shuts off on the back stretch. Spotter has now really pissed me off accusing me of letting off the gas. I'm screaming into the radio that it's the car, not me. They bring me in, and the head mechanic said it was a fuel pump issue. They got me out of the car and fixed it. They gave me another 8 minute segment. Backstory-At the beginning of each segment, the first lap is limited to 4,000 RPM. (Boring!) Then, assuming you do well, they increase it 200 RPM each lap. Because I paid for 24 minutes, my maximum RPM was 5400. Except, because the car kept misfiring, I never went fast enough for them to let me go above 5000 RPM to 5400 RPM, which is what I paid for. And each segment, they start you over at 4,000 RPM. BULLCRAP! My 4th segment, when the car finally ran right, I did finally get to the 5400 RPM for the last 2 laps. That's what I paid for! I should have been happy, but that just made me realize how badly the first 3 segments were, and that I did not get what I paid for. I appreciate the free 4th segment. If not for it, this would be a 1 star review. But I still feel like I didn't get what I paid for. I absolutely hate the tiered RPM situation. If I went 5,000 one segment, then the next should start there, not back at 4,000. When I went to the merchandise trailer to check out, they didn't have my certificate. The printer was broken. . No idea what my lap times or speeds were. They'll mail me the certificate. When I got home and looked at the video (they give it to you on a SD card), there was only video from the 3rd segment. Nothing from segments 1, 2, or 4. I know it was the 3rd segment because that's the segment the car completely shut off during, and you can hear it in the video. That was expensive for just 1 segment of video! I definitely wouldn't buy it again. As for the staff, they were all extremely friendly. The check in manager dude, the crew chief, even the helmet issuers. This was a bucket list item for me. Something I've always wanted to do before I die. Well, that time is getting near, and although I completed this bucket item, the bucket had a hole in it. Overall, I'm disappointed. If they hadn't given me the 4th segment where I finally got up to speed, I'd be extremely angry. Personally, I feel they owe me 2 more good segments, but that won't happen. read more

I went to the Texas Motor Speedway Nascar experience (3 laps). Overall, this is a fantastic experience - ONLY because of the driver and actual ride itself. They would have easily received 5 stars if it was not for the lack of directions & logistics issues. Pros: 1. The drivers are amazing and really give you a fast driving experience - safe and thrill inducing at the same time. 2. The experience itself was incredible and indescribable - the excitement of driving fast, taking tight curves at high speeds, and getting close to the wall. Loved it. Areas of improvement: 1. For the Texas Motor Speedway, they sent inaccurate directions and the blue trailer was actually blocked by a building and not visible from the parking area. Additionally, NO ONE that works there even knows what you are talking about when you say "Nascar driving experience." The police started helping me and we asked 35 local workers and no one knew what or where it was -- it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to find the check in. 2. At check-in, I told the representative and no one could find them and they became very defensive -- clearly indicating that many others had told the individual the same thing. 3. Additionally, they booked the experience when there was a huge, major event going on, which they should not have done, because it made finding check in even more difficult 4. My appointment was at 2 pm (I got there at 1:47 pm - luckily, even though it took me 1 hour and 15 minutes to actually find the check in trailer, I was there super early and therefore, still not late to my appointment). However, they were really behind schedule when I arrived and I did not actually get into a car until 3:11 pm. Overall, the experience itself is FANTASTIC, but they have several operational, logistic, and directional challenges read more

I was excited for this experience but really should have done a bit of digging before hand, i temporarily forgot that experiences like this in America are catered to avoiding being sued by someone, subsequently you get an overkill of safety that unfortunately takes out all the thrill of driving a race car. This is no more exhilarating than driving an average power vehicle round a parking lot, of course, you can pay more money and make your way up to more power, but if you think your going to be handed the keys and have someone record your lap times think again. This is for the faint hearted, if you have race experience, this will be tame and unforfilling I would spend your money on a simulator, you'll get a lot more time and your skills will be tested to the same amount. What an amazing time! They are so professional! I was able to ride in and drive a stock car at Charlotte Motor Speedway! This was so fun! They had a class and got us prepared to go up to 150 mph! We went out and greeted by professional staff We got seated shortly after and went out! There were about three cars on the track, they let us pass! The most fun ever. If you are experienced driver you will want advanced session rookie and practice is for first timers. The only regret I have is that I didn't buy more time! The video is great as well!! read more

My sons and I thought this would be a great experience for my husband, their dad. He is an avid Nascar fan so we thought it would be a great anniversary gift. It was an awesome, we were not disappointed. He enjoyed it so much that we actually were able to have him do it a second time a couple years later. There are things you can buy after the drive to remember the experience such as a framed photo and a zip drive of the drive. I've done the Rookie Racing Experience at the Kansas Speedway 3 times. It's the thrill of a lifetime for me! The first time was 10 years ago with different owners of the Racing Experience. The pro riding with me said we got up to 160 mph. Last month I booked it again. No rider with you, you are on your own with a spotter talking to you through an ear piece in your helmet. They said the cars had a chip in them to hold the rpm's to 5000, around 150 mph max. My car topped out at 4800 rpms and I was only able to get 143mph out of it. On my review I told them how professional everyone was at the track and how it was still a thrill at 143 but I wish the car was faster. They gave me a FREE booking to drive again! I booked about a month later, drove a different car that tacked out at 5000 rpms. I got up to 153 mph! Very satisfied and would recommend driving at the Kansas Speedway. Oh, my FREE booking date was cancelled due to rain. The rebooking was easy and simple. I feel sorry for folks flying in to drive and find the weather isn't cooperating. I live 40 minutes from the KS Speedway. read more

The person responsible has not returned my call. Why a refund? I'm 75 and have new health concerns and will be having a medical procedure performed in the spring. Maybe a 3-4 month recovery. They did offer a credit, but, hey, who knows what my situation will be in the coming months. I would like to hear from them to reach a solution. They cancelled twice. I can't really give a review of the experience as we have yet to experience it. We purchased the ride along at Daytona Speedway with video and hat for my husband for Christmas. Since we live in Canada, we packed our trailer and drove down to Florida to stay for a few days. My husband was so excited! We arrived at the track and after parking was able to spend some time watching the cars race around! The more cars went by the more excited and happy he got. Then we went to sign in. It was raining at the airport and they were going to stop driving. He was so close! Only a few minutes from his time. Then we sat and waited to see if it would stop and dry up, but it didn't, so they cancelled. Just rebook they said. REBOOK? We live in Canada! Who knows when we will be able to make a drive like that again. I do understand that weather happens, but I feel like they should build a rain day into the drive days. If they are there for thee days, have a fourth day for those folks who come from a distance and can't easily rebook. And of course that is the only choice, as there are no refunds. So my husbands gift will remain in limbo until we have the time and funds to make the trip again. So disappointed when it is such an easy fix to build a backup rain day into the schedule. Didn't know what to expect. I enjoy racing so I signed up for the for the World Champion package. All I can say is, if you can sign up for the largest package. I had 48 minutes on the track. This is a great experience if you have never been on a racetrack before. I have 30+ years of track experience with the Porsche Club of America and I am one of their drivers education instructors. For me, the limits and controls that are put on the participants were too great. I understand the concern for safety but there was no attempt to understand the participants driving experience. They had to pack foam mats in the seat to allow the peddles to be reached. They had an issue with the car and after the first lap signaled a pit stop to address it which came off of the 8 minutes of time booked. All together, 8 minutes resulted in two laps and nothing else. This was a fun event; though, for me it wasn't that exciting because I have professionally motorcycles professionally, so I know what going fast on a racetrack is. To the average person...they would feel like they are FLYING...but to me, this was no faster than "yellow/caution flag" speed. I would compare the maximum speed to the first time "at speed" on a racetrack during my race school, when I felt like I was going so fast that I wouldn't make turn one...then the instructor passed me on the OUTSIDE, with one hand on his handlebars, looking backwards at me over his shoulder. At that point, I knew there was much more speed available...and you will never see that kind of speed at the NASCAR Racing Experience. Each time you do an event, or if you do one of the premium events with multiple track sessions, the workers will gradually raise the rev limiter, allowing you to get more top speed. Even so...you're still only going about 70-75% of real race speed AT A MAXIMUM. read more

I purchased a groupon for my husband for Christmas to do the Nascar Racing experiece. It cost me $184 for a 5 minute drive. Because of Covid we did not make it there before the groupon expired on June 10th. I called the Nascar Racing Experience hoping they would still honor the groupon with covid 19 and everything going on right now i thought they might still honor the groupon. Guess what. No they won't. They said it would cost me an additional $199 plus another $40 insurance for my husband to take a 5 minute drive. I can't believe how a company can do this. I will never buy another Groupon again and obviously my husband will not get to drive that car. Shame on you Nascar Racing experience. You know you also closed for a while during this Covid. I booked this experience as a surprise for my friend's 40th birthday. Other friends drove up from Florida, and I flew down from New York, to meet in Charlotte and surprise our friend. In the week leading up the team seemed great, they called to confirm our reservation, and helped adjust things as needed. Then the day before they called to see if we could move our time slot up earlier, as they said there may be light rain late in the day. We moved the time up as early as we could to hustle over there as soon as I'd land. I explicitly asked what would happen if there was rain, if there was any chance of cancellation, told them I was flying down, and that it was a big surprise. They said no, we'd just have to wait a bit, they'd get us out there. It wouldn't be cancelled. As soon as I landed I had a voicemail that it was cancelled. The person I spoke with after I got the voicemail had no idea who the three other people I had spoken to during the week were, was rude, did not apologize, and said that the track staff had gone home for the day. It was 11am, and wasn't drizzling. And of course, no refund. Look, safety first. If they felt it wasn't safe to drive, then I get it. But it's not cheap, or easy, to book flights, drive up, get hotels, all for nothing, based on bad information given to me by the company reps, and to not offer a refund. So I'm sure this might be an awesome experience. But it is definitely not an awesome company. I'm out 250 bucks. If you book, I hope it's sunny for you. read more

The others rescheduled and guess what they cancelled their second appointment. This review is really about the customer service, as we've never made it to driving the car. We booked at the experience in Atlanta over the summer. Arrived on time, went through the whole process where staff was ok, but certainly not up to the level you'd expect after paying $600 for the experience (after coupons). My husband got cut in front of in line to actually drive by multiple people who had later reservations than him. It was not well-organized. By the time he was next to drive, on a 100 degree Atlanta day with our kids and me all waiting with him, we had been there over four hours. Then, a thunderstorm came and it we had torrential rain. It was quite obvious to all of us watching this storm that no one was going back out on the track. Yet, they insisted we all stay and wait until they officially called off the day. "The track might dry" they said as rain pounded down. We waited another 90 minutes before they admitted we weren't driving. No refunds, so we rescheduled for three months later when they would next be at the track. That reschedule day is tomorrow. 100% chance of rain all day tomorrow. I called customer service and explained that obviously we would be rained out, but we didn't want to drive down there (90 minutes away) to be told it was rained out, so I asked if they would cancel ahead of time. I was told no, that we would have to go because "the weather might change". I get that weather forecasts are unreliable, but the attitude I heard on the phone was really not cool. Again, a luxury experience deserves more than Walmart service. Later today, we got an email that in fact yes, they are canceling tomorrow. I appreciate very much that they saved us the trouble tomorrow. However, it confirms that my call to customer service was perfectly reasonable, and the agent's response that much more obnoxious. At this point, we really just want to be done with the whole thing and get a refund. The allure of the experience has worn off after all this trouble and crummy service. Instead of a refund, we were given a voucher to use in the future. I would much rather a refund. read more

We did the Daytona track and we had a blast!! Staff was amazing. If I had to say something negative it would just be the wait for your turn took a while and you had your gear on quite a bit in advance (helmet) and that our photo we did was so dark you could barely see us in the car but I would definitely do it again. read more

For those of you repeat Richard Petty Driving Experience drivers that are used to going fast with a right seat instructor coaching you, I need to warn you of the changes in their racing program since they were recently acquired by NASCAR Racing Experience. I completed a so called "Experience of a Lifetime" (that wasn't believe me) at Kentucky Speedway in August. This was the 16th different NASCAR track that I have driven since 2011 (some more than once with Petty and Dale Jarrett). It was THE most frustrating experience that I have had. Unfortunately, no one from Richard Petty bothered to call me and tell me about the changes prior to my wife and I flying to Kentucky from Orlando or I wouldn't have spent the money to make the trip. They should call it "Big Brother Driving Experience". You now drive alone in the car, but are controlled by a spotter who tries to communicate with you through in car communication. I say "tries" because, it is VERY difficult to hear his instructions even at peak headset volume. The car is managed by a chip that only allows you to generate the RPMs that the spotter feels you are safe to drive at. In other words, the car cuts out every time you try to creep above the limit that they have set for you. They start you off at around 4200 RPMs and work you up to 5200 if you follow all of their instructions. In other words, they treat experienced drivers just like the rookie drivers. To make matters worse, they restrict your driving line on the track to ensure that there is plenty of room for the ride along cars to pass you. This means you drive in the slow lane at much lower RPMs than you are used to driving at and you get further slowed down throughout your laps waiting for the pro drivers to lap you. I don't know about you, but I haven't been passed by anyone on the track for a long time including the ride along cars. I repeatedly asked for them to let me run at higher RPMs over the 4, eight minute sessions, that I ran. I was told they would let me, but I was only allowed to run at 5200 RPMS on my last 4 laps. I am used to running above 6000 as soon as I am comfortable on a track so this was a huge let down. When I finished my laps, my wife, who has been with me at every other track, said, "the car didn't sound right and you didn't look like you were going nearly as fast as you usually go". I recently drove Atlanta and Kansas and had top speeds around 160 MPH. I hit 165 at Charlotte. At Kentucky however, I maxed out at 142... a big disappointment when you are used to going fast (and you are paying for it). Bottom line, I paid for an EOL experience and got a Rookie experience at best. This program is a joke for repeat drivers. Steer clear! No pun intended. read more

This is a must do..It's a little pricey but it takes alot to keep those racecars running! LOL Well worth the price..I have taken many friends/family to this and we've done the 3 laps and my hubby drove the Lamborghini in another or maybe same company's "experience" Vroom...Vroom! read more

Best time of my life! Would certainly do it again. I recommend doing it at a larger track like Daytona. Hard to get to the higher speeds on a smaller track like Richmond. read more
