Yelp wants to know if I would recommend the social security office... I'm not really sure if anyone…read morewould really RECOMMEND it, but it's kind of a necessary chore sometimes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My visit was a one of those necessary chores. We were having an issue with putting our son on our taxes, and thankfully we finally got it sent in because I made an appointment on February 22nd, but the soonest appointment was APRIL 20TH! Two months later, and 5 days after the tax cutoff day. Even though we got our taxes done, I still needed to fix the problem. I was dreading the appointment because I didn't want to spend half the day waiting to speak to someone... but thankfully my mom is a gem who was willing to babysit so at least I didn't have to bring an unwilling toddler with me. Others weren't so fortunate. There were several children who were not happy to be there, but their mom's were champs and over all, it was pretty tame in there. My appointment was at 10 AM. There weren't very many people in the waiting area when I got there even though the parking lot was mostly full and there were a few people standing outside in a line. It turns out they were just signing in with the posted QR codes. I scanned the QR code, went inside, and checked in on my phone. Then I needed to scan my phone at a kiosk to get a receipt with a code. I sat down and was relieved that there were maybe 15 people total waiting. After 5ish minutes a lady asked if anyone had an appointment. Me and one other man raised our hands. She sent us both to a window and I was extremely happy that I was going to be in and out in a jif... so I thought. I told the lady what was going on with my son's social and what I needed to do and she literally told me that she wasn't good at that so I'd need someone else to help me. Umm... 'scuse me? Well okay then... So she tells me that I need to fill out a form for the next person. I explained that I already filled it out online and she said that they would need it on paper as well, so go ahead and fill it out again. Again... what? Okay, sure. I sat, filled out the form, and waited. And waited. And waited some more. After waiting an hour, nobody was at her window so I asked her if I was sent back to the back of the line. At this point the place was filling up, so waiting was becoming a bit less pleasant. She said that I was sent to the back of the line because I didn't have an appointment. I informed her that I DID have an appointment. At 10... She looked me up and looked my son up, saw that I had an appointment, and said that someone would be with me in a few minutes. I sat back down and was called in less than 5 minutes. The man that helped me was pleasant and kind. I was out of there in less than 10 minutes from the time I sat down with him. This tells me that I could've gotten out of there by 10:30 had there not been confusion with the first lady. Could've been a five star experience. I will forever make an appointment though... unless I can't wait 2 months for assistance.

Not only did I need to transfer tags but I also needed to do a vehicle transfer and increase insurance coverage, which complicated things. I explained that my husband who was still out of state was transferring the vehicle to me. She explained that he would need to get the gift affidavit notarized and he could email it. Left feeling well informed and ready to get this done. The second time, a different clerk informed me that I was missing the original gift affidavit. The previous clerk failed to inform me that I needed all original documents! Needless to say I was furious, especially because I was starting work the following week would need to request time to address this. People say third time is the charm and in this case it was. I made it 5 minutes before they closed on a Friday...made it right on time. I was anxious and praying for no hiccups. I was lucky to have been helped by Jamie! She was surprised by all the notes on my cover page and assured that she would help me as best she could to get it done. She had a positive attitude, engaged in a small conversation, and overall very helpful...definitely didn't expect that on a Friday five minutes before closing for a long holiday weekend. She made this overall process pleasant despite the miscommunication. Thank you Jamie for superb customer service!

My bank has no record of that even occurring and if it's direct then just how? I am so frustrated with this company. I have spent everyday of my lunch hour for the past months to still be in the same position as l started. Numerous of times I have been told there is no supervisor available to speak with and there is no other number I can contact. I have since a recent my forms to receive a check via mail that has been over three weeks ago. I was told it would only take 3 to 10 business days and nothing. I've had jury duty here maybe 6-7 times and actually sat on a jury once; I really don't mind it as it's close to my house and super easy to get to and oh hello, free parking! Yeah suburban living does have some perks! You turn right on the little street past Pennsylvania to get to the City Hall; you can also turn on Pennsylvania and get to it that way, but don't go into the police station! I believe there is a sign outside for the police station, but the only sign for the city hall is on the little road past Pennsylvania. You walk in and to the right is the courtroom and there is an officer at the door that will take your name and have you sign off that you are there. Once you're inside you sit on the right side of the courtroom (the left side is for all the defendants....don't mix up your left and right!). Of course you have to turn your cell phone off once you're inside but there is plenty of places to sit in the foyer outside the courtroom to talk on the phone or finish up your texts. The judge is pretty awesome and always gives a neat spiel about Texas and its constitution; I wish I could remember his name. Of course if everything is dismissed or settled he will send you on your way to the court clerk to get your $10 cash and you're done with maybe an hour out of your day. If they have people that want a jury trial then of course you are questioned by the attorneys and then either dismissed or chosen for a jury; either way you still get $10. They have vending machines and water fountains and of course bathrooms right there if you have to wait around awhile, but usually you will be and out in a couple hours. Just take a few dollars in case you need a soda or a candy bar from the machines. It's definitely not a huge hassle and a really important civic duty; I don't mind. If I ever need a jury trial I hope there are people that think like me and are ready to sit on my jury with an open mind and listen to all the evidence.
