Dinner

Absolutely beautiful venue with very comfortable seating -- it never felt crowded. Everything was incredibly well organized and ran smoothly, making the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. The show was fantastic, professionally executed, and the actresses were truly outstanding with their incredible dancing and singing. Highly recommend!

Going to a production at Narroway is always a treat! The music, the actors - everything about it is great. We're so lucky to have it here.

"The Scarlet…read morePimpernel" Thank you to the amazing direction, writing, set, costumes, lighting...the entire use of the stage and flow from one scene to another was delightful and engaging. The acting was excellent. Everyone in the cast kept character even when in the background. The main cast was powerfully on target and very believable and enjoyable. The supporting cast was able to bring the whole stage to life. Did i mention how much I enjoy it? Lastly, all the voices were powerful and right on key. I wish we would have known of this theater these many years of us visiting Greenville. If you can catch a production...do it. You will get your money's worth and leave with a smile. Did I mention it was clean, well written and better than most Broadway offerings today! Well done, keep it up! New very comfortable seats too!

It was outstanding. This production was a first ever stage screenplay written based on the C.S. Lewis Narnia character. I was amazed at the quality of the production and in particular the puppetry and the intricate scene changes. Having seen productions on Broadway as well as in Los Angeles and Toronto and even the traveling Broadway series a our local Peace Center, I can say that the Logos production can proudly stand side by side with these venues, losing nothing in terms of the production, execution and talent. The facility and seats are different, of course, but I cannot say enough how impressed we were. Highly recommended and very well done.

There is one week left to see "Oklahoma" at the Little Theater of Winston Salem. This Rogers and…read moreHammerstein collaboration played on Broadway for 2,212 performances. My wife and I saw the show last week and the cast, music, and story had us wanting to, (but we restrained ourselves) sing along and stomp our feet. Most will recognize many of the songs but "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" is probably the most recognizable. Once again, as in most community theater shows we've seen in the Triad, the cast is full of amazingly accomplished actors and singers. Curly (Chris Cannon), Ado Annie (Martha Glenn Bowers), Laurey (Rachel Squier), and Arien Pace (Ali Hakim) were perfect in their roles. BUT I have to say the entire cast was fabulous and deserves special mention. Go - you will have a great experience and, like us, will look forward to the next LTWS show.

Located in the heart of downtown you can conveniently grab a bite to eat and walk to the theatre after. There is $5.00 paid parking diagonally across the street. There is a door greeter as soon as you walk up. The lobby is small and cozy with restrooms and a small concession stand for drinks and snacks, including wine. Tickets to their events can be purchased ahead or at the door, but some events sell out quickly. The staff is friendly and direct you to your seats. As for this play, it was both funny and emotional and really made you think about people and their past trauma and emotions. The seats were comfortable but can be noisy when someone gets up during the show to use the restrooms. The production itself was on point and entertaining. I will definitely continue to frequent them and catch other shows. Definitely an affordable night out.

I did not attend the theater and on a Saturday morning, the building was locked up. But I did get a…read morechance to see the outside and the historical marker posted on the front entrance. The marker reads, "When Dr. L. J. Meroney and his sister Lena built the theater in 1905, its large seating capacity attracted professional troupes to Salisbury. Two of the most famous thespians of the day, the "Divine" Sarah Bernhardt and the glamorous Lillian Russell, performed on its stage. Also appearing here were "The March King," John Philip Sousa, and the New York Symphony Orchestra. With the advent of motion pictures, part of the building was turned into a cinema; eventually the whole theater became a movie house. Through the years the theater-movie house was known by many different names: Bijou, Fotosho, Grubb, Colonial, Strand, State, Center, and lastly, Towne Cinema. "Piedmont Players Theatre, Inc., purchased the building in 1992. After extensive renovations, they inaugurated the 1995-96 season in their new home. Once again the Meroney Theater is used for stage productions." The plaque was erected in 2006 by the Salisbury History & Art Trail. There is street parking in front and a free lot nearby. Walking into the theater was a red carpet where I was greeted by 2 gentlemen with the biggest smiles who opened the door for me. As I arrived at the doors to entered the area to be seated I was handed a program and directed to my seat. Everyone was super friendly. It made me very comfortable and ready for the play. The Theater has 2 level seating (Orchestra & Balcony). I was on the lower left side which gave me an awesome view of everything. The Theatre was clean but extremely cold. I had closed toe shoes on and my toes were freezing. The Chairs were very comfortable with cushioning on the seat and back. I was impressed with the "fancy" stage that rotated 360 degrees for the different scene changes. Something like this in little ole Salisbury is pretty big. Afterwards we were directed upstairs to the 3rd for the reception. Again, the staff was super nice, I mean super. The room was huge with wooden floors. We wondered if they rented the area for private parties as it would be a nice space to hold events! In the future when I am looking for a space, I will definitely inquire! The entire theatre gave us this nice Historic/Antique feeling. It made you feel like you were a part of something great. Can't wait to attend the next production at Meroney.
