Our (first and only) son has been with Narcisa for almost four years (from nine months to 4-1/2). We found Narcisa through a colleague of mine whose son had been with her for three years. We can't be happier with the experience and will be very sad to leave in the fall.
Sending our son to Narcisa has been like giving him a third, much more experienced parent. Narcisa got our son to get rid of his binky a full year before we made the break at home; she potty-trained him several months before he was out of diapers at home; she taught him how to write his letters at two, and, to our amazement, to read at three. Though my husband and I don't speak Spanish, I recently watched a Disney movie with my son at home in Spanish, and he seemed to have no problem understanding the entire thing. She's taught him how to dress himself and put on his own shoes, how to brush his teeth, how to color inside the lines...the list goes on. My husband and I have often wondered at how she is able to do so much and with multiple children. She truly is a child-whisperer, very kind and loving, yet organized and firm. Our son is very happy there and loves Narcisa (and Gabby and Luis) like a second family.
The atmosphere at Narcisa's is calm, clean and orderly. In four years of drop-offs and pick-ups, we have never seen any kind of even mild chaos. We like that the varying ages of the children allow our only-child son to have something close to sibling interactions on a daily basis. There is a solid routine in place, and plenty of toys and educational activities. Narcisa provides breakfast, lunch and snacks, and my son has told me what a good cook "Cisa" is. Her rates are very reasonable, and since she is fully accredited, we are able to take the full tax deduction. Narcisa is extremely reliable; the two-week annual vacation is always planned well in advance, and in four years, Narcisa has taken only two or three sick days. She is also very approachable; we feel like we can contact Narcisa and Gabby about anything (but honestly, they've got everything so well covered, there's very rarely the need.)
I could go on and on with this review. Narcisa has done so much of the heavy-lifting of parenting and educating our son for us, as well as loving and caring for him in our absence. I'm not sure where we'd be without her. Please feel free to ask Narcisa for my phone number; I'm happy to speak with you more and answer any questions. read more
