She arrived apologetically, however a call to the host would have been nice and since now we are almost 30 mins in to our 3 hr set up time, you'd think she would have offered to assist. Outside of that. It is a wonderful venue so long as you bring enough decorations to transform it into your own event. They are not strict, and allow access to kitchen amenities. I'd recommend it for sure.

I finished "in the points" this time! It's held in the hall that you get to through the small bar. You get to the bar through a door with the Canteen sign above it off the parking lot. It's a very low-key place, with some VFW memorabilia. As a non-member, I signed in by the door. The decor is old and homey. There's around a dozen seats at the small bar, but i dont recall if there were any tables. There are some kind of lottery or scratch-off ticket machines, and a tv. The bartender keeps things moving, and there's a simple menu, hot dogs, pizza, cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets and fingers, a philly cheese steak, fries, and more. The burger was hot and juicy, and i think it may have been microwaved. Tasted fine. The fries were pretty good and piping hot. The people all seemed friendly and relaxed. If your at all cool, you wont find much for you here, but if you're just a regular person, this seems like a nice place for a quiet drink and some regular food.

They have removed hundreds of trees opening up the Course and providing more wide open vistas, especially from the clubhouse terrace. The view from the Clubhouse veranda is fabulous. You can see the LuLu Clubhouse, a neighboring Club, in the distance. The original trolley is still operational. It takes your bags and you up to the Clubhouse from the 18th & 9th greens while caddy's take the carts around up the long winding cart paths. All very quant and old timey. The layout is challenging with many changes in elevation and some very challenging greens. The greens are impeccable although I remember them being even faster. The rough was a bit harsh. Very easy to lose your ball if you do not keep your tee shot on the fairways. A bit windy on our day otherwise conditions were perfect. We never felt pushed and never caught up to any group in front. Caddy master explained they space each group 15 minutes apart. Very nice and quite a change from the 5-7 minute spacing at some public Courses. The staff are wonderful. Friendly, accommodating and always ready to assist. We had a bite to eat after the round. The food is higher end Country Club. Playing here is a real treat as I no longer have a private club membership myself. If you can get on the Course I highly recommend it. Mark.

My family held a repast at Flourtown Country Club for my mother following her recent passing…read more Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would not recommend this venue for an event--particularly for families of color. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel unwelcome, most notably by the assigned host. During the program, while a family member was speaking, I briefly stood to get a cup of coffee. The host reprimanded me by telling me to "sit down and stop talking," and further stated that she would tell me when I had permission to get up. This behavior was both inappropriate and disrespectful. Throughout the evening, this conduct continued. The host spoke down to multiple members of my family and, on several occasions, addressed children in a demeaning manner. The situation culminated when the host announced to all of our guests that it was time to leave--while members of our extended family were actively offering condolences to my siblings, my father, and me. We later shared these concerns with club management, explicitly stating that we were not seeking reimbursement, but wanted them to be aware of how we were treated during an event held in the immediate aftermath of burying my mother. Rather than receiving a compassionate or understanding response, we were given excuses for the behavior, with management stating that because we arrived late, the host needed to move us along.

The country club was tucked in a residential area and had all the accommodations for a large or small event. As we are still in the midst of the pandemic the event was outside for the most part and all the attendees had to be fully vaccinated (not sure if that was a requirement for the country club). There was an outdoor cocktail hour on the balcony facing the golf course. Drinks were flowing along with delicious appetizers. Then the main event was on the golf course in a very intimate location, the setup was beautiful and so was the ceremony of love! Then there was the dinner under a tent close to the pool (with a lifeguard on duty in case anyone took an unplanned dip). The food was served inside (masks were required) and the tables were under the tent. The food was delicious and plentiful. The drinks continued to flow and while the speeches were great, the next main event was the dance floor (also under the tent outside). Great location, great people, lots of love, and an absolutely great time!
