With my friends wedding coming up quick and my regular hairstylist working the wedding party, I was…read morein a bind to find a qualified professional to do an updo fitting for my formal gown. I browsed yelp for an hour, read reviews, checked pictures and narrowed down on my top 3 salons closest to her venue. Studio Nails & Hair in Oceanside was my first call, and only call! Requesting to speak to Dee, (not realizing she was the owner), I immediately informed her of a picture I saw on yelp of an updo done by her. Complimented her on her quality and proceeded to discuss my predicament. She quickly confirmed the fast approaching date and time needed (2-3 days after call), without hesitation. Once the big day arrived, I was running about 2 hours behind schedule. I called and notified Dee of my unexpected updated ETA and asked if she could still accommodate me for a later appointment. She again said without hesitation, not a problem, I will see you then. Once in route from Lake Arrowhead (my secondary residence), I missed my exit and ended up having to driving an extra 30 mins around to catch the next freeway. I quickly called to inform and beg her to still be seen as it was crunch time. Dee fully understood and assured me that I'd be seen, but may have to wait as she started on her next scheduled client. I said not a problem and I couldn't thank her enough for still fitting me in. Once Dee finished with my hair, (which was STUNNING BY THE WAY! Please see pictures below), she assisted with getting me into my gown. Fully ready and about to head on my way, I had a fashion emergency, I split my zipper in my T-back gown. Dee, her assistant and her CLIENT, saw the fear and panic in my face and eagerly tried to help me! We tried for 20 mins but the zipper wouldn't budge. With a gaping hole in my back from mid to lower, I was panicked! But my hair looked perfect!!!! I quickly remembered I had a plethora of safety pins in my purse (don't recall why, lol), Dee said let's give it a try! The 3 women pinned me up without question and got me on my way. I also had a shall I used as a wrap to hide the back. If it wasn't for Dee, her assistant and her client, I wouldn't have made it to my friends wedding! If it wasn't for Dee working so hard to accommodate my extremely busy and hectic schedule and specific needs I wouldn't have had picture perfect hair for her wedding! I received compliments all night long. I will be a returning customer if and when I am in the SD area. Forever grateful, Jerica M

I am extremely disappointed with my experience…read more I actually went to Andrea years ago and stopped using her because of her poor customer service. I decided to give her another chance, hoping things had improved. Unfortunately, they had not. I paid for a sew-in installation and within a two days noticed that the top was very bumpy, uneven, and not laying flat. The issue was obvious in photos and noticeable enough that others commented on it. I reached out promptly, sent pictures, and politely asked if she could fix it. Rather than taking accountability or offering a solution, she acknowledged the issue by telling me the wefts were thick. As the professional, if the hair was going to create a bulky or uneven result, that should have been communicated before completing the service. At no point was I advised that the finished product would look the way it did. When I asked if it could be fixed, I was ignored. After following up, I was met with a dismissive response about not discussing work on her days off and was told she would revisit the issue the next day. She never followed up, never offered a correction, and never attempted to make the situation right. The most disappointing part wasn't even the hair--it was the customer service. Mistakes happen, but professionalism is demonstrated by how you handle them. Instead of addressing a legitimate concern from a paying customer, I was left feeling dismissed and ignored. Because the issue was never resolved, I had to pay an additional $190 to another stylist to remove and redo the installation (@sheweaves). She installed the exact same hair and my install is SUPER flat. I gave this business a second chance despite my previous concerns about customer service, and unfortunately the experience confirmed why I stopped going in the first place. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this stylist and will be filing complaints with the appropriate consumer protection agencies regarding the handling of this matter.

A Truly Transformative Experience…read more I began seeing Jaimi of Beyond the Strandz earlier this year, after struggling with hair loss around my edges that I just couldn't manage on my own. From the very first consultation, I could tell this wasn't going to be your typical "try this oil" type of appointment. Jaimi put together a comprehensive plan tailored specifically to my needs- incorporating hydration, movement, and a supplement schedule using bioavailable products designed to support healing from the inside out. What sets Jaimi apart is not just her Trichology expertise, but her attention to detail and personalized care. I come in weekly for professional steam treatments, scalp detoxes, and gentle styling that protects my progress between visits. As someone who is very tender-headed, I've always dreaded braiding appointments; Jaimi is the only stylist who's ever done my hair without causing pain during or after. That alone is worth celebrating for me. The real proof is in the results: my edges are visibly filling in, my scalp feels so much healthier (no flakes, no itching, no tenderness), and even my recent functional wellness scan showed significant improvement across multiple systems. Jaimi's approach works- and not just surface level; it increases your overall wellness! Is the program both a financial and time investment? Absolutely. But if you've tried everything else and felt like you were out of options, this is worth every dollar. The care, the results, the intention behind every aspect- like custom tea blends and tailored supplement- it's all part of what makes this experience so different from anything else I've experienced. Thanks for helping me get my hair back, Jaimi!
