From theatre listings to events to new openings to stuff to do in the kids holidays...you'll find tons of great tips here. Also loads of the leaflets have money off coupons in them too so you might end up picking up a bargain too! It's great for gifts too as they have some great souvenirs and Mancunian memorabilia and the best range of postcards in the city! Worth a look if you know people who've left Manchester, send them a postcard and tell them what you're missing! I told the guy who worked there that I was a Smiths fan and wanted to know where all the sites or places of importance were since my tour guide was at work. He quickly wrote down all of the best spots for me and let me charge my phone. Everyone there was very helpful, they had free maps of the city and also had this cool digital table map thing. Out of all the cities I visited in the UK the only souvenirs that I purchased were from Manchester. I love my 'I heart MCR' and 'on the sixth day..' mug.

An unsung gem of the Welsh countryside (you'd be amazed how many people haven't heard of this place…read more- don't remain one of them). Park up at the visitor centre (£1) and take a long relaxing walk along the dam's retaining wall - with picturesque views down across the lower valley - or for a much more enriching experience, park on the access road on the other side of the reservoir, which you'll find by taking the B4501 from Denbigh. Apart from having access to the forest walk, there's a plethora of Bronze Age remains - cairns and burial mounds, and a ritual temple - to be found on the well-signposted archaeological trail. Interestingly, only 20 people were ever buried at this location during a 500 year period. You eventually work your way round to the visitor centre, housing a free interpretative exhibition, with a handy cafe and a toilet complex, attached. Whatever the weather (and we've been there on the wintriest of days) it's a fascinatingly eerie (drowned villages always are, somehow) and beautiful spot.

The roadway around part of the Llyn makes for easy walking for beginners but for the more adventurous there are plenty of other pathways too. A great place to cycle too if that's your bag.

The Eco Visitor Centre acts as the welcome point for the towns esplanade park and ride. The building has won loads of awards and was designed to act as a real demonstration of environmentally sound construction methods and the impacts we all have on the environment with our energy use. The Eco Visitor Centre generates most of its power and heat requirements from renewable technologies. Pretty cool! Facilities at the Eco Centre include the 'Eco Education Displays'. The centre is very geared up for schools to visit with an eco classroom and onsite teacher.

I can't say much about the eco centre but we hired bikes from here and had a great day out. Bikes…read morewere cheap (£6 for half a day) and the man was very helpful. We went for the squirrel route which takes you south along the coast and then through the woodland and finally to the beach at Formby. The first part of the trip (coastal road) was hard! The wind was against us and it was a struggle to keep going However get your ipod on and keep at it because as soon as you turn off into the woodland the ride becomes a lot more fun :-) The woods was the best part as you got the reward of whizzing down the hills once you'd made it up them! The beach was quiet, although very windy and it started to rain a bit so we headed back. The way back was a lot easier once the wind was behind us. There and back was about 18 miles and took us about 2 1/2 hours. It's a shame we had to catch our train home because it would have been nice to stay on the beach a bit longer and we might of been able to join onto another of the routes when we got back to the main road. I would definitely hire from here again and try one of the other routes. Or maybe do the squirrel one again and spend longer down at the beach if it's a nice day.

Has a good range of leaflets for not only wolverhampton but other places such as Blackpool. Do tend to have a lot of strange people going in their such as homeless people, people with learning disabiltes who just come in to chat to the staff however this does detract them from the job they should be doing. Also have quite a few items of Wolverhampton memorabilia such as post cards, tankards etc

First class service from Thomson on this visit. Myself and…read moreAdam Y had spent a couple of weeks deciding where we should go on holiday this August and couldn't come up with any ideas within budget so we wandered around Bolton one day and picked up some brochures from various travel agents. Eventually we resorted back to the internet and just doing any old search with the main search being 'Adult only hotel' - we hate children. We found a 5* hotel within (almost) price budget on the Thomson website, but decided to go in-store to see if they could better it. Of we popped down to the late opening Thomson shop on the Fort shopping park on a Wednesday evening and we were warmly greeted by a young chap who happened to be the manager. He asked us to sit down and explain what we wanted. He searched and unfortunately the price his system was giving him was £250 more than the website. Not to worry he said, he would price match for us and even waiver the admin fee because he could. How nice! However, he was going away in two days so if we wanted it we would need to book with him before Friday to get this deal. We couldn't decide there and then so had a wander around the car park and came to the conclusion that we would only spend the next two days looking on the internet more and only coming back here. So we walked back in and booked it. The young man was very friendly and gave us advise on the resort and travel tips without being patronising as some travel agents can be. I would definitely recommend using Thomson, this one in particular.
