The class ratios are among the highest I have experienced in early childhood education, with…read morefour-year-old classrooms at 20:1 and three-year-old classrooms at 15:1. These ratios make it extremely difficult for teachers to effectively manage their classrooms, particularly when dealing with challenging behaviors and children who need additional support. I have witnessed children running from teachers, hitting and spitting at teachers, and jumping from furniture. I have also heard teachers express how stressed and burned out they feel. Many have shared that they are frustrated and saddened that they are unable to enjoy their jobs and the children the way they once did. High ratios, challenging behaviors, and a lack of support and communication from leadership have made it difficult for teachers to provide the quality care they want to provide. It is unfortunate because The Nest has the potential to be a really nice school. The school promotes the core values of Wellness, Kindness, and Fun, but in my experience, those values are not consistently reflected in the day-to-day environment. The best aspects of the school are the playground and the spacious classrooms. Unfortunately, both would benefit from better upkeep and maintenance. Most of the teachers I have interacted with are friendly, caring, and genuinely good with the children. It is clear, however, how much the current environment has contributed to their stress. Considering the high tuition, high classroom ratios, and concerns regarding communication and support from management, I would not currently recommend this school. I believe significant improvements in staffing, classroom support, communication, and overall leadership would be needed before I could recommend it to families or prospective employees.

So today after I spoke with Nadine about how she keeps…read moremy child in a chair secluded away from the other kids while she has them in a circle reading to them I get a phone call my child's care has been terminated. I spoke with Nadine and she was very rude passive aggressive and should not be held accountable for anyone's child!! She basically told me she could not care for my child because he climbs to much and likes to throw toys... keep in mind he is 1 years old!!! Now this is not the first time we have had words about how my child is treated and to say the least I'm not one to hold my tongue especially when my child is involved and my funds that I work hard for every day. Chris is a devil in disguise also!! the way she speaks to her employees are very distasteful, her tone to to harsh to be around anyone's child and she does not have the child's best interests at heart; they are only concerned about funds. I will be reporting this daycare to the bbb; child care resources and to whom ever else to ensure that this pitiful excuse for a child care facility is stripped of their services. This daycare showed me that didn't care anything about My son when he got sick and was out for almost 2 weeks. He was hospitalized with lesions on his brain and do you think the daycare called to check on him... Nope... Lord knows I tried to stick it out, even after Chris called and told me my child WOULD BE DEAD... Yes u read it correctly, that lady said my child WOULD BE DEAD, if it was left up time answering my phone. Mind u my office is a dead zone for signals so I gave them my mom's number also, but because I didn't answer when she called my phn the first Tm my child would have been dead...(she is crazy I tell u)but the Lord; yes God, he had something better fit for my child. Within the same hour of this selfish daycare terminiating my child a God sent daycare called and said they had 1 spot for him!!! So believe me when I say, this daycare is not one to send your child too, yes the teachers are very polite after u get to know them but there are way better places in Charlotte Nc to send your child too!!! I only give them one star bc I had to, God doesn't like ugly and for my mother to pick my child up and she feel as though his entire demeanor was off, he didn't smile and seemed as though he was scared to even move out of a chair he was placed in for only God knows how long is unacceptable!!!

A Wonderful Agency You Can Grow With!…read more We have been extraordinarily happy with Ms. Leigh Roberson and her team since they began helping us before the birth of our first child in 2021. Ms. Roberson and her team have been wonderfully helpful not just with the initial nanny search, but with our continuing, ongoing child care needs of all kinds. Elspeth is a internal medicine physician who specializes in geriatrics. I'm a kids cancer and gene therapy doctor at Levine Children's. We both have the honor of trying to help patients struggling with severe and complicated medical challenges - often resulting in unpredictible and unexpected work hours and on-call weekends. And our medical training meant Elspeth and I didn't start having children until relatively late in our lives. When Elspeth and I were lucky enough to begin our journeys as parents, our own parents are too medically frail themselves to be able to help us with our newborn children, and our other family too far away. Ms. Roberson and her team have been incredibly supportive and helpful from the very, very beginning. Neither Elspeth nor I knew anything about hiring a nanny: Ms. Roberson walked us through every step, including helping us with arranging the necessary payroll, tax witholding, and health insurance paperwork to do it all right. Ms. Roberson helped us recruit nanny candidates from across the country with substantial experience, from which we selected J, our amazing nanny who has been our primary nanny ever since our first child was born and continues with us to this day. But more than that: Ms. Roberson also helped us recruit skilled, experienced and caring temporary newborn care specialists at the very beginning, to help us with the most time-intense early days of our baby's life (since again, we have no family nearby or medically able to help, and we both continued to have clinical duties throughout). Their expertise for us as brand new parents was extremely, extremely helpful. And in the years since, Ms. Roberson and her team has continued to routinely help us with substitute and last-minute nannies to help us, when our primary nanny got sick, or when clinical duties suddenly required unexpected weekends caring for patients instead of being at home with the kids. Having the help of Ms. Roberson and her team to provide caring, capable help whenever our patients needed our help, has given us great peace of mind as we take care of the patients who depend on us. I highly and strongly recommend Ms. Roberson and her team, not just as a service to recruit one's first nanny, but as an agency that can continue to help you with the entire continum of child care help. We are very lucky to have her and her team. Thank you, Leigh!

From the perspective of a mother whose child ABSOLUTELY THRIVED and continues to be a scholar among his peers in elementary school, I can't express how excellent the care and academic RIGOR is at S&E childcare development center. My child started at 18 months and stayed until he started Kindergarten. S&E childcare development center poured into my child spiritually, emotionally, and academically. Not to brag, but my child left S&E childcare development center beyond ready for Kindergarten, to a point where he scored 1st and 2nd grade levels on reading and math during his kindergarten year. I can't tell you how many friends and family members are in awe of how articulate, intelligent, and confident my child is. All of these characteristics were instilled in him as a collaboration of the work of S&E and partnership with us at home. In reference to the waitlist, S&E childcare development center continues to have a waitlist, because once your child is in their care, you will NEVER want to leave! When I became pregnant with my second child, I notified the director while only a few months pregnant, bc there is no other choice for our family than S&E for childcare! I could go on and on about how much I truly love S&E childcare development center, but I know this review is getting long. I will end by saying, S&E childcare development center is not only an EXCEPTIONAL development center, but a safe haven for your child to be loved like family, and where you as a parent, will have complete peace of mind!

From the moment we first visited, we were blown away by the warmth, love, and professionalism of the staff. The facility is immaculate, with vibrant, colorful spaces that instantly spark creativity and joy. The classroom is thoughtfully designed to meet the developmental needs of the children, filled with engaging toys, books, and learning materials that cater to their curiosity and growth. The staff at S&E Child Development Center are nothing short of extraordinary. Ms. Shana is incredibly attentive, patient, and genuinely invested in the well-being and development of the children. They've taken the time to truly understand our child unique & 'fun' personality, nurturing her strengths while gently guiding her in areas where she needs extra support. The level of communication with parents is phenomenal; we receive daily updates, photos, and videos that allow us to stay connected to our child's day-to-day experiences. The curriculum at S&E is simply outstanding. It offers a perfect balance of play and structured learning, focusing on building social skills, creativity, and a strong foundation for early academics. We've watched our child blossom under their care, coming home each day with an infectious excitement for learning. What truly sets S&E Child Development Center apart is the sense of community they foster. They regularly organize fun events, such as themed parties, which make us feel like we're part of a big, supportive family. The center's commitment to health and safety is also exceptional, with top-notch security measures and a focus on healthy eating--even though my little one was not a fan of veggies. In short, S&E Child Development Center has been everything we could have hoped for and more. It's a place where our child is not only safe and cared for but is also encouraged to explore, learn, and grow in the most loving and nurturing environment imaginable. We couldn't be happier with our choice, and we wholeheartedly recommend S&E Child Development Center to any parent looking for the very best in child care. Five stars aren't enough!
