Nang-Loan is a traiteur which typically prepare food for the day, displays it under gentle refrigeration and then sells it as take out, or it is briefly heated (yes microwaved) and served. Samli, the owner and chef, makes many of the dishes herself from scratch in addition to the usual asiatic fare everyone else has. She also serves the tables herself. I would describe it as home cooking from Thailand and Vietnam. Try her homemade vietnamese raviolis if you are lucky and she has not run out.
Her homemade dishes include Coconut fish in banana leaves, Crab cakes, chinese sausage and rice paper wraps. She makes a great Papaya salad and bo bun before your eyes along with several oriental desserts.
Many dishes include fresh mint, basil and sprouts on the side. It is cramped for eating in but very friendly, you will most certainly sit with strangers and make some friends.
The price is extremely reasonable and portions even too large. A complete meal would cost less than 10 Euro. She will divide dishes to share. Tea is free. read more
