Nando's seems to be a global company as I saw them in London and know they have a few locations in…read morethe midwest and east coast of the US as well as in Africa and the UK. This was the first place I came to eat in New Zealand and after a very long flight from Los Angeles, I was ready to eat. I had the chicken breast sandwich as my introduction to this restaurant and I can't remember what sauce I chose now. It was delicious, filling, but didn't make me feel like I just ate something greasy and unhealthy. I wasn't a fan of the bottled lemonade I had. Mostly as I don't like carbonated drinks and didn't know this was carbonated. The restaurant had a very warm feel with lots of woods and a staircase that lead to more seating upstairs. That was my thought initially, but as we went upstairs, it was pretty packed so we came back down and found a table in a quieter corner. This location is within the West Field Shopping Center so there is a lot of parking in the area and as well as immediate shopping you can do if you feel inclined to do so. I'd be happy to try out other locations I see globally if I'm in the mood for chicken on the healthier side of preparation.

The Manukau branch a standard layout and one big open space. You can be seated at tables, in booths or there's seating outside for that nice sunny day. It's right opposite the parking lot, so its a short commute to excellent Portugese food. I like the Manukau branch because they work really fast, whether you're dining in or taking out. I'm always surprised at how efficient they are even when they're pretty packed out compared to other branches I've been to. My experiences with staff here have been great. I've mastered the art of being able to eat everything I like at Nando's without having too many leftovers. I always go for their classic chicken wrap with extra hot sauce (I love spicy food)- but you can go for lemon and herb, mild or hot sauces if you're not as eager as me. It's simple yet filling and gives me room for their peri-peri chips and corn on the cob- my must-haves for every visit! Their burgers are awesome too and I'm a big pineapple lover, so I like that its on of the extras you can add to your burger. Nando's also sells their own sauces and marinades to re-create some dishes at home. I bought some peri peri salt a while back, but I haven't seen it around lately- that stuff is gold. A staff member told me not too long ago that you could look up recipes on their website for ideas, a handy tip I'd recommend for any Portugese food lovers. Nando's Manukau is a welcome change from the usual food court fare here and is a delicious lunch or dinner option.
