I recently purchased a home in Buena Park. I was at the house today, supervising renovation work,…read morewhen an officer on patrol stopped to speak with me. He asked if we were still planning to tent the house this weekend. I confirmed that we originally planned to fumigate this weekend; but this task was rescheduled. I did not realize that when I contracted with the pest control company, that firm applied for a permit and stated that the house would be tented during the Thanksgiving weekend. This information was shared with the police. Maybe you've heard of this scenario before: A house is tented over a long weekend, and criminals use the opportunity to burglarize the house. The officer was polite and professional. I feel it was a positive interaction. And I derived a sense of security knowing information like this is shared with officers, to enhance their situational awareness.
