Tho others like Buffalo Trace, which is sought after but not allocated, they are $10 more than MSRP, and $6 more than Liqour Depot sales it for. MSRP is $24.99, and that can be had at Costco when it's in stock. It's a lake town liquor store, so whiskeys aren't the biggest offering here, wines and beers seem to be the bigger ticket items. I live an hour away from this place and was in town to visit my family and didn't realize I was over charged by almost double... I left my information and the transaction number, amount, date... everything they needed to pull my charge up and see I only purchased $15 at the most but my charge was $30. I called today because they said a manager would reach out to me but it's been 2 weeks now and no one has called me.. The MANAGER argued with me and said it's my own fault for not getting a receipt and waiting 2 weeks.. I couldn't believe what I was hearing and proceeded to tell him they were being fraudulent at this point and not even trying to help me and he said I could take him to court and hung up on me... Doesn't look like it has proper support, definitely not where I was looking in the whiskey section. The selection for whiskey wasn't a vast as other locations, yet they did have some rare finds that were still at MSRP, which is a huge plus, they aren't marking items up just because they are sought after. However, the location this store sits in isn't really a harbinger for attracting high end clients that will spend $100-$200 on premium whiskey and spirits. Tho, this is why I search out these stores, as they usually have exactly what I'm looking for, unlike the big stores in the high traffic and high economy locations. They had my Buffalo Trace and Elijah Craig. They did have some more rare brands behind the counter, which is normal. The store recently added a sign stating IDs are required to enter. The first time I came alone and tried to show my ID, I was told it wasn't needed -- that the sign was only due to groups of teenagers entering the store. However, the next time my husband, his sister, and a friend went, my sister-in-law was refused entry because she did not have her ID. I have shopped at many liquor stores, including Total Wine, with family members of various ages and this has never been a problem -- being in the store is not the same as purchasing alcohol. After returning with my sister-in-law and cousin, we were allowed inside but were met with rude comments about needing ID to make a purchase. During that same visit, multiple other customers entered the store without being stopped or reminded of the policy. It was hard not to feel singled out, and the overall tone from the staff was dismissive and condescending. Policies should be applied consistently and respectfully. Unfortunately, this experience felt discriminatory and unwelcoming. With other options nearby, such as Liquorland down the street, we would much rather support a business that treats customers with fairness and respect.

This store was intriguing to me in my search since it is a bit off the beaten path, small, and, well... older. You never know what hidden treasures at cut rate prices you can find in these stores. What did I find you may ask? Disappointment. I found lots of disappointment. Being in the industry and searching stores for deals and the obscure, you get in tune with the pricing structures and what to expect. Not here though- this store left me simply perplexed. How was there a store in business for such a period of time; a store with many guests in and out quickly because they had been coming for years and knew exactly what they wanted? I seriously looked around trying to find something, anything, that would explain it to me. I failed, my friends. I failed miserably. Product after product was $3 and $4 higher. Bottles for $29.98 that I know every other store in town has for $19.99 at worst. $10 more for a marginal spirit? The more quality spirits were $12 and $15 dollars more- on every single offering! I simply don't know what to say of it. How are people this blind to what they are buying if they buy it regularly? Truly I hope that if you are reading this, that it helps open at least one pair of eyes, because, well darn it... this is America. We shouldn't get gouged when we choose to indulge in our libations.
