I'll take a chance on Mr. Patel. Big mistake. I called and the person that answered the phone was very rude. She told me that I had to make an appointment so I did. I had an appointment with a young man who was not Mr. Patel, but I assumed that he was a lawyer. Big mistake. He said that before he would do anything. I needed to give him $2000 and he would take care of it. Giving him that money was a huge mistake. Because after that he would not take my calls or return my calls. And as I remember it. The next time I saw him was at the courthouse. As we were going in to the courtroom. And I quote, "we are going to plead guilty because I (me)am a large white man with a bald head and there is no way that I would be found innocent because the plaintive was not. So after paying $1300 and In court costs and fines. I let it go for a while thinking about it (because I am a little bit afraid of attorneys). I decided I would let Mr. Patel know about this. When I would call he would not take my calls and would not see me when I drove by his office. I did leave my phone number with the receptionist and ask for Mr. Patel to call me. I did this many times. When I came into his office mind you, I knew he was in there because I could see him walking around. I know what he looks like and I was not there to start a big commotion. All I wanted to do was explain to him what happened. So I knew he was trying to avoid me. Now I know that $3300. It's not a lot to Mr. Patel. It's not one car payment on his Masarati or McLaren that he's driving this month or whatever it is that he's driving now. But it means a lot to me. I've had 2 heart surgeries. I've had cancer bouts twice and I've had over 20 other surgeries and I've been on SSDI for years. So that money meant a lot to me and he did nothing to earn it. I'd like to give him a zero. But a one is the lowest I can give. Now I just hope maybe this review can stop someone else from making the same mistake that I made.

I phoned them two weeks before my court date and set up an appointment for a consultation with Lauren McQueen, who claimed to be competent in the necessary legal specialty. Her secretary assured me that she was available to represent me on the Court date. However on the day of the consultation, I was informed Counselor McQueen would not be available to represent me in court, but they would be glad to take the fee for the legal consultation! Happily, Meyer Capel did finally refund their charge nine days later. I am changing my rating accordingly.

Especially if you're a woman, stay far away from this guy. I was referred to Meyer Capel law firm, and more specifically to Sam Limentato, from another lawyer. I wanted a post-nuptial agreement drawn up. I was informed via email that there is a $175 consultation fee. Totally fine, however, I had a few clarifying questions about if the fee is applied to the work and also the overall cost of drawing up a post-nup. I was then told by Sam that he could take a phone call (for free) to discuss. Great! However, then while on the phone, it was clear that he was unhappy and uncomfortable with taking the call. While on the call he appeared frustrated and annoyed with my questions, acted as if I had done something wrong for asking questions, and there was even a condescending and demeaning tone for most of the discussion. When I asked how much experience he has with drawing up pre/post-nups I was told with an air of superiority, "Let me put it this way. I was the presiding judge over all family law for several years." I'm not sure why he felt the need to then repeat this information at another point in the conversation, likely his own arrogance. Turns out he has only done about a dozen pre/post-nups, which he admitted on the call. He also felt the need to tell me twice that he did not need me as a client and he couldn't care either way if I moved forward with his services. Great way to draw in new business. He then chided me for asking clarifying questions about costs--questions anyone would have. The whole thing left me wondering why he offered me a phone call in the first place if he was so unwilling to participate. I didn't ask for a call, I asked a few clarifying questions and then he offered the call but then treated a potential client with disgust and derision. Needless to say, I did not move forward with his services. I would strongly encourage anyone to avoid this lawyer, especially if you're a woman.
