We started out with an order of shrimp summer rolls and both chose bowls of Pho as our main course. The vegetarian and vegan menu is huge here, and I appreciated so many options and enjoyed my tofu pho. It did need some sriracha (hot sauce) though, as it wasn't spicy at all by default. The reason I am giving four stars is that the restaurant is cash only, and we did not know that until we'd ordered, ate, and were paying. Thankfully we had euros with us (otherwise my husband would have been running a few blocks back to the hotel). I didn't expect a cash only restaurant in a city, and I do wish they'd add a sign to let folks know.

Who would have thought there's actually some pretty decent Korean food in Cologne? This was my…read morefirst time having Asian food in Germany, and it was a surprisingly good experience! Location: 5/5 The location is super convenient -- literally a 1-minute walk from the Marriott Hotel and just a few minutes from the main train station. If you're staying nearby and getting tired of German food, definitely give this place a try! Food: 4/5 The seafood sundubu (seafood spicy soft tofu soup) really hit the spot! It was flavorful and comforting, with just the right amount of spice -- not overly spicy at all, so don't let the word "spicy" scare you. The spicy squid and pork belly were also really nice. Drinks: 4.5/5 I loved that they offer Korean drinks as well as two local draft beers. A perfect combination! Service: 4/5 The servers were friendly and welcoming, and everyone we interacted with spoke English, which made things very easy. Price: 4/5 Very reasonable for Cologne -- less than €30 per person, including food and drinks. We had an especially exhausting day because our luggage was lost by the airline, so we had to make a quick trip to the train station to grab some essentials. Thankfully, both suitcases were eventually found, but they won't be delivered until tomorrow. This Korean comfort food was exactly what we needed to end the day! Overall, definitely recommend this spot if you're visiting Cologne, especially if you're staying near the Marriott and want a break from German food.

Ginti is an Indian restaurant in Köln that delivers very good food overall. The flavors were bold…read morewell seasoned and satisfying and the dishes tasted freshly prepared. From a food quality perspective it definitely stands out and is a place I would normally be happy to return to. The restaurant itself is spacious and comfortable with plenty of room between tables which makes dining feel relaxed rather than cramped. Service was generally good and the staff was attentive and polite throughout the meal. One downside was that the restaurant felt a bit too warm which made the experience slightly less comfortable especially while eating hot dishes. The bigger issue however was that the server repeatedly had a finger in or directly touching the food while serving. That was uncomfortable to see and definitely not ideal from a hygiene standpoint. That said the food was genuinely so good that I still ate it and enjoyed the meal despite that concern. Overall Ginti has excellent food and a nice space but the serving practices could use improvement to match the quality of the cooking.

Well well, they try. First of all the service is on point…read more- they are very committed to serving the guest a good time. Well, why I did have taken two stars? Cause even with German and English it was hard to understand most of the service people. And the food was mostly mediocre. Outstanding was the Chicken 65 that can be ordered as an appetizer. I would next time order it as a main, most likely even twice! It is that good! But we have been a huge group and so we tasted a lot of Indian dishes. Most of them were ok'ish not bad at all, but I had most of them in a better version elsewhere. So that is why I have to take another star down. which ends in a good three-star place. Nothing to be ashamed of.

We were seated by a friendly waiter in the front room and after a while I got curious and went exploring since regulars seemed to be going straight to the back room. Indeed, there were a couple other interesting looking rooms, and a cool little bar. But it looks like tourists like us who don't know better are put in display in the front part of the restaurant. Our waiter was apologetic about not being able to find the only English menu the place owns and had to translate the relatively short list of dishes offered. I still wonder if the English version even exists, especially after reading other reviews. Service was very slow, even though it was just my husband and I in that front room. Unfortunately, after all that waiting, the food was disappointing. I am surprised at all the good reviews raving about tasty food. After a week in Germany, we wanted something different from the local food and since my husband had been to a yummy Turkish restaurant in Dusseldorf a few days earlier, we were hoping for a similar experience. No such luck, Artistanbul offers an interesting atmosphere, but that's about it.
