Since working with Jennifer Skiba of Namastay Training, LLC., I have learned how to be a better dog owner and leader of my pack. She has taught me so many valuable skills that have enhanced my relationship with my three large dogs, as well as greatly improved their manners making them behaved and enjoyable to my family and guests. My dog, Solider, who I recently rescued was more than a handful when he arrived and after working with Jennifer, he has now become confident and now listens to my commands. His transformation is remarkable and our home has returned to a calm, peaceful balance. My two older dogs--Monte and Lulu--have also happily acquired new skills and now have better door manners and are equally respectful of one another. It has taken consistent work on my part but with Jennifer's guidance, we have accomplished so much that I never thought possible. I would recommend Jennifer to anyone who has minor and/or major training needs. When I contacted her, I was in need of major assistance with my dogs' needs. To witness the joy and the success from the work and progress that we have made is such an incredible feeling and accomplishment. I have worked with Jen for both an in home private training session for our three terriers as well as a timid dog class. Jen immediately picked up on personalities of the pack and was able to train us on techniques on how to break the pack mentality. Jen also worked with our timid dog to help her gain more confidence. During the class sessions, we were taught new techniques to stimulate our dogs and encourage good behavior. Jen trains by positive reinforcement and was even able to get our stubborn dog to cooperate. Jen made class fun by working on behaviors and techniques and then helping us to perfect how we were doing the delivery of the training. After each class, in home and on sight, Jen would provide a follow up email of what was learned during the class and a reminder for what our homework was. She also provided resources such as videos and books if we were interested in exploring the subject more. Jen also did an excellent job to show us new toys and games for the terriers to exhaust them mentally when it was too hot or cold to go for a walk. We worked with puzzles in class as well as the Chase it! Jen also constructed an obstacle course for the timid dogs so they could sniff and feel comfortable around different stimuli. Working with Jen, we developed a relationship that we knew she had our pets' interest at heart. She is definitely a dog lover and it shows in her interactions with her clients and dogs. I've found that Namastay Training is the perfect balance between personal training and affordability. You can't beat the price of Jennifer's group classes and they are a TON of fun for both me and my dog. When we had some extra training needs Jennifer was able to help us one-on-one as well. On top of that, she has always been gracious enough to answer any of our questions in between sessions via email or phone. Through Jennifer's instruction I have learned how to communicate with my dog. She helped me understand that my dog wasn't just stubborn, but that we were not "speaking" the same language. Within one private session, Jennifer had my dog beginning to understand and obey basic commands (something I had not been able to accomplish in the 5 months I had my puppy). The group classes have laid the foundation for teaching my dog to listen to me while off-leash and distracted by other dogs... something I had previously thought impossible! I have been going to Namastay Training with my pup since he was 8 weeks old and I can't tell you how pleased I have been. Rio is just about to turn 1 year old and I could not be happier with his progress. I attribute a lot of this from the guidance Jennifer has given us. I have been to other trainers with past dogs but her methods of positive reinforcement, impulse control and learning how to read and connect with your pup is spot on. Rio isn't even a year old and he does not chew on anything in the house he is not supposed to, we can drop food on the floor and he doesn't even think of going for it etc. The foundation she has helped us build will be priceless in the years to come. I am not sure where the negative review I see here comes from but it is far from my experience with Jennifer and Namastay training. I will be returning for more classes and can't wait to see where Rio is in another year as a result. We had 2 dogs (5 and 12 years old) when we added a third dog we got from rescue. Needless to say we had our hands full and were grasping at straws trying to control the herd instead of them controlling us. That's when we heard about Jennifer and Namastay. It was close to a miracle. Jennifer is great with animals and more importantly great with people. Her simple approach made it easier for us to get all of our guys behaving and getting along with others - including strangers. Jennifer provided easy training suggestions and tools and they worked almost immediately. All of our dogs absolutely adored Jennifer and even though they got a good workout, they always enjoyed it when she would come for training sessions. I met Jennifer after adopting a 6 month old German Shepherd puppy named Jewels. Anyone who knows Shepherds is aware of how stubborn they can be. Jewels was my 3rd Shepherd, so I felt confident that i could help her learn some manners, and basic commands. After months of working with her on my own, I was at my wits end! It had gotten so bad that I contemplated giving her to a shelter. Jewels was out of control! I felt like a huge failure. Then I met Jennifer, she made me realize that Jewels and I weren't communicating . Neither of us knew what the other wanted. Within the first few months Jewels and I learned so much. Jewels is turning 3 yrs old in Dec, and we have a great relationship! I can trust her at the off-leash park with other dogs. And at home she is amazing! Jennifer came to my home to help me work with my wonderful rescue dog, Romeo. We were challenged with his territorialism, manners, and general demeanor. One of the most valuable things Jennifer taught us was to help shed light on my own interaction with Romeo, and how that affected his behavior. Namastay Training puppy classes are excellent for three reasons: We humans learn critical skills for leading and living with our pups (soon to be full-grown dogs!), our puppies learn equally important skills about how to be well-behaving dogs in our human world, and all of this good, loving and supportive learning is done in a relaxed and FUN environment. The kids, the puppy and I really looked forward to our weekly classes. I cannot thank Jennifer enough for teaching my entire family and our puppy the basics of puppy training. We continue to have a great experience with Jennifer as our dog trainer. Our dog wasn't a "bad" dog by any means, but we needed solutions for some of his behavior. I met Jennifer when I finally realized I had no control over my 2 boxers!! I felt trapped in my house. The younger one would fence fight with the dog behind me and then on walks he would lunge and try to attack other dogs that walked by. Now, thanks to Jennifer, I can live life like a normal person. I had a dog with aggression issues and registered for a class. A couple days later the aggression increased and I opted for euthansia rather than taking a chance of some one getting hurt.
