But now having experienced this teams level of precision and attention to detail during a recent manicure, I can understand why I will often walk past and see the store full with ladies treating themselves. $35 bought me a shellac manicure which, compared to CBD counterparts, comes in as cheap as chips. And yet, as I mentioned above, the dedicated and detail taken was better than some I've paid more for. My nail technician took what looked like painstaking detail to ensure the polish was just right, rounding the nail bed with a small paint brush to ensure none of the colour went "outside the lines". The atmosphere was calm and a complimentary bottle of water offered. They might take a little longer but it's worth it, in my opinion.

They have recently updated their chairs and they give a brilliant massage right up to your neck. For $50 you can get a spa pedicure and gel overlay polish. I love the big leather lounges that gently massage your back while your tootsies are pampered. You pop your feet into a foot spa located at the base of a soothing massage chair. Your attendant will usually give your leg a light tap when she wants you to lift your foot out of the water. They start by scrubbing your feet all over with a beautiful exfoliating scrub. After the exfoliation your feet are rubbed with a pumice stone and any hard areas are removed with a callus shaver. Your feet are then placed back into the foot spa for a few minutes, dried and massaged with a rich moisturising cream. The gel overlay polish is my favourite because it doesn't chip and it lasts around a month which suits me because I usually only go once every four to six weeks. There are so many beautiful colours to choose from. The best thing about this place is that they have a customer loyalty program so for every third visit you get $5 off.

As other reviewers mentioned, conversation is pretty much non-existent due to language barriers but this doesn't turn out to be too bad after the initial shock. The ladies there are great at what they do and did a very good job. The language issue wasn't really a problem to be honest, however it probably would be nice if one of them spoke fluent English just so they could help out with general questions and conversation. The lady I had kept on giving me constant compliments about myself and what I was wearing which was very sweet and flattering. Personally I think they're all friendly, they do a good job and are well priced - I'd definitely go back there again.

I treated myself to a half hour Reflexology session ($30) and then the Classic Pedicure ($50), and was in there for over an hour and a half! Sole Indulgence is a home based business, however the treatment room is very professional looking and it's a very quiet area, so it was very peaceful in the room. It's only just down the road from the Aspley Coles Supermarket, but you don't have to battle shopping centre parking at Sole Indulgence. There's a parking space in the driveway for customers and plenty of street parking. The room is clean and professional looking, and the chair is specially for foot treatments - you lay back, with the chair supporting your lower back and your feet are elevated. This chair is soooo comfortable, before Carolyn even touched my feet, I was feeling relaxed and could have totally fallen asleep. She started with the reflexology, which was a soothing massage. I was so relaxed, I almost dozed a couple of times. I had mentioned an occasional sore shoulder and she said she could feel it in my feet, but also some neck pain on the other side - which is actually true, I often get pain in my left side of my neck if I sleep on that side! The pedicure was a much gentler experience then some of those Nail bars/foot spas in shopping centres. There was no cheese-grater used on my heels, rather it was gently buffed off. As Carolyn also works at The Podiatry Point in Stafford, all of her pedicure equipment is sterilised and individually packaged. So no sharing nail clippers between customers! The products used at Sole Indulgence are all chemical-free where possible and certified organic essential oils in the creams. I will definitely be going back to Sole Indulgence again on a regular basis. My feet look and feel fantastic and the prices are very reasonable for the level of service you're getting. Appointments can be made Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9am-5pm, late night on Thursdays until 7pm. Saturday morning too by appointment only. Currently they don't have EFTPOS or credit card facilities but you can pay by direct deposit, or cash.

After a few weeks of high-stress, generally packed schedules and just dealing with LIFE (#firstworldproblems, am I right?) I booked my partner and I in for an afternoon of relaxation. Having visited Stephanies previously for one of our Yelp Elite Events, I knew just how restorative a visit to the mountains combined with the luxury spa experience Stephanies' provides would be. We arrived about 10 minutes early to ensure we were able to complete paperwork prior to our appointment. We were then shown to the change rooms where we entered comfort-mode in our fluffly, white robes. Our afternoon began with a steam therapy treatment which involves a lot of body scrub, mud masking and steam. I'd highly recommend it as starting point for your treatments as it was a great way to set my mind into relax mode and not "racing with a million thoughts an hour" mode. Following a quick return to the client lounge for a few more cups of berry tea and water we were taken to the couple's treatment room. Now, the Stephanies salon beds are unlike any you've ever rested upon. I was even more surprised when, upon indicating on my form I have lower back issues, my therapist adjusted my bed to elevate my knees and upper body (like a hospital bed) to ensure there was little strain on my lower back. Our treatments (him a massage, me a Thalgo facial) ran for maybe 45mins to 1 hour but it felt quite a bit longer. The facial itself was equal parts relaxing and reenergizing for my skin which was sporting the colour "Winter Dull". Stephanies is a true experience. It isn't the place, well at least not this location, for a quick last-minute treatment. It is worth taking the entire day and enjoying lunch upon the deck at the adjoining restaurant. Heck, take all the mountain air you can get!

Upon arrival you can do a complete three sixty, with views of Brisbane City, to the Glasshouse Mountains, Lakes and Vineyards and beyond. Who knew it was right on our doorstep?! We really do live in a really special part of the world Stephanies Mountain Spa and The Mercure Resort would be perfect for hens weekends, Mother-Daughter Days, A Ladies weekend, Couples Retreat... hey I'd even recommend to any of my friends to get married up there too and have to complete wedding experience with Spa treatments and serenity. This is definitely a place that is worth coming back for. Stephanies Philosophy is one that is passionate about the spa experience, that is "Embrace new technologies, respect ancient rituals, step away from the ordinary and create breathtaking treatments". This is exactly what she does at the Mountain Spa as it boasts six treatment suites, a triple treatment room, a VIP lounge and Bath suite (where you can soak in your bath of rose petals on the top floor admiring the view, before receiving all treatments with your partner on jumbsized heated massage beds), a steam therapy lounge (which is like being steamed up amongst the stars), a unique Hydro Swiss Shower room (so many shower heads, you do't need to move a muscle to get clean) and the spa is completed with a Sole Theraphy and manicure lounge plus a ladies gossip lounge as well so you can enjoy the finer things in life with you gal pals like the three cs champagne, cupcakes and chocolate in your fluffy robes whilst awaiting total bliss by spa. I personally received one of the best back and scalp massages that I have ever received at Stephanies, The quality of service is supreme and the personality of the staff is the upmost in hospitality, plus the german style massage table was great too by being larger than normal and having inbuilt heating! It was an amazing and aromatic experience. I would thoroughly recommend this retreat to everyone and have already starting plotting my return to this spa to sample further treatments from their extensive list.

Beauty Stop is located in the Woolworths building at the Airport DFO. They operate roughly 9am-5pm…read moredaily, with a later start on a Sunday. Parking is free onsite, and they take walk-ins and bookings. No late night shopping Thursdays - if you're a full time desk jockey like me, I'd book in for your weekend appointment. I've been a regular here for over 2 years; I'm in first thing on a Saturday morning every 3-5 weeks. The reason I first started going was the location; I'd been working as a cook at one of the cafes out at the DFO and Beauty Stop was the closest, competitively priced salon I could get pampered at after a hard slog. DFO staff get a discount of either 10 or 20%, and there are loyalty cards which offer a $5 discount after five visits and a $10 discount after ten, so it's worth checking it out, as long as you don't mind getting addicted! Ambience **** Kylie runs Beauty Stop and it's fitout is four nail stations, four pedi chairs and two privacy rooms for waxing and tanning; she usually has decorations sprinkled all over the place for Valentines Day and Christmas. The radio is set to 96.5FM for which Kylie gets some slack for from her co-workers, but at least you know there isn't any hard doof-doof on, or half a movie you hadn't seen yet playing on the TV. The other regulars I've seen are up for a chat with each other, compare nails, shoot the breeze - this really is a comfy atmosphere where you're not really feeling rushed (not that I'm there at peak hour) and you can chill and enjoy your service. Services on offer ***** Of the extensive services on offer, I've sampled permanent tattooing (top lid eyeliner), manicure, pedicure (and I'm a nervous ninny when it comes to people touching my feet!), waxing (Kylie managed to convince me to get my pits done and I have NEVER looked back, though she still can't talk me into a bikini or a Brazilian, everything else is now fair game!), acrylic and gel nails, shellac (highly recommended compared to regular nail polish!), and piercing. They also offer spray tans, eyelash extensions, massages, tooth bling and skin care product consulting. The only service I'd want which is not on offer is eyelash perming, which I have found elsewhere. But if I could get it all done at the one place, that would be mint! Service ***** Your best bet is to book in advance if you can; walk-ins are always welcome but you might be looking at a 15-30 minute wait - best not to be in a rush. If they're busy they'll give you a rough time of when to come back, or you could ask if they'll be quieter later because salons are all about looking and feeling good, and that's not something you can express service. There are enough places in walking distance that you can shop, eat, and drink and come back. If you've ever been turned off by the silent, mask-faced bandits at the Professionails or American Nails salons, you'll love it here. The crew at Beauty Stop are up for a natter while they pamper you and a few of them have been tagged as preferred by their customers. Don't be afraid to pipe up in the middle of your nail service if you want a change - and don't be afraid to go as wild or as tame with designs as you like - they seem to have them all, just remember there are small surcharges for designs and toppers - all of which are listed on their price list. Additional notes: There are usually promotions going on at Beauty Stop on a seasonal basis - if it isn't on the website, ask when you call up to book if there are any promos going on, there almost always are! It's been a while since I compared prices, but I've never felt over-charged, and probably never will, given that I have the reassurance that they know me by face, I'm comfortable asking for whatever I want, and generally show up in whatever 'morning after a Friday night' shape I present myself in.
