The actual facial I received here was incredible. I would call VALO a demi spa in that it has some amenities, but not that many. They do have a nice locker room and offer spa style robes and sandals, and you can take a shower after your service if you like, but they don't have a hot tub, a sauna, a steam room, etc. Their robes were pretty size inclusive, the biggest one I saw was a two XL. The facial room itself was nicely appointed, and had a feature I haven't seen in a long time, which was a little light display on the ceiling that was very soothing. The facial bed/table was very comfortable and ergonomic. The facialist was warm and friendly, but professional. She spoke to explain things as she was doing them, and to warn me when something would be cold or bright, but didn't speak so often that I felt like she was interrupting my Zen. I can tell she was very well trained, and her massage technique was excellent. Her hands felt experienced, and the way she moved from treatment to treatment was seamless. The only thing I noticed that could be improved upon was the volume of the music in the lobby. I really like the music they had, which was sort of a more modern spa track, but as the receptionist was giving me the tour, she spoke with her back to me and between that and the music I couldn't hear what she was saying.

It is so nice and quiet, and even waiting for your appointment is part of the experience. Sitting in their dimly lit lounge, wearing a luxurious robe, sipping a delicious cup of tea, and watching the "flames" dance in the firepit...it feels so indulgent, and since phones aren't allowed, it forces you to just be present for a little bit. I usually go for facials, and I love the Swedish Maria Åkerberg products they use. These are also available for purchase. Halle is a wonderful aesthetician, and I always feel so refreshed and relaxed when I leave. They provide the robe and slippers, and have lockers to keep your belongings in during the appointment. The locker room also has a shower, and some complimentary hair products and deodorant available for use. Everyone is always so friendly, and the prices are really comparable to other spas in town.
