I took a chance with Yelp to find a contractor after the four referred by friends couldn't come to…read moreour works for at least 3 months. We usually reserve this kind of work for people we know or recommended by people we trust. So, I was a little skeptical about how it would turn out. Michael definitely delivered. He showed up the next day to give a quote, sent me a quote a couple of days later, and then started the job two weeks from my initial inquiry. So the first part of this review is that he showed up in a timely manner, which was something 4 other people failed to do. He worked on our basement drywall after we had a flood. He replaced the bottom half of what was cut out, put in trim, and painted. He also built us a wall split up the giant space. It all turned out really well and I couldn't be more happy with it. My only complaint, but not enough to lower my stars, was that due to our basement set up, all the spackling sanding ended up on our first floor (there's no door down to the basement). It was everywhere. If you'll have this same issue, I'd recommend putting up some sort of plastic barrier. If you need drywall repair, give Michael a call! He also accepts Venmo, which was a plus for us.

Very affordable, hardworking, skilled and very professional contractors! These guys tackled not…read moreonly a water damaged drywall repair/replacement job in the kitchen but also solved a major plumbing problem in an upstairs bathroom that a reputable plumber completely missed. They cut through the ceiling to get to the root of the leak issue, removed bad pipes from behind the ceramic tub, installed all new PVC pipes behind and underneath the bathtub, and also installed new fixtures, a new waste drain and overflow sysyems before closing everything up with new drywall, tiles and/or a fresh coat of paint. They did a fantastic job at a price that will beat any competitor! I highly recommend Mike and John for any job that requires a competent, experienced contractor!

I posted this on Google as well (and went much more in detail), but would like to share my personal…read moreexperience of a renovation from Mendr. Starting on day 1, a subcontracted demo crew arrived along with Marcus from your team. They accidentally nicked a knob and tube wire along with 2 pipes. We did not know at the time, and noone from your team told us even though I have video proof they knew earlier that morning. We later found out when OUR plumber came to check on the pipes and noticed the mistakes and pointed it out to all workers present at that time. Knowing these pipes were nicked, they closed the floor anyway with the active leak inside. Following installation of the toilet and shower head, when I went to use the toilet, water came spewing through my ceiling downstairs- The team refused to acknowledge responsibility, initially stating it was the radiator regardless of my insisting. Upon locating the leak was actually in a drain pipe, they then said it was the subcontractors fault for nicking the pipe, completely ignoring the fact that if it wasn't enclosed under flooring, this would not have been an issue. Along with this issue, I had multiple concerns with professionalism and communication throughout. I was never told who would be coming on what day, and I encountered about 6 different workers in the time Mendr worked on my house. I was told Marcus would be my project lead, and he was only present the first 2 days. When we would relay a message to one worker, they would not relay it to the others, which lead to huge gaps in communication. We would ask for things to be done a certain way, and the team would ignore and do it the way "they always do it", even when resulting in poor installation of the sister beams, flooring, and cutting into my stack pipe for the exhaust fan. Your team did not put any tarps down unless we asked them to and even then, did not fix them when they would rip. There were multiple discussions regarding safety issues I caught on camera as well that your team still tries to pawn onto the subcontractors I didn't even know were coming. The absolute worst part about this team regardless of all the issues I encountered in my home is that your team still refuses to be held accountable, and does not seem sympathetic in the least for any of the damage caused in my home. I have photo and video proof as well as multiple other professionals who stated the work your team provided may as well be illegal with the lack of safety concern and poorly following ANY coding guidelines. Even with all of this, Kyle, you still try to deny claims and report the subcontractors did it- completely ignoring ANY of your teams responsibility in this matter. Do better, Do not rip people off if you can not handle the project. We deserve our down payment back, none of the work you performed was actually usable! You are only as professional as ALL of your employees and it has been made clear you do not send the same employees for all of your jobs.

We are so please to have found Rittenhouse Handyman. A little backstory: we have a condo in Philly,…read more our son used to live there and now it's a rental. We needed work in a ceiling that had been cut out to do a/c work. The contractor left it as is. Our tenant and us, just let it go, to be fair, but now since he's moving, we had to have the work done. I had emailed and called the handyman that the property manager uses for the entire building. I thought he knew the place and since it was familiar to him, a no brainer to use him. After waiting and leaving several messages, absolutely no response whatsoever. I found Rittenhouse Handyman on Yelp. It was very easy to schedule and appointment. No hassle at all. I sent them a picture of the problem and they sent me a fair estimate. What's really amazing is that they were responsive, easy to schedule an appointment with, and they showed up and did the work as promised. They did the work and they kept their word. Folks, we know how hard it is to find good people that keep their word and stick to it. I'm amazed how easy it was to schedule an appointment. We have two other rentals in the boonies in the Sierra Foothills in California and getting people to call you back and actually show up to do the work is hell. It's literally hit or miss and we have dealt with a lot of bait and switch folks, too. They quote you one price and lo and behold, there's more stuff that needs to be done. Rittenhouse is upfront, fair pricing and it was so easy to pay, too. Thank you Rittenhouse Handyman and special thanks to Melissa for helping us set it up.
