Let me start by saying that I've been a die hard dip powder girl for years. I moved to Meridian in…read moreJuly and have since bounced from nail salon to nail salon just trying to get a decent dip mani. I found myself disappointed over and over again by poor quality work, lack of attention to details, and even some less than stellar customer service. Frustrated, I reached out to Nail Therapy on Facebook and found out that they don't do dip, but their reviews were so good and the person running their Facebook was so friendly, I decided to give a gel manicure a go. Jay Si was SUPER friendly, professional, answered all of my questions thoroughly. He made sure I was happy with my nails shape and everything before putting the gel on. He was very detail oriented and I LOVE how my nails turned out--despite the fact that I had to temporarily go shorter due to the damage that the dip powder had done over the years. Jay Si made the point that part of why they don't do dip is because it's unsanitary and the more I pondered that thought--it really is just you jamming your finger in the same jar that 25 other people stuck their fingers in. Yuck! I also had the pleasure of enjoying Victorias company when I was there. She was super sweet, funny, food-motivated (Like myself lol) and made the experience all the more enjoyable. I've heard she's also a great nail tech and if Jay Si was ever unavailable, I wouldn't hesitate to let her do my nails! I'm definitely a dip to gel convert now and already have my next appointment booked!

Relocating to a new area is difficult; especially, when you make attempts to identify quality…read moreservices. When I entered the establishment earlier in the day, there was a younger white woman and a middle-aged Vietnamese man present. They both were engaged in conversations with two white guest. Both made direct eye contact with me, yet neither greeted me, welcomed me in, or instructed me to sign in -- which is the standard and expected process when a patron enters your business. The lack of basic acknowledgment was immediately noticeable and unprofessional. Due to a prior meeting, I had to leave before being seen. I returned at 2:30 PM and signed in for a gel polish change. At that time, there were three white customers seated in pedicure chairs. The same young white woman approached them without ever looking in my direction or acknowledging my presence, despite my being clearly seated and waiting. At 2:39 PM -- twenty-one minutes before closing -- the Vietnamese gentleman approached me. As I began explaining the service I was requesting, he interrupted me to state that the salon closes at 3:00 PM. The interaction was abrupt and dismissive. The contrast in treatment was apparent. The only plausible explanation, outside of a severe lapse in professionalism and customer service standards, is that my ethnicity did not warrant the same courtesy extended to the white patrons in the salon. I ultimately chose to take my business to Venus Spa down the street, where I was greeted immediately upon entering and offered water while I waited -- the baseline standard of hospitality any paying customer should expect.
