This place gets 3 stars for service not quality. My nails always look nice (not excellenct) when I leave. But today was it. I understand if it's busy your in a rush. But not every time. When I go in and they don't ask me if I want a drink and others get asked I don't like that, I have only been asked as an after thought when they got everyone else drinks and was like oh yea are you thirsty? I don't get asked if I want a different treatment they give me the most basic of the basic others get asked. I look forward to my nail appointments and being pampered. I don't mind paying extra for good service. I'm not expecting super spa treatment but treat everyone the same. Ask if people want additional services or longer foot massage. I think a lot of the employees are nice and. Hardworking but the owners are pushing you through and I don't like that. read more

I had an appointment this afternoon. No one spoke to me & the woman doing my nails was annoyed & yelling at a man working there in another language. It was a rather uncomfortable feeling. I asked if something was wrong & told her I had an appointment. She apologized to another woman for making her wait, I assume because she had to do my nails. There was dip powder all over my skin & none of my nails are the same length. I had to come home & refile them. I have never had worse service or worse looking nails! She rushed and clearly was either blind or just did not care. The price I was quoted when I made the appointment was not the price I was charged. If you want crappy nails & like getting ripped off- go here!!! One star for this salon is a gift. I could not give a zero or I certainly would have!!! read more

Had an appointment for 3pm for three people. I never understand why some nail places allow you to make an appointment, then make you wait because they have no one available. My mom, grandmother, and I all wanted pedicures and we had one lady do all three of our in a row. Which was fine because we got to sit next to each other but I went first then had to wait from the other two to finish. The pedicures were good though and the place is very clean and the staff are friendly so they get some credit on that part. read more

I agree with many on here that this place is not it. I don't live in the area but will stop in here as my friend lives nearby. We've gone here for convenience and the fact I've been happy with their work in the past. Today was the last time I'll be back. My pedicure was wonderful but my manicure was another story. The gentleman who did my manicure was so rude and thought he was above any other nail tech. Others have shared this already. I'm disappointed that after photos I shared of precious work, I didn't get what I wanted. I appreciate the effort but there was zero listening or understanding of what I exactly wanted. Please don't also share you can do something if you really can't execute. That's okay but prefer to know before I receive something subpar. I don't even live in the area anymore and I still have PTSD from this place when I walk into any nail salon. I consider this the worst nail salon I've ever been to. The owner(manager? Live in troll?) Is a huge douche bag who will interject his opinion on your manicure, if he doesn't like what you're getting he will make fun of you and tell you what he thinks you should be getting instead. He will hate on anything about you he doesn't like. I gave this place a few chances because it's one of the only in North liberty and each time he tried to tell me to get something else, something ugly that I wouldn't want. It was straight up offensive. Avoid this place because it's very toxic. They care more about insulting you than just shutting up and giving you what you are asking/paying for. read more

I went here to get dip done on my nails for the first time. The guy was very friendly, but I felt rushed to pick a color and sit down. The process was a quick one, and the whole time he kept repeatedly saying, "Wow I did a good job" and "these are so beautiful." And I did like them, but then when I got home, I could comfortably inspect them. I noticed they were so lumpy!!! I could physically see the lumps on each nail. I thought this was normal for dip at first, but then my friend told me that is definitely not normal. I definitely won't be going here for dip nails in the future. read more

I rate them as a 2/3 because of their service and not the quality of their work which is pretty great. Whenever I come, I ask if there's a wait and I'm always told no and to take a seat. After 40 minutes of sitting in the pedicure chair with my feet turned to prunes , I still haven't been approached or even asked if I'd like something to drink. All nail shops get busy and thats expected but I'm shocked to see the number of people sitting in salon chairs and not being worked on. Also the pace of everything is just slower than most shops. I'd expect them to pick up the pace when it's busy but they don't. So come and expect good quality but expect to be here for HOURS even if you have an "appointment" If you need to be somewhere relatively soon , go downtown to Elite Nails. read more

Although this is my go to for a gel manicure, I don't think I'll be returning for a pedicure. I didn't get my usual people, and that must explain the experience. I have a distinct line through my big toe where the color was not sealed, and my toes chipped within days. First off, a 1 Star review is being generous, they would be getting a 0 if it were possible. I've now had two terrible experiences here and will never go back. I came back this time because of time restraints and proximity. I walked in, the lady didn't greet or ask what I needed today I had to interrupt her from her cell phone and tell her I wanted a mani/pedi. Then she yelled across the room to someone else, whom was working with another client, and told me to take a seat in chair 3 where I currently sit as she stares at her cellphone. After sitting here for about 10 minutes I got up and asked her to put water in the pedi bowl so I wasn't just sitting here, she ordered someone else to do it, the water was so hot I had to take my feet out. This place is not where you want to go if you appreciate decent customer service and having your nails done by professionals. They consistently make you wait for far too long,even when you have an appointment. They tell you what THEY want to do on your nails, and then the work isn't even done well. I have given them multiple chances hoping I just got somebody having a bad day. However, they have disappointed without fail each time I have tried to give them another chance. As a side note, I see other customers mentioning being ignored and cell phones. They constantly sit on cell phones while customers sit and wait to be helped and I can't tell you how often I have seen/ heard them arguing and yelling at other employees in front of clients, very unprofessional to say the least. I have given up trying to give them the benefit of doubt. Take yourself, time, and money elsewhere as you are far more likely to leave satisfied at another salon that actually takes pride in their work and truly cares for their clientele. read more

This review is based on two visits for pedicures, a group of 3 or 4 of us, once with an appointment and once without (we were told they were not busy and didn't need one). Both times there were other customers but the salon was not extremely busy. Both times we were told to sit in empty pedicure chairs and the bowls were filled and our feet started soaking. Both times, one of us waited just a few minutes before someone started her pedicure while the others waited for quite some time until another manicurist freed up. The horrific service at Nail Art encouraged me to sign up for yelp. It was busy but I have been there 5-6 times and the women or men working never say hello. You wander around and just stand while waiting to be acknowledged. Sometimes they offer you something to drink, sometimes they don't. Very inconsistent service. I was waiting ten minutes sitting in the chair for someone to just come turn on the water. A service that usually takes 20-30 minutes became an excruciating hour. I've been there several times and the last time they gave me a stamp card where you get your 12th service 7 dollars off. I asked how long have they been doing that, they said years. Even after talking with the owner about the horrible service, never being told or offered the frequent/stamp card. They just don't value customers and have no professional customer service training at all. I show up ask for eyebrow waxing, just to clean up messy manbrows. I wasn't asking for anything crazy like make my ugly mug look like Brad Pitt or David Beckham so I figured I'd be out in 15 minutes like at other places. I get an employee who looks like she was in need of waxing herself. Goes to apply the wax on my eyebrows and I expect warm to hot type of wax. It was SCOLDING. I didn't think she'd try to burn my damn eyebrows off. After telling her the wax was too hot, she began to blow air and probably blew spit onto the damn stick (I would imagine it's against health code) she was hesitant to apply it afterwards and had to do the same area 4 times. Needless to say, my damn eyebrows were irritated and made me look like I got through boxing w Mike Tyson. Plenty pissed. Won't return if they paid me. The reviews before look good for nails but as far as waxing goes, STAY AWAY, you're better off using a flame thrower on your face. read more

I typically go to salons to get pedicures but on a whim, I decided to stop in to Nail Art for one. Everyone was super friendly and someone seated me right away after I selected my polish. It was my first pedicure since the winter and the woman was great at trimming my cuticles and exfoliating my feet. She put the gel polish on perfectly and it still looks great a couple weeks later. Made an appointment for 5pm and did not get helped until 5:30. Once they decided they were ready for me i was told I would have to wait until someone was available to do shellac on my nails. I said it was not a problem to do dip, as I am not picky with shellac or dip nails. The lady proceeded to yell at me and said I needed to make a decision right then and there. It was absolutely disrespectful and she proceeded to whisper something to her co worker. After waiting another 20 minutes for the 1 of 3 workers there, someone finally helped me. While I was still waiting I witnessed multiple people come in that stood at the front and were not acknowledged, they walked out. I have been here before and was satisfied but my time here today was just not even close to decent. The male who did my nails told me I wouldn't look good with the shape I wanted based on the way I walked and talked (wtf?). I also showed a picture of the shape I wanted and he did nothing close to the shape I showed in the picture (coffin shape). After leaving I noticed half of the tops of my nails were filed crooked and were very chunky at the bases of all my nails. I could also see the streaks from the gel polish. I cried because I wanted them to look so good and they were so not. I spent 60 dollars here and the service provided was awful. I was rushed out because other people had been waiting an hour due to lack of workers at such a busy time. I know some of the employees here do a wonderful job but it was enough for my experience this one time to make me not want to return. read more

Showed a picture of the ombre nails I wanted. The person doing my nails explained that it is easier to do if I had dip. She removed my acrylics nails,for extra cost,but I was ok with it because I wanted ombre. As she is doing the dip I ask if the ombre was painted on or part of the dip. She said dip. So she keeps going, they are all one color and she asked me to move to the drying station. Never having dip or ombre done before I assume it needs to dry, then we do the next step. I sit for a bit,she tells me to wash my hands and come up to pay. I asked about the ombre she acted surprised, said she did not know I wanted that and there must have been a miscommunication. Having showed a picture I am not sure how there would be a miscommunication. I think it was taking more time than she wanted to spend because she mentioned it taking a lot of time to take off the acrylics. Never again going back! read more

This place has some of the worst service I've experienced. I have frequented nail art for the past couple of years because it's convenient, and close to home, and because I value those things over service for a routine mani/pedi. However, my experience with my bridal party this summer was atrocious. I booked an appointment 3 months in advance for myself, my bridesmaids, and my mom. At the time of booking they said there were no other appointments for that day. I called a week before to verify that they still had us on the schedule and verify the number and services. I also spoke to the woman about our time frame and asked to make sure our appointment would allow enough time to be done when we needed to be. She said it was no problem. When we arrived we found that in the meantime they had booked a bridal party of 11 for only one hour before us. Not only that, but they were still accepting walk-ins. We sat and waited for 45 minutes before they even started with anyone in our party, while watching walk-ins slide in ahead of us. It seemed they already knew they had our business and that we had to stay and took advantage of that to work in more business at our expense. One bridesmaid sat waiting until all of us were finished after I told 3 different people she was part of our reservation and to please start on her next and then watched each of those people proceed to start on another walk-in instead. The product is average at best and this is a fine place to go if you just need a quick mani or pedi, but if you need something special go elsewhere for sure. read more
