Stayed at Nacpan Beach Glamping 1/8/20-1/11/20 during my daughter's 30th birthday trip. The pics are absolutely legit! It's exactly how it looks. We had an amazing time.
We rented a private van from Puerto Princessa to El Nido. The drive was long and twisty, but very pretty. They will visit rest stops that have bathrooms and snacks. The bathrooms are fine (you are in the country), but you flush manually with a tabo. Two scoops did the trick. Gravity is your friend. I would say during my stay in the PI, I ALWAYS had baby wipes with me. You should do the same. Most bathrooms, even in the countryside have hand bidets (google it). Be prepared to donate for the bathrooms.
After about 4 hours, you will get into El Nido proper and start seeing signs. We paid extra to have the private van take us directly to Nacpan Beach. So worth it. I think we paid $5000 pesos between 7 people. $15 dollars plus tip. Nacpan Beach is about 40 minutes past El Nido proper. 20 minutes travel on the main road and an additional 20 min when you leave the main road and go on a super sketchy road to the beach. Check in is an office with the lounge/waiting area all outdoors. We were greeted with ice tea and necklaces. They do not accept CCs there. There was a 3000 pesos deposit, or they can hold your passport. We gave them the 3000 pesos. They do check the tent BEFORE they refund you the deposit at the end of your stay. They have staff that carry your luggage from the check in to your tent... tip them. It's far and it's all sand. You can also arrange for the staff to carry your luggage from the tent to the van on your departure. Your roller luggage is useless.
The tents are amazing. Beds very nice. Clean inside. However, remember you are still camping. The AC does NOT run during the day and inside the tent was miserable. It was so hot. You are not there to stay inside the tent. We did not find this an issue as we were gone all day. The air is turned on at 4pm, and the tents are completely cooled and comfortable. We slept perfectly. I believe the staff comes around and turns them on while you are gone so the tent is cool when you arrive from excursions. That was very nice. I didn't think this was a negative, but just wanted to mention it. The bathrooms are shared. Each structure has 2 bathrooms on each side. There is a closed shower and a closed toilet and a sink between the 2. The bathroom was absolutely sufficient and clean. The grounds are STUNNING. So pretty and well maintained. Staff was constantly working.
There is a turtle hatchery. We saw 3 different sets of eggs hatch and be released into the ocean. It's usually around a full moon.
The restaurant is outdoors and had live music. Our breakfast buffet was included. The beach is a swim-able beach. It truly is a beautiful beach and deserves all the recognition. They staff worked really hard and assisted us with tours and transportation. There is an ATM at the neighboring Mad Monkey hostel. We will be back. read more
