We had a lovely time at Cauayan Resort in El Nido. The resort is on its own beautiful little island. There are many activities to choose from (weather permitting), including island hopping, scuba diving, yoga, massages, trekking, and sunset cruises. We happened to be there at the end of a spell of windy weather, so the activities were dependent on the Coast Guard's boating guidelines. We did get to do a day and a half of island hopping and a session of scuba. Keep in mind that at this resort, the activities have to be coordinated from within the resort services, and prices are more expensive. The scuba diving was cool because we got to see a sea turtle! There are some sea turtles that nest on the island, and you can see them swim in the waves from the beach.
The resort has restaurant services including breakfast buffet, dining room lunch and dinner, and bar snacks. We found that all of the food was amazing. We didn't have one bad meal! Favorites included the cauliflower soup, seafood kare kare, nachos, and laksa. The drinks were also very good. We chose the unlimited package, so we tried a lot of the cocktails. I really liked the Bramble and the Pina Coladas.
The spa is very special because you can get a relaxing massage AND watch fish and reef sharks through a glass window on the floor of the spa. So cool!
The staff here was friendly and very polite. They cater to a very upscale, luxurious resort experience. We enjoyed being here for our honeymoon. read more
