We had a great stay at Discovery Coron over New Years'. Superb customer service. My daughter left her purse in our room upon checkout. We didn't know it was missing until they notified us at the airport. They took it back to the airport from the resort via boat and van. Nothing was missing including cash in her wallet. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. The New Year's Eve party was amazing with dancers, band, fireworks. It was quite a feast. Highly recommend the island hopping tour which goes to Diatoy island and the Coron island tour which goes to the Twin lagoon and Kayangan lake. We had lunch at kalachuchi beach (plumeria beach). Highly recommend going to Sinag restaurant for Filipino food. I was craving Bibingka and puto bong bong which are traditional holiday desserts with honey ginger tea - salabat. Try their pork sisig and beef bulalo soup. The Glow spa is the perfect place to get a massage, facial and body scrub. There is also a dive shop in the resort. We went on a shore dive and rented a GoPro. We saw a lobster , spotted rays, moray eel, clownfish, and giant clam. I recommend getting the Dive+ app to edit the videos and photos to their natural color otherwise it will all look green.

The idea of being stuck in an island for four entire days is a welcome thought for someone like I who works in advertising. Thanks to the Philippines' mandatory long weekend during Holy Week and Dad's willingness to finance this family trip, we got to experience what I would call probably one of the Philippines' best solitary island resort experience: Club Paradise. Club Paradise is located in Coron, specifically in Dimakya Island. Though the island is secluded from the many islands surrounding Coron, it's a mere 20-minute van plus 40-minute boat ride away from the Busuanga airport (approximately a 60-minute flight from Manila). The trip was painless, and at the boat, guests immediately experience the impeccable hospitality of the Club Paradise staff. At the boat going to the resort, we were treated an almost-unnecessary egg sandwich and bottle of water and an initial briefing of what to expect at the island. Reaching the shores of Dimakya is almost magical. As we land on beige-to-white-colored fine sand that gets swallowed by the aquamarine seawater, we are greeted by live music and some refreshments before another staff orients us of the more specific details regarding our stay. We finally arrive in our room, and although you can feel the oldness of the resort, its charm lies in how comfortable hotel-living is nestled in nature--hiking trails, palm trees and hill tops. At the other side of the resort is another shore, and though this one is more rocky and not really for swimming, the view if the sea and the constant sound of waves crashing are breathtaking nonetheless. Aside from the nice villas, there are also condo-type suites that offer a more modern feel for your stay. The most expensive rooms however according to our guide are the ones fronting the beach. We were delighted to know that in-island activities and equipment rentals, like the swimming pool, kayaking (they even have a transparent glass kayak!), snorkeling, karaoke, movie room, not to mention occasional film-showings under the stars, are free of charge. For a fee, guests can also go island-hopping around Coron, have diving lessons with their resident dive club, and my favorite, get a massage at the resort's Glow Spa. Let us talk about the food! A buffet breakfast is normally included in the package, but guests can also opt to dine ala carte. I can't stress enough how impressive even the lunch and dinner buffet menus were! There's always a theme for the cuisine, and the four days we were there, we got to experience a lot--French, Italian, East Asian, and of course Filipino, just to name a few. Everything from appetizers to desserts would be following the night's theme. The consistency was just impressive. To top it all off, the resort sometimes moves the dinner from the restaurant to the beachfront for a more romantic yet no less delicious experience. Some of the highlights from our stay at the island: 1. Trail-hiking to Eagle's Point, which they say is a resting place for the Philippine Eagle. 2. Fruit bats residing in the island, who go flying and screeching around in the air looking for food come 5pm. In the day, you'll see them all asleep and hanging in the trees, like dried leaves. 3. A wonderful massage at the Glow Spa. They offer unique massages like the Hilot (traditional Filipino massage) and Herbal Ball. Though the spa manager could come off a a bit too pushy, and surprisingly, she discouraged us to avail of some of the items on the spa menu. Finally, the resort staff are all such darlings. Everyone from the manager, Joe, to the servers, the houskeeping staff, lifeguards, and security personnel, are all very friendly. They never fail to greet us "Happy Summer!" or "Good morning/afternoon/evening!" complete with a smile and a hand resting on their chest whenever we pass them by. The steep rates might seem very expensive compared to other resorts in Coron, but I would definitely go back and pay for as much again for that kind of service, food, security and the exclusivity of such a beautiful work of nature.

Place of unparalleled beauty. Eco-tourism hot spot. Filipino owned! I highly recommend the four hour island hopping and snorkeling tour. Scuba and snorkeling right off the island are both incredible and worth the trip. My previous dives were off Cabo, Bahamas and Jamaica. This experience is entirely on another level. Every underwater head turn offers a completely new awe inspiring view...sea turtles, Sharks, underwater snakes, jellyfish, sting rays and countless fish and coral species of the most brilliant colors. Finding Nemo? It must have been filmed here. ;)

Came here on 2/21/26 via Cebu Pacific. We were met at Busuangga airport and brought to the port by van. It took 15 minutes from the airport to the port and 40 minutes by boat from port to the resort. Service from the airport driver, boat greeter/guide, reception, housekeeping and restaurant staff at Sinag restaurant gave very attentive, friendly and speedy service. We had dinner at Sinag. They served a complimentary basket of two flavors of pan de Sal (plain and malunggay). Oh my goodness! We could have had 20 of these. They were soft, freshly baked and fluffy. Then, we ordered kare-kare, Bacolod sinugba grilled pork belly, ube coconut shake, turon and ube ice cream. Their food presentation is so lovely and authentic. The kare-kare was probably the best we've had. Several plates of veges and peanuts were brought in with a clay pot and mixed with oxtail and sauce tableside. I thought the little rice pots were charming. Reminded me of the larger versions we had during my childhood. The sinugba was good. The ube coconut drink was delicious and the desserts were phenomenal. Now, as to our room, it was a garden view on the 2nd floor and the concrete steps were very steep. There were probably 40 steps in all. We were panting by the time we got to our room. read more

Day 1: There was seamless transportation to resort. Bus then boat ride. Staff greeted us and was very friendly. The room had great ac, very clean, and many complimentary items. Complimentary treats are delicious as well. We had a dinner scheduled at 5:30pm for a party of 12. Upon arrival, the table setting was different than advertised photos but still was gorgeous and on the actual beach which was what we wanted. We received menus to the grill even though we were told we were able to pick from a menu which had a more Western fusion theme. This was unexpected as well, but we put in drink orders and food orders. Unfortunately there were many bugs flying around us, significantly more than usual. An hour later we had no drinks or food, it was getting dark, and so we decided to get up and ask to all move to the actual restaurant part to make it easier for them. We finally received our drinks which now had melted ice and our coconuts were lukewarm. Then the salads came (included in the meal), it was an embarrassment of a salad. Something even worse than what you would see in a school cafeteria, incredibly overcooked chicken and a measly portion. The soup (also included) followed which tasted like instant soup (think grocery store Benihana's dupe) and had undercooked mushroom chunks. I ordered the ribs which was dry but the flavor was good, especially because I was starving at this point. My friend next to me ordered the salmon which was so overcooked it resembled a brick. It was also interesting to us that now that we had complained and were visibly upset that now the staff decided to be attentive. We received complimentary mango cheesecakes for their bad service. It reminded me of something you'd find at costco and I felt it had little to no mango flavor. Unfortunately this mid tier dessert was the general consensus to be the best part of the meal since everything else was greatly disappointing. Day 2: My friend woke up with heat exhaustion so I called the front desk to get more water, ice and a thin sheet since there's only a thick comforter on the beds. No answer so I went to the front desk and they said housekeeping can bring it to me and I can go to the restaurant. I got water and ice at the restaurant fine and the manager said they could bring housekeeping stuff over to my room. After initially telling housekeeping around 7:20am and a manager at 7:30am. I came back to my room to call housekeeping to followup and they said they'd be there immediately and it seemed front desk and manager did not communicate my needs to them. Housekeeping did not come until 8:15am, about an hour from when I initially asked. Lack of communication and urgency after I told two employees my friend was sick was concerning. Spent some time at the beach and tried some American food and drinks. Those parts were nice. Day 3: Spent some time at the beach and exploring the resort. Wish it was easier to order food/drinks to and from lounging areas or that there were more bars/restaurant options. Cheddar bacon apple sandwich was nice. Drinks were strong, highly recommend only ordering off the menu because venturing from it causes subpar drinks. Also, was surprised to see a "clean" beach towel I received was COVERED in brown and black stains. I also received a "clean" towel from housekeeping smeared in black stains. For dinner, we tried the sinig restaurant and it was delicious. Great service and amazing selection/wide variety. Especially loved their boodle fight and dessert options. Got back to our room to find a stench eminating from the bathroom because the water here is potent. After a while you can tell the water is green so be careful. Day 4: Had to see the doctor and he was very helpful. Spent some more time taking photos and relaxing around the resort. Had dinner again at Sinag which was really lovely. Staff at sinag was very accommodating and helpful. The food was great. Laing and the salted egg bibingka were definitely my favorite Day 5: Checkout was a breeze and there was a slight delay to our boat ride back. Luckily they were able to take us closer to get us on a van ride that was shorter to the airport. Complimentary sweet treats were great as well. Overall, beautiful location. Lots of wildlife in the actual resort; snorkeling, sea turtles, large lizards at breakfast, and fruit bats hanging over the resort. Sinag was delicious and we loved the staff, but the other restaurant seemed subpar with a large party. Unfortunately, urgency and communication between staff seems lacking which caused great discomfort and disappointment within our party. Other customers at the resort were also unfriendly and we felt a hostile energy from them. Hoping they improve in the future. read more
We came here for our honeymoon and it was worth it! We got the sunset villa which is the best view and location of the island as far as accommodation! Our room was gorgeously decorated with the honeymoon theme since when you book they ask if you're celebrating anything special! As far as the transportation to and from the island they pick you up at the airport with a 25 minute car ride which can be bumpy once they go off road to get to the dock. Then it's a 40 minute boat ride to the island. The waves were quite strong when we were there. Plus we got the activity punch card which if you do all 5 items on the card you get a complimentary moon lit dinner. This must be a new program since the staff didn't seem quite aware of it. Plus our final bill didn't have the moonlit dinner comped but it was fixed, thankfully! As far as food we thought the food was delicious and the happy hour from 4-7 during the flight of the bats was great price with some strong drinks they make! Lastly as far as activities we did hiking to eagles point. It's about 15-20 minute hike. You do it with a guide your first time then you can go up by yourself. Best time is morning or even if you want to see the sunset. We did snorkeling and recommend Carding for snorkeling as a guide. We got to see 6 sea turtles, pretty fishes, a sting ray and a a sea of fish! Very fun! Plus they have excursions that you have to book directly with the resort but the staff does a good job of giving you an amazing experience. We did the island hopping and there was us and another couple and we love how personalize it was to us! I'm hoping to come back again as we had nothing but a great experience at Club Paradise! read more

This place is the perfect paradise. A lot of water activities await you. The most like best is the water snorkeling where you can see the protected coral reef and sea living creatures. There is a great hiking trail that would give you a good workout and also a great view. It is so peaceful that it's the perfect place for meditating. The best thing about this place is the people in this island. They are so courteous, helpful and welcoming. This is truly so much fun in the Philippines! read more

This place is probably one of the most beautiful islands I've ever been to in my entire life. Where this place falls short is the food. You have ONE restaurant to eat from and the food is honestly terrible. Even their local dishes don't taste good. I wish they could change chef and their entire menu cause it's such a waste. I've been a few times and there are times I wanted to go to the kitchen myself and make my own food cause I know I can do better. Other than the food, the island is beautiful, the service is great, the staff are friendly and accommodating! Will come back again, but might pack my own food read more

Club Paradise March 2018 It was Holy Week 2018 and our nth visit here at Club Paradise, The last 2 being under the new management. During the booking stage, we already felt welcomed as the reservations people were more than accommodating, they made us feel like they wanted to see us. Upon arrival, we kinda searched for the usual welcoming band that has now been transferred to the lobby. Well I guess there was a reason for the change. We saw many familiar faces from the old management and as usual were all natural smiles coupled with a proprietary "Discovery" heart gesture like the rest of the employees. Employees like Kryzia, Maria, Carl and Noel are very commendable. After checking in and while waiting for our room to be ready ,we were met by Joeg, who was no ordinary manager. We already met him during our previous visit. He has a way of showing importance to a guest without going beyond his powers and without being assertive at all. He is a model manager. He knows his craft. He is a manager on unlimited energy. Truly, Joeg deserves to be the manager of Club Paradise if he keeps his humor, class and energy. He is very much conscious of environmental responsibility as well. Ask him anything about Club Paradise, as long as it's during his time , Joeg knows the answer. It's not just work for Joeg, it's passion. Privacy is very much respected at Club Paradise without compromising the Happy and relaxed ambiance. Security of the guest is very much guaranteed. The resort features their house reef that is a haven for scuba divers. The dive instructors either the foreigner (DI Sam from England) or homegrown (DM Ronel & DI Toto) also Gilda are very much professional, super helpful and very welcoming even for young divers like my family. The Coron tour is never the same without the all dependable and ever witty Noel. We never fail to request for Noels companionship if it's a Coron Tour for our family and friends. It is very evident that the small children have a place at club paradise, the kiddy pool was renovated with them in mind. They are now building a tree house for kids as we speak. There is even a supervised movie cartoon showing on a huge screen at night for all the kids to watch just before turning in for the night while dad and mom have a couple of drinks in the adjoining bar. As with regards to food, I believe there should be a balance of Filipino , Asian and continental food especially during breakfast Thinking that the place is really a Paradise in Coron Palawan, the present management is a bit lacking in this department for serving inadequate amount of Filipino breakfast food. Just the usual longanisa, Tapa, tocino, danggit, lamayo, itlog na maalat and kamatis, inihaw na baboy, isda, manok, ensaladang talong, kangkong etc would give a home-y feel for the local and an introduction of the all time favorite Filipino breakfast dishes to the international visitor. Also, nobody in the kitchen can even make a good over easy egg without spoiling 3 or more batches. And that's the average in 4 consecutive breakfast days. We have been to numerous beach resorts around the world and they would usually feature a selection of seafood dishes, be it shellfish, crustaceans, fish etc, inherent in their location. Hence being the best resort in Coron Palawan, one would expect Club Paradise to be at par with the worlds best resorts without compromising environment preservation laws. Also the present menu lacks in selection because for a family of four staying for 5 days , 4 nights and who would order 4-6 dishes at one time. We would have already tasted and repeated some food in a matter of 2 days. A lot of weight rests on the shoulders of Juri , the new F&B manager who was just hired a month ago. But he is very optimistic that he can remedy the problems with the help of the management. If we are to rate the service, place , all the staff and especially manager Joeg , all of whom made our stay colorful, I would give a rating of 5 stars but if the food would be included in my overall review, the rate goes down to 4 stars. I hope that this review would make the owners of Club Paradise reevaluate and rethink the menu and hopefully in our next visit, which is a given because we love Club Paradise , food would be much better. Food doesn't have to be classy sounding but more simply, good tasting with variety. read more

Don't come here expecting a pool side vacation. This place is for beach and sea lovers. And it is worth every penny. Food is good. We had no problems eating fresh fruits and veggies. Drank water (not only bottled) and had ice in our drinks without any problem. The place is exceptionaly clean and meticulously maintained. Staff members make the experience memorable. read more
