5stars for the staff. ALL the staff are very nice. They are kind, nice, polite, gentleman, helpful and they are easy to talk too. They understand and speak English too. 3stars for cleanliness. I found cockroaches in the bathroom. I have a kid with me so it's a big no no. They clean our room, but on the 3day they just fix our beds, they didn't even give us new towels, no toilet papers and they didn't throw away our trash 4stars for the food. Most of the food are good. Except for the tuna that I had for breakfast. The price was okay, some of the food in the menu is pricey. Some of The portion of the food is big. 3stars for the price of the hotel. Well it's very pricey. Wifi is not included, you have to pay wifi per day and per device. Shuttle going to hotel and dropping off to the airport is not include, EACH person needs to pay, young kids are not free. All you can eat breakfast is not included too. 4stars for the hotel ambiance, design. Big swimming pool. I like the fish pond. The rooms are spacious. They have complimentary 3bottle waters. The tv in the room is not that clear. They have gym, and spa I think it lacks of entertainment for the kids. Also!!! Randomly the power will go off. Like no lights. No internet. No electricity. But it will come back and then it's going to happen again, no electricity.

This was our home away from home. The place where at the end of the night we put our head down and rest for whatever activities we may be doing the next day. Whether it be in town adventures, island beach hopping, snorkeling, scuba diving. You day begins and ends here at Coron Westown Resort. Free shuttle from the airport, an awesome lobby with free wifi, 3 pools, a workout room, a bar, a coffee shop, function halls, business centre and electronic touch elevators. WOW!!! All that for roughly around 85usd is a gosh darn bargain. Btw, there is in room wifi, but that one is 100php/12hrs... that's 2.50usd, don't be kuripot, that's actually very cheap. It might not be the fastest internet, but it's enough to post pictures from your trip to make everyone on Instagram and Facebook jealous. We stayed 7days and 6 nights here. We arrived and we just straight up relaxed. The next day, figured out what there is to do in town, practiced snorkeling in the pool, ate out and came back and slept. The 3rd day we did the snorkeling tour. 4th day God rested. 5th day we did island beach hopping tour. The 6th day we rented motor bikes and rode around the island. 7th, we went home. Each and every end of those days, we came back here and rested. The rooms here are awesome. It's spacious, it's airconditioned, there's cable tv, there's a massive bathroom, and the bed is super comfy. The staff is extremely attentive. They are always there specially when you need anything or have any questions about whatever. Definitely always ready to give you everything short of a foot massage. I think that one you have to pay for. Thank you so much Coron Westown Resort. I had a great time staying with you guys, specially the live band nights. I would highly recommend you guys to anybody who comes to Coron.

Absolutely beautiful resort! When visiting Coron you are not seeking the party scene. This area is full of scenic views and a must visit for nature lovers. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the Busuanga Airport. You can arrange for a service from the hotel for 150php per person each way. When you check into the hotel you are greeted with a Kalamansi Juice welcome drink - very refreshing! Rooms are beautiful and modern. There are 3 pools, including a dive pool. Breakfast buffet is included each morning and staff are all polite and willing to help in any way. Wifi is only in the lobby and restaurant areas and isn't really the greatest - but if your visiting Coron - disconnect for once!! We did tours through the hotel and were very pleased with the third party company - but that's another review ;)

The best hotel in Coron for good reason…read more We stayed at the Funny Lion for 5 days and 4 nights. It is very rare to find a hotel that is all around perfect when it comes to service, food and amenities. This hotel practically has it all. The experience from start to finish was simply flawless! For starters, the hotel was in constant communication with us from booking to departure and they also helped with coordinating travel. Their complementary breakfasts are amazing and the menu rotates daily. They have the best breakfast spreads I've experienced. Happy Hour is offered from 5-7pm on their 4th floor rooftop deck providing killer sunset views which by the way has not one, but two jet tub pools if you prefer to watch the sunset in water versus on the patio chairs. The rooms are clean, modern and the grounds are beautiful. They have on-site security guards which made me feel safe during our stay. They really put a lot of thought in the details of running a hotel chain. Staff was friendly, positive and professional making every moment of our trip memorable. If you find yourself visiting Coron, the Funny Lion is the best hotel for the best value.

The staff is so wonderful m, they are friendly and accommodating! The rooms We got were all so beautiful. Our room had a private patio and a king size bed. It includes a refrigerator and a safe. The refrigerator is replenished with bottled water and Coke. You will also get specialty Filipino drinks daily. Like buko pandan juice, buko juice, sago gulaman, watermelon slush. They also provide a turn down service with small desserts such as cookies, mousse. Another surprise was that each room came with flip flops to keep and a native bag. All you can eat breakfast is included along with afternoon snacks. Breakfast will consist of different items each day like bacon, longanisa, sardines, chicken, cereal, tablea (chocolate drink), French Press Coffee (local beans), garlic fried rice, bagoong fried rice, egg fried rice, made to order omelet station, banana muffins, kutsinta, puto, bibingka, espasol, local fruits, waffles, pan de sal, sliced bread, fresh squeezed juice (calamansi). Happy hour is from 4-7 at the rooftop with amazing view of the ocean! Great sunset view! This hotel is so clean that I literally will go barefoot inside the room, this is something I never do in hotels!

Every single staff member we encountered was delightful and helpful to meet all our needs. Our room faced the Bay side with a wonderful view. The beds were comfortable, large king size room, free working wifi, and a nice pool. The location, which is not on the main strip, allows you to easily walk to town with several restaurants and shops nearby. I liked the fact that it was tucked away a bit, making it very peaceful and quiet. The hotel offers scooters for rent, which we did one day. The also were able to recommend a private boat operator, which turned out to be the highlight of our vacation. We ended up booking the private boat two times during our trip. The complimentary breakfast was exceptional. The variety of food was more than my eyes or stomach could take! They had everything from made to order omelettes and pancake, selection of fresh fruits to a variety of traditional Filipino dishes.

We did the discovery dive and had a blast. All the dive masters were so friendly and informative. Our dive instructor, Kuya Randy is an expert and prepped us so well before we did our first dive. We felt super safe during the training and had fun on the 2 dives they took us. I would highly recommend this scuba dive shop. We will definitely come back!

We then drive at break neck speed over roads, paths, and cattle farms. We arrive at Coron docks and board a small boat for a relaxing 10 minute ride to the island. The island is just off shore by a few hundred feet, but is worlds away from Coron town. The island itself is a lush paradise. We are greeted with iced tea by the staff. They quickly explain our tour option for the following days, and show us around. The resort has A few simple amenities. Pool, restaurant and bar. The cabins we stayed in are simple rooms. They have two twin beds, a table and two lamps. There is a bathroom with shower , sink and toilet. But be warned sometimes we had no water. Hey it's a island adventure! I just showered at the pool. Remember the reason you are here is ocean fun. We did three tours one per day. Coron Island tour, Malcpuya tour, and Pass island. All are worth the trip. Our tour guide/ fixer/ lifeguard was Eliz. She is the best! Full of local knowledge, and fun. She masterfully guided us thru the next three days, juggling our schedule to arrive at locations without the crowds! The Kayangan lake stop is worth the entire journey! For it we climb 300 steps up the side of the mountain with to a fresh water lake. The is the most beautiful place I have ever seeen! Note: the Discovery island Resort Dive Center is very hilly. The step to our cottage are very steep, and uneven. You have the option of dining at the restaurant on the island of taking a boat in to town. The boat runs every 20 minutes. Just check in at the bar and they will schedule you. They also do a good job of keeping up with who has gone into town, so everyone is accounted for. The food one the island is good as anything in town.

The daily excursions were AMAZING and for 1700 pesos (around $30 American) worth every penny. My guide for all 3 days was Eliza and she was awesome. The fee included 9a-430 p boat tour guide and lunch. I absolutely could not have been happier with this aspect of my stay. Likewise the surroundings of the hotel were incredible - thanks to Mother Nature. However, the accommodations were more like camping without amenities than a hotel. Our room NEVER had adequate water for a shower and on 2 days we had no water at all. Ended up sort of showering at the pool shower and going by the # of shampoo packets we were far from the only ones doing this. I suggest paying cash for any food or drink. On more than one occasion I was charged more than double and it would have been a nightmare trying to correct when getting room bill! Also at the end of our stay the staff said we didn't pay for one meal that we had paid for. I don't think any of it was malicious just really poor system. Be very aware that if you have any sort of disability/issues climbing A LOT of stairs/inability to climb off boats this is NOT the place for you. I would definitely NOT pay $100/night to stay here again but maybe $ more along the lines of a camping fee.

We got to the hotel and the staff were warm and welcoming. POSITIVES - Strong aircon AND fan in the room - Showers with HOT water - drying rack for laundry out on the balcony - Complimentary, filling Filipino Silog (meat, egg and rice) breakfast which includes coffee/tea/milo. - Nice view deck on the forth floor - Convenience store on the first floor thats open 24/7 - Free WiFi - Friendly, helpful staff NEGATIVES - Tiny room and bathroom - the walls were dusty near the ceiling, guess their cleaning staff are of short stature and forget to look up. Outta sight, outta mind it seemed. - Not much of a view from the small balcony. - Thin linens with lumpy pillows - No toiletries except for bar soap - If I wasn't staying at the hotel, I wouldn't eat at their restaurant. This is a discount hotel that served its purpose as a place for us to rest in between our tours of Palawan.
