A few years ago, I was interested in getting my child some self defense classes due to bullying in…read morethe school system. Not really thinking this was a long term commitment I could not be happier. I stumbled upon this studio years ago through Google. I took a chance and called to make an appointment with an instructor to see what was offered and what my options were. As there are several options for you and/or your child I thought best to start personal one on one classes and I could not be happier with my choice. Not only has my child stuck with the lessons (personal) for years she has a great bond with her instructor; Aaron. He has been absolutely amazing with her! Not only does she have a higher self esteem she now stands up for herself and no longer takes "garbage" from class mates! The building it's - self is not your typical karate studio, it's very "rugged". Remember you are not there to enter a fashion show! It's exactly what I had wanted for her! Focus on what your lesson is vs. what belt or uniform you will be wearing. As you do have the option though, comfy clothes are best. As for the price you will not be able to beat the offers here. Not only is my daughter attending classes my husband also started attending ( you probably spend more in fast food a week than you will here ).. On a side note, let me say that my husband works out at a regular gym 5-6 days a week few hours a day and never comes homes as hyped up and sweaty as he does going to Tracy's for a half hour once a week. He will be the first to say WARNING: Aaron will kick your butt!! No mercy for the weak (haha). You learn a lot in a short period of time and the instructor will not continue on until he feels you are secure with what was taught and you are doing the moves correctly with no hesitation. We hope to continue lessons for years to come; Thank you Tracy's Kenpo Studio for all your hard work in changing my child for the better!! I could not have done it without you; Aaron especially.

This is an absolutely wonderful place to learn martial arts. Using several different methods,…read moreyou'll learn not only basics of fighting and self defense, but also the history and science behind what you're learning. Mark & Aaron do a wonderful job leading & teaching & the other instructors are great as well. Our kids (ages 5. 7, & 9) go to the group classes & have learned so much. It has made them more confident and they get a workout every time. My husband and I also take lessons & have learned so much. It never ceases to amaze me how knowledgable the staff is & how willing they are to teach anyone who asks. They train MMA fighters, cops, & regular people off the street like you and me. The icing on the cake is they have really great rates and plans to fit different budgets. I highly recommend this place.

We have been members for that last 6+ years (and have been part of other dojos in the past for some comparisons). It has given my children increased confidence and self esteem that would not have been possible without the amazing instructors and staff at DMA. The lessons they have taught my kids have really helped them grow. They not only teach the physical aspects of martial arts, but principles and thought leadership behind it. It has had an amazing impact on the students. We are also part of their Leadership program which teaches how to connect with people in a meaningful way, bring out the best in our students and become leaders themselves. As a parent, and seasoned leader for decades, have found great value from our sensei's leadership program. I have found lifelong friends, incredible motivation to stay active and healthy, and motivation to keep pursing black belt excellence. I cannot speak highly enough of the positive impact that Dynamic Martial Arts has had on my family's lives.

We were able to try Dynamic Martial Arts for 3 sessions before we committed to anything. We wanted to be sure our son liked it, but we also wanted to make sure it was worth the money for a regular membership. My son got along really well with the instructor in his initial sessions. We decided to keep coming back. This dojo charges $80/mo for its instruction. Let me assure you, Sensei Jon Davis created an awesome youth program for the Little Dragons and my son couldn't be happier. The staff is always on time and they offer make up sessions if your schedule doesn't allow for attending your regular class (gotta love flexibility). The environment is always clean and organized. There is a little commotion from the zumba class next door, but it hardly seems like a distraction due to the incredible teaching skills of Sensei Davis and his staff. I can't say enough good things about this dojo. The hard work and dedication to the art is obvious and you can't help but feel great respect for the traditions of karate. I can't comment on any other practices of this dojo except the youth program (Little Dragons). They do have much more to offer so if you're interested in this sort of thing, stop in and you will be greeted with a friendly face. ~ strik9

It's amazing the way Master Kaz is able to control an entire class, while teaching different groups at their level. Master Kaz is stern, but is stern with kindness, and as a result, my child has confidence and demonstrates self-control. Family Karate Academy is a serious training academy, with Tae Kwon Do instruction, and you can expect your child to learn quickly and grow in technique, confidence and discipline. Master Kaz trains the students to be healthy, focused, and respectful. His instruction includes warm-up. Master Kaz also teaches stranger-danger, bully prevention, and has family events. There is plenty of room at the academy, including changing rooms and observation space. Lots of parking as well, and located conveniently at the SW corner of 15 Mile & Mound, in Sterling Heights. Master Kaz is a Master, google him! This is a great place for your child to learn karate. Training is recommends 2/week, and payment is easy, whether you choose to pay monthly or longer. CC accepted. Master Kaz will treat you and your child like family!
