The coaches at Village of Wolves have been some of the best kids coaches I've seen . . . so patient and kind with him especially coach Mike and coach Ivan but they also have the hard-to-find ability to be just the right amount of firm with him when they need to be with out being too harsh or using an angry tone and quickly back to business after saying what needs to be said and getting him back on track. They do an excellent job of keeping him safe and not letting him goof off too much for his and other kids' own safety but also not being too overbearing and giving him a little slack until it becomes an issue. Going here has really helped with his confidence and toughness. He used to cry or run to mommy for any little bump or bruise but now he's seeing that a little bit of discomfort isn't the end of the world. He can't wait to go every week. I love the historical brick architecture and it is one of the more aesthetically pleasing buildings on campus. Parking can be a challenge but there are paid garage options available. I have been here on several occasions to watch the UT women's volleyball team play home matches. I have sat in the bleachers and also in the bench seating and all seats have a great view of the floor. The venue is very intimate and had a loud, close-up atmosphere so you fell immersed in the game. This location is also a meeting hub for local clubs and activities. Met up here for the Longhorn runs and packet pick-up. Access to the gym facility is restricted to current UT students and individuals with a current RecSports membership or Day Pass. As a UT student, I also used the workout facilities. They have a variety of activities and amenities and it is a very nice gym facility. I used to do all my strength workouts in the weight room and they have an indoor track and basketball courts.

Flash forward a year later, a brief winter hiatus, and 15 lessons later, I now have a 95% overhand serve rate (no more underhand serving for this gal), and look halfway decent when attacking the ball. The usual attendees are around intermediate level (since they've been going for a while), but everyone is super supportive no matter what level you are! They post the daily training focus on their IG week by week so you can drop in whenever to do drills and receive proper training on improving in that skill (ex. Setting v passing v hitting etc). It's also a great way to start your day and get in a few games before work since it runs quite on time from 7:30am-9am on the dot!
