I love the tile mosaics of aquatic and Florida wildlife throughout the bridge. I read that this bridge had a makeover and I highly approve. We only passed through Daytona Beach, but this bridge was the highlight of the area. I wish I could have taken pictures as we were driving by!!! This bridge was originally built in 1948 and replaced in 2001 and crosses the span of the Halifax River. There are 36 tile mosaic designs throughout the bridge and the Broadway Bridge has won awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies. Very cool!

It's over 3,000 feet long and crosses over the Halifax River and the Intra Coastal Waterway. A very useful bridge to be sure and allows traffic to flow from the center of Daytona to the great beaches without too much trouble. A graceful structure that just seems to fit without being intrusive. So many large bridges are closed to pedestrian traffic but this fine bridge has pleasant side walks on both sides. Allows for some fantastic views of the water, boats, buildings and even the ocean in the distance. But what really makes this bridge cool is all the mosaics of local marine life that are placed at various intervals along the structure. Some great works of art that turns this bridge into a lot more than just a way of getting over the river. If you go under the bridge you will find even more mosaics on the supports that hold up the huge roadway. Some bridges are just places for cars to go over. This wonderful bridge allows you to see great views in all directions and even some great mosaics of dolphins, manatees, sharks and sea horses. A unique and wonderful example of how to combine art with function

The reason you would ultimately enjoy going to Don Vito's is for the owner, Barbara. She reminds me of my relatives from New York. When I'm there I know I'm eating at one of those good, family owned restaurants. When people travel to Daytona Beach, I'm not the only one to make a point to eat at Don Vito's to catch-up. They are not well staffed so plan ahead and make a reservation.

We wanted lasagna but they did not have any and we were at restaurant by 5:30. We ordered a pizza which took over 30 minutes to get. Once we got pizza all of the above was redeemed. It was deliciously made to order. We had far too much pizza left and it was wrapped up very well and not in a box because we were traveling and our server recognized a box is more awkward to handle. It was disappointing that we did not get to eat authentic Italian food that evening(I know pizza is Italian, but when you go to an authentic Italian restaurant that is not what I look for.) This restaurant was recommended on YouTube as one of the top 10 restaurants to try in Daytona. Trip Advisor also recommended. Based on my experience I would not recommend.

I am an avid fine diner and have had many experiences in Italian fine dining. As a party of 8, we booked two reservations of 4 due to the limited reservations online. No problem at all. As we arrived we requested to be seated near each other, as there were 4 top tables available next to each other. The host informed us that they did not want us interacting as it would disturb the vibe. To assume that we don't understand proper etiquette was a bit insulting. As we sat in the basement, it felt like we were getting seated for a church dinner. The fake stained glass and outdated carpeting was incredibly tacky, as well as the dirty piece of paper requesting restraint from cell phone use (as pictured). Other than the strange indoor decor, and the host demeaning our party, the food did not disappoint. We enjoyed the carpaccio, pasta, veal scallopine, lamb, and chocolate desserts. Everything was delicious. I was unaware when booking that they do not have a liquor license. I came to find out when I ordered an espresso martini. The wine list was decent and I decided upon an Amarone which was the perfect compliment to dinner. Overall, it was decent due to the food, but the vibe was very strange and didn't feel upscale whatsoever. Service was fine, nothing exceptional.

It's held at The Casements, a historic landmark as John D. Rockefeller's winter home. Parking is a challenge but it's doable. I caught up with my friends and danced a bit with them until the break in between programs. There were flute players, hoop dancing, a Deep Woods demonstration (an educational program on how Southeastern natives lived, and even an Alligator wrestling show. I got hungry and walked over to the food vendors. A friend of mine convinced me to get some frybread. For those who don't know what that is, it's flat dough fried in oil and topped with anything from fruit, chili, or something simple like I got, powered sugar and cinnamon. I haven't had this in a lonnnnng time and it was delish. I encourage everyone to go check them out each March.

I've seen this place plenty of times. I've just never visited the establishment. The ambience is a sort of mom and pop family owned restaurant. When people were coming in, they were saying hello to them by name so you can tell that they are known by their people in the community. Now I ordered the fried ravioli and the white spinach pizza. The fried ravioli I really could've did without this is something that I've gotten from other places as well and there's just tasted like it was frozen and then dipped into the fryer. There wasn't much filling it did have a good crust on the outside, but it fell off. So that's not something I would spend nine dollars on again unfortunately. Now the star is the spinach white pizza. It was hands-down one of the best spinach pizzas that I have had locally the dough to the pizza was very fresh not too thick, but not too thin. The toppings had great seasoning on them. I added a little bit more garlic powder because that's just me but it was very very good and I 100% would return for that pizza again. All in all I would visit the restaurant again I would not get the fried ravioli because again the taste was lacking but the pizza and the marinara that came with the ravioli. Delicious.
