Car Care & Repair LLC used the FIRST $126 to rack up a potential profit of $1,1817.30, minus $713 for two rear Continental tires. The remaining EXPLORATORY let-us-find-other-unrelated-BS-concerns-to-sell-you included the following replacements: cabin air filter ($133.56), engine air filter element ($215.47), Engine Coolant Expansion tank ($54.86), "BFLUSH" or break fluid flush ($120.43), Oil and filter change, synthetic ($134.53), and "align EURO" ($159.95). None of this had any relation to the check engine light, which O'Reilly diagnosed for free with the code for emission leak, generally related to a loose gas cap. So, Car Care & Repair, LLC, charges the SECOND $126 fee to diagnose the original problem, and claims the cost involved tools and equipment to locate the problem, which everyone knows is the cost of doing business. The owner said charges include his having to do an Internet search because the vehicle is a newer model. Again, COST of doing business. Why should a customer take the HIT of his lack of knowledge? Taking Scam Artistry to another level, Car Care & Repair, LLC, charges ALL CUSTOMERS A FEE FOR HAZMAT REMOVAL, regardless if they dispose of anything related to your vehicle or service. Now, ERIC, who identified himself as the owner was contacted for an explanation, not only was he initially rude, defensive, and obnoxious but failed to understand the concern with the fact that Car Care & Repair, LLC, FAILED TO GIVE NOTICE OF THE TWO DIAGNOSIS FOR THE ONE ISSUE. WHAT CAR CARE & REPAIR, LLC DID NOT KNOW: The vehicle is up-to-date on its scheduled maintenance service (A & B) by Mercedes and was recently serviced this year, a few months. The Servicer confirmed that an oil change and all items (SCAMS) are not necessary and to bring the vehicle in when in town to have the check engine light CLEARED. I do get my oil changed every 3000 miles when warranty requires 5000 because I do take care of my truck, too expensive not too. Well they said they would "misread" my mileage so it would keep my warranty valid. I dropped by on Monday to make sure my truck would be services on Friday as it was when they could schedule me in, they did not tell me they would accommodate my request then or at our first conversation either. Picked it up on Friday and the counter guy said he could not change the milage because it was wrong to do so. But lying to me that he would is quite acceptable in his mind apparently. The owner came over and started telling me about its a battle repeatedly until I told him we are not in a battle we have a disagreement that's all. He raised his voice and kept telling in about its a battle in business and I don't understand and kept ranting on and on. I told him it was ultimately my fault because I missed the milage but I would have gone somewhere else that would done my request. If I wasn't able to find another company I would have just done it myself because it would be out of warranty anyway and save myself $660 which was my bill, pretty excessive actually.

(Copy Of The Receipt For This Work Is Available Upon Request) After Leaving The Establishment, My Brake Still Squealed And I Called Mavis Tire And Complained About It To A Fellow Named Daniel Who Worked There And I Agreed To Come Back And Have Them Check Their Work. I Revisited Mavis Tire And Brakes On June 2, 2026. And after receiving my Vehicle Back From Mavis and being told that it only needed some grease, I drove my vehicle to test their work and service and all that I got was worse squealing than I had when I initially brought it in on May 6, 2026. After Experiencing This, I returned To The Business Before they closed on June 2, 2026, and Mr. Daniel Then Told Me He Heard The squealing when I drove up and That I Need New Front Brakes - The Same Front Brakes That Were Just Fine A Few Weeks Earlier. When it was time to pick up my ride, I was handed my key but not the wheel lock. The guy who did the work didn't seem too concerned in finding it. He told me he'd look for it and when found, I'd get a call. That didn't happen. I went back on Monday and was told to come back on Tuesday to get a new lock set. After arriving just before noon on Tuesday, I dropped it off but this time I had to wait in the lobby. Around 2-1/2 hours later (2:30p), the manager finally comes around and hands me my original, now slightly beat up wheel lock. Here are the reasons why only 1 star: 1. Customers are left waiting in the lobby where the sun beams through the windows which roasts anyone sitting there. There are no water fountains (not that I use them) or vending machines. 2. Here's the kicker, while I'm waiting, the guy who initially worked on my ride comes in (he doesn't see me). It's his "day off". He's stating he's about to go fishing. Then I here him say, "You know the worse thing about fishing? You have to wait for the fish to bite." I wasn't 100% that day so I didn't have the energy to say how I felt. The shop must understand that communication is vital in business. Customers have jobs too so it's essential to give "honest" estimates on costs and time. If you're understaff, be upfront early. Consider adding shading to your window fronts. It's like an oven on bright sunny days. Consider adding vending machines, even if it's only water. Consider your female clients in regards to the cleanliness of your lobby and rest rooms. Please note, that 1 star rating can be improved by reinvesting in some basic business tips.

Quick to answer, fast responses/answers, no holds. Auto expertise is 5*. ALL STAFF @ Palmetto Tire are dependable, trust worthy, knowledgable. Won't jack you when your situation is vulnerable. Everyone I interacted w/ in any manner was courteous, patient, understanding. I made it to Fla that day thanks to the quick action/resources Tim/Palmetto Tire provided. Tim called me next day for permission to perform in depth test, why it was needed / what it will prove, & cost. A few hours later, he delivered the bad news, needed new engine. I told him I needed to speak to my guy in Raleigh 1st. Tim/Palmetto Tire gave me absolutely NO pressure even tho he might not be doing the work. I decided to have it transported to Raleigh, which would make it sit at Palmetto Tire's shop for a week. Tim again, was no pressure. I was afraid of a storage fee but he said no problem. It took a week+ and Palmetto Tire did not pressure/badger me about it sitting at his shop. Shout out to Graham's towing, who were 5* as well. A 5* auto shop recommends a 5* towing company. Nearest town 30 min east or west. Called all 1-2 shops both directions. I felt the best assurance from Tim @ Palmetto Tire. He rec Graham's Towing. Enterprise rental was next door. (Those dudes are wonderful and an absolute hoot but also efficient w/ business.) Once arrived, jeep was parked at Palmetto & w/o a word to Palmetto, I went straight to Enterprise (men working there good natured & created a light hearted atmosphere). Took 30 min start to finish. When they drove the car around, I asked them take it to Palmetto Tire & park tailgate to tailgate w/ Jeep. Yet to pop my head in at Palmetto, I started transferring everything to rental, (45 min.) Tim came out to see if I needed help. No, I was too stressed for help, had along way to go & didn't expect this snafu. He was totally chill about it. That helped a lot in a very stressful situation for me. Rental car loaded, I go in to talk to Tim. I needed to return to Raleigh within a week and hoped to pu Jeep on my way back. He assured me they'd make the diagnostic next day. Tim called me 11ish next morning. Jeep needed new engine. I needed to think it over and call my tech in Raleigh. Tim was supportive of my hesitation and was not offended or put off by this. My tech told me to get quote. I called Palmetto, got quote, called my tech back. He said, "Yea, that sounds about right." I decided not to sink more money into Jeep & sought to transport back to Raleigh. This took a looong time despite my efforts. (Cautionary tale: Towing long distance would be $$$ so I searched the web, stupidly entered my phone number. Don't do that, y'all. I got 20 texts/phone calls/emails within 2 minutes. It's been a month and they are still coming!) Jeep sat at Palmetto Tire for more than a week before it was pu. Even tho transport said 2 days. An American, English speaking person will call u but when u call back, it's a call center in a foreign country. Just beware.) I called Palmetto Tire to tell Tim I was having it transported, (Jeep's 4th day sitting at his shop). I was worried about a storage fee for the Jeep since it would be sitting there so long.
