I want to thank Ed and Dr. Guilford for helping me out today. I was working on some plumbing when a piece of the plaster ceiling fell on me. Although I was wearing safety glasses, I got an eye full of plaster dust. I called another eye doctor who was closer to home who told me that although I was 5 minutes away their doctor wasn't willing to wait for me to come over and I should go to urgent care Thankfully, I ended up getting ahold of Ed at myeyedr. He told me to come right in. Dr. Guilford saw me ASAP. He was able to remove a piece of plaster lodged in my eyelid, which fortunately only did minor damage to my eye. Thank you again. read more

Yesterday I was so excited to pick up my new glasses when I opened the new case it was not the frame that I ordered. This is the second time this happen to me, in 2021 and now. I understand it was people before me,I waited for a long time because people before me,then when the female said next for me,I told her this was my first appointment I did it on line,she turn around and to get papers,and it literally took her so long,the people after me got waited on by the male guy next to her,got whatever they needed and got sent back before me,it's like she purposely took her time,so they wou go back before me,then I sat along time waiting for the eye exam,then I left my hat on the chair,she said you left your hat on my chair,I took that as being racist,it's not just what u say,it's how you say it,then i go and sat a long time again to pick my glasses,even after all thee other people she had was going 20 minutes or more,I waited that long until she called me,look at your camera it will show. read more

I have been getting glasses here for so e time. My last pair was not a good fit. I felt that my proprioception was off and I tripped over my own feet all the time.By the time I figured out that it was my glasses,it was past the 30 day return. I recently got new glasses. They told me my Insurance would only pay 100.00 towards the frame. I said ok and we went through the process of ordering lenses. At the end I for my glasses. Almost 400.00. Imagine my surprise when about 60 days later I get a bill for 290.00!!! I have never had the price increased on my glasses after I bought them. Good luck trying to talk to their 3rd party billing ser ice all you will get is the run around. I'm filing a complaint with the state AG office for deceptive billing practices. I will never go there again.I got cheap frames and nothing special with my lenses. They are trying to charge me 800.00 for these glasses.Dont go here! read more

I walked into this branch today to fix the frame of glasses because the fit was loose. the receptionist took my glasses, bent the frame so badly that they ( both receptionist and another female employee) couldn't straighten it or fix it. they had replaced my frame. I asked the receptionist,"do you know how to fix glasses" she said "yes I do, I work here". communication by the receptionist and a female employee was so poor, I could hardly believe what I was seeing. I am just grateful to walk out of the branch with my new frame . I wouldn't take my kids here for glasses if it was the only place on earth that sold glasses . That says it all about this place. if you need new glasses, this place should be at the bottom of your list Or not on your list at all. read more

If you know what's good for you you won't go here. Not only is the office people rude and very unprofessional, I found out when going to my new eye doctor that the prescription that this place gave me wasn't even mine. In fact my eye doctor said it wasn't even close to mine. I've been thinking all this time it was my eyes getting worse and worse in a small amount of time and it was not my eyes at all. Than to make matters worse they call me and offer me a $25 gift card off the next pair of glasses I get there and really all I can say as wow! Like I would really go back there but yet they have the guts to tell me that they want to give me $25 when I'm now at almost $2,000 that I will be making sure that they reimburse me for because they are responsible. read more

Not sure who reads this and where this goes but I want to share my dissatisfaction with the office located on white street in York pa. I contacted the office back in early November to order a one year supply of contacts. I provided all of the necessary information to the receptionist, she took my card, insurance card and advised that she submitted the order and I could expect to receive it within 7-10 business days. 3 weeks passed and I had not received my contacts. I called back again and the second receptionist advised me that the first receptionist never submitted my order. Once again, the receptionist took my information and advised me that my order had been submitted this time and I can expect to receive it within 7-10 business days along with a rebate. Roughly 3 weeks later, I finally received my box yesterday. Come to find out when I opened the box there were only two boxes of contacts inside and they both were for my right eye only, but again, no rebate inside. I called the office this morning informing them of the situation and the receptionist said all she could do was re order the 12 month supply for my left eye which means I would be again waiting another 3 weeks to receive my full order (granted if the package actually arrives). I currently only have one set of contacts remaining and have had one pair left for the last few months. I requested some type of credit to my account or an additional rebate for the extreme inconvenience this matter has caused me. The receptionist stated she could not give an extra rebate and she would have the office manager Mandy call me. Mandy called me and informed me that my left eye contact order had shipped out yesterday. I asked her why they were not shipped together with my right side and she said the left side was on back order and they have a trial set and my rebate at the office and I could come in and pick it up. I have multiple issues with the way this was handled. When I called I was told there were no extra trial sets at the office for me. Second, I was never informed that my order was on back order. I received zero communication about my order from day one since I placed my order. So now I have to go out of my way to come into your office to pick up something that should have been granted to me in the first place? And this is somehow supposed to resolve the issue? I could have taken my business anywhere and ordered my contacts through ANY other company and because I ordered through you all I am here waiting two months for an order of contacts that should have been properly handled the first time around and should have supposedly been delivered within 7-10 business days which when I finally received half of my order last night, the timing was well beyond 7-10 business days not to mention I now have to wait another 2-3 weeks to receive my left eye contacts. I will be taking my business elsewhere. The front desk receptionists are not very friendly anyways. read more

I got my glasses 1month after I heard a loud crack an my lens flew took them back took them 2 weeks to get them back 3weeks later the same thing happened I was so glad my daughter was with me she was driving she heard the crack jumped said what was that I said my glasses cracked the same place I was so glad she was there or people mite think I was nuts well it 2weeks now happened again different place but it was the plastic in front of ware they are put together I told her I bought 10$ reading glasses which I throw in my pocket book nothing ever happens to them she said I use this more but I dont use when we go out for sunglasses I am very with these went back this time the guy said there only covered 1 time but he took them back came back out with a pair said they had the same frame so he put my lens in now here we go again I wont be going back 400$ loss read more

I have been using my eye dr (formerly weaver) for years now. I made an appt for today, I get there and the young girl tells me to fill out this form yadda yadda yadda and for todays visit you will pay $40. So I asked why, she says for the retinol exam. I respond, the insurance said they can charge them for it since i have diabetes they will cover it. She says no, I tell her I don't want it because I am not going to pay that. She says I have to because it's part of the whole exam. I go to explain how they have done exams before without it and she said no it has to be done because I am seeing a virtual doctor not a dr in person! I was never told that I would have a virtual visit and why would it be mandatory as part of a virtual but not an in person visit. She mentions that in person they will dilate my pupils, blah blah blah. Nothing she said made sense to me. I don't think she expected pushback and her attitude was not a good one after that. Tells me all I can do is book another appt another time. I have never been told that it was part of my exam. All you do is sign the paper waiving the exam and all is well. They have gone down in service. Two years ago the girl tried to get me to pay $250 for things I found out my insurance covered (I walked out). I know for sure I don't want to use weaver from now on. They are making Walmart look good. read more

My eye doctor on eastern boulevard is a no no place to go. The receptionist are full of attitude. They always are very unhelpful. They always pretend to be busy when there are only 2 patients in the waiting area. No one will help you for an hour for little things. Very bad culture of the place. I have been with USA Optical for over 20 yrs in West Manchester Mall. It was bought out by My Eye Dr and customer service has declined. 3 years ago I called and set up an appt. I have already selected text only for communication due to work and difficulty to get calls. I roll into my appt, they canceled my appt bc someone CALLED and I didn't return it to confirm. what! There was 0 texts. I did not reschedule and left vowing to go to another eye Dr. 1 month ago I called and scheduled an appt at East York office and reiterated TEXTS only. Today's appointment was 11:50. I arrive 15 min early since it is a new location. The same thing happened again without a text. They text with reminders to schedule. I am beyond livid. I will have to find another eye Dr that is not part of this huge company that does not value customer service. I will not feed the monster. I am sad that 'relationship' was destroyed. read more

My husband and I have been going to Weaver Eye for Years. The minute the changed to the Eye Dr. it was a horrible! I waited and 1hr. to pickup glasses, wrong markings for progressive. Took them back. They had an assistant pop the new lens in and bent the arm. Numerous time adjustment. I just picked up my new pair. They forgot me! I waited another Hour! They accidentally crossed my name out. Do not schedule an appointment with the optometrist at this location. Twice I took time off from work to have the appointment cancelled that morning. Each time was told the doctor had an emergency and that I 'could' contact another location. A BETTER business would have done the leg work for me to provide options or an available appointment in close proximity. This location does not have their act together. While Danielle was speaking to me about the cancellation another member was leaving a message that my appointment was cancelled due to an emergency and would need to reschedule. Now I'm off to find a better optometrist and yet another set of documents to complete. Very poor customer service ... read more

The selection of styles is limited and a poor representation of current styles at that. The techs are not that knowledgeable. The Docs are just OK. I was told that one of their tech was absent today.and that there would be a 45 minute wait, I heard other people being told the same thing. I waited an hour watching people come and go, not all had appointments. I ask when the store was almost empty about being seen and was then told that I would not be seen because there were 27 people ahead of me. I responded that the store was empty except for 5 people (I counted). The receptionist said the others were all in the patients rooms. I've been going there for 5 years, there aren't that many room in the back. I have stuck with them and their "I'm better than you." attitude because they were convenient . I should have stopped going there a while back. If you know what is best for yourself, believe me and the other reviews. They are that bad, avoid the "My Eye Doctor" unless you want to be treated poorly. read more

We was told the doctor was done for the day. The doctor was still with a patient when we got there. And that we can try to make an appointment 2 months later. read more

My family has gone here for quite a few years, but after the experience we had with my husband's glasses, we will NEVER use My Eye Dr. (USA Optical) again. My husband went to his annual appointment and during his checkup, the eye doctor told him he should consider having bifocals. This was extremely important, given the work that he does on a daily basis and the issues he was having being able to do that work due to his vision. After his appointment, he was turned over to the person who was supposed to help him select the frames and then put in the order for his glasses. Either the doctor didn't tell this person that he needed bifocals, or this person overlooked it, but when the glasses came in, they did not have any bifocals in them. He immediately complained (for obvious reasons), but they told him that it was HIS fault because he should have told this person what they needed to order. Honestly, this is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. How on earth is he supposed to tell THEM what prescription he needs? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the whole point of going to an eye doctor is so that they can figure out what prescription you need. Otherwise, he would do it himself. Because this specific location was not willing to resolve the issue, he contacted their corporate office. It took many phone calls over a period of two weeks to actually reach anyone. If you call the corporate number it goes straight to voicemail (no matter what hour of the day you call). When he finally did talk to someone, we learned that there really is no corporate office, and that these people just work willy nilly from undisclosed locations returning unanswered phone calls whenever they feel like it. So the "corporate office" (ahem), said they cannot do anything because the individual businesses make those decisions. It's clear that this company is not willing to rectify their own mistakes. I can't help but wonder how many prescriptions they have gotten incorrect in the past and if their clients are even aware that they have been given the wrong prescriptions (given their obvious lack of communication from within). I have been a customer with this branch for the last 11 years. When I recently showed up for my eye exam, they told me that they "couldn't find my eye insurance company." I have had the same coverage, health insurer from the time I began using this branch - no changes. Yet they "couldn't find it" and told me that I had to contact my insurer, myself. This annoyance, combined with the fact that it took 10 minutes to be greeted by a store employee - means - I'll find another store to purchase my 3 new pairs of glasses. read more

I had a bad experience at this location. I had been going here since the store was USA optical( for years). The staff was always usually pleasant and helpful. Just recently i changed insurance and while making an appointment for an eye exam, the receptionist (lori i think) rudely and abruptly interrupted me stating that i wasn't giving her the right ID number and to call her back once i figured it out. THAT was enough to keep me from making an appointment. I call my insurance company and i in fact was correct with my information and call My Eye doctor again to make my appointment. The next girl helped me do so. I had to reschedule said appointment for a later time due to a snow storm ( as traffic was tied up) Lori answered the phone yet again when i called, letting them know i would be late because of the weather. I asked if it was worth it foe me to come late ( being that the weather was bad, maybe they had cancellations and they could squeeze me in)Lori inturrupted me yet again saying " well. I don't know what you want me to do for you. Its your appointment time now. You're late" In a SNOWSTORM LADY. I hung up and made an appointment with Weaver eye ( who i only left because of my previous insurance) Thanks for helping me reconnect with the best staff at Weaver. I have gotten my glasses from My Eye Dr./USA for over ten years and have had no problems. I can get an appointment when needed and stop in for adjustments at any time without appointments. The staff has always been welcoming and courteous when I have been there. I have gone from single vision to bifocals and now have the start of a cataract and they are keeping me very informed as to my eye care. read more
