Staff is friendly. Orders came in quickly. Optometrist took her time with both of us made us feel comfortable and answered all questions.

My wife made an appointment providing our insurance when booking as well as filling out all the new patient paperwork online prior to the appointment. When we arrived they told her our insurance is just a discount plan and not any actual coverage and we were encouraged to use their self pay discount. She also had her fill out all the paperwork again there. My wife said the appointment went great and the doctor was nice. We were then paired up with the most unpleasant woman ever to help try on glasses. She clearly was not a fan of the lesbians standing in front of her. After searching for glasses and questioning our actual insurance coverage, I decided not to give this place another dime! So we paid for the eye exam and some photos and went on our way. When we got home I called the insurance, sure enough... 100% coverage and a huge allowance on frames and lenses. So frustrating! I went back in and asked that they refund my card and charge the insurance since this was their fault. They refused so I filed the claim myself. Silly that I even had to and so happy not to waste our time on buying frames from here after reading everyone else's terrible reviews after ordering. read more

Since they're the only place I could find that could replace my lenses for my old Takumi frames, I give them two stars instead of one. Walking in, the woman offering to help me said she wouldn't give me a quote first because she was afraid to waste her time. I had to convince her to spend time helping me because I needed my glasses replaced. I wasn't given any time for them to be returned to me, but they said they would call to let me know. Three weeks later, I called them and was told that they were supposed to be returned a week prior, but the company they sent it to had to give another date and it should be ready in 3 days. I can't blame them for the delay or one of the lenses not being right when they finally arrived. They were sent back, hopefully that day. I was told again that they would call as soon as they heard anything. After not hearing from them for two weeks, I received a text an hour before they closed. So, I had to go to them the following day. When I arrived the following day, they tried to hand me my old lenses and the new lenses without the frames. They couldn't find the frames. I was again told that they would call as soon as they found them. A week later, I called to speak to the manager. Nobody answered. I had to leave a voicemail. A few minutes later I was called back saying the manager was out for the day (it was only 2:30PM) but she could help me. I then explained what has happened so far. She tried telling me that my glasses were there and had been for a week. I told her that I was there last week, but they lost the frames. She said she would call me back in a few minutes. Notice a pattern of nobody calling their clients? I was surprised 15 minutes later to get a call back saying my frames arrived that morning and were ready to be picked up - again. When I came in I was handed my glasses. I asked if I was to be given a receipt or anything and they said that my glasses were all I needed. Their customer service is horrible to say the least. On the plus side, they do offer a wide variety of lenses and can send designer frames to get the lenses replaced. Just don't expect them to call you. So, now you (My Eye Dr) want me to give you all my information. How about a big NO. Why not just ask me to call? How about giving me your number and I'll call you? read more

I was recommended to go here from a co-worker. I was new to Savannah and needed a new pair of glasses stat. I was very pleased with my Exam and the Doctor (kudos to Melissa Keller, OD). However, recent experience with this business has prompted me to post a review AND a warning to anyone considering utilizing this service for their optical needs. I was able to obtain my prescriptions because I wanted to order a new set of frames at al online site running an awesome sale on transition frames (2 for 1 Deal). I had no trouble obtaining my prescription for their online portal. However, there was a vital piece of information that I needed to complete my online sale that the prescription didn't contain... my pupil distance (PD). I called MyEyeDr and spoke to a receptionist about my issue and asked if I could receive this information over the phone. The receptionist proceeded to direct me to a site where I could download instructions on how to calculate my own PD. When I told her I tried this and wanted to make sure I had an accurate reading with what was in my medical file. She then told me to "just use '63', that is the standard PD for most people." What?! I was very confused and getting frustrated with her evasive tactics concerning MY medical information. Taking a deep breath and starting again, choosing my words wisely, I was not going to use some 'standard' number when it comes to my vision. She told me that she could not release this information (I figured she meant over the phone.) I went on to inform her that if it was a matter of HIPPA laws, I would gladly come to Pooler, GA, in person and get this information after verifying who I was. What she told me next was absolutely unbelievable. To obtain this information from MY medical file, I had to pay a fee of $30.! Thirty dollars to obtain my own medical information! Can you believe that?! Needless to say, by the end of this conversation I was livid. There is no way that I will ever return to this business again. Imagine extorting me for information about ME?! If you choose to visit this establishment, please be sure to ask your DOCTOR what your pupil distance is during your exam. I wish I had known this. Moving forward, when its time for my next eye exam, I will definitely confirm that my information is still accurate and noted on my prescription when I ask for it on the spot. read more

I went in for a eye exam and to get glasses. I already paid for the exam and the lenses and then they tell me the payment didn't cover the frames so I left to gather the rest of the money for the frames and came back to finish paying. They said since I left they went a head and deleted my account with them and I had to repay for everything all over again and take another exam. They scammed me and I lost money and no glasses. They are rude and make you feel not welcome there to. read more

Melissa is the most personable doctor I have the pleasure to work with, she is very attentive and answers all questions you could have. The staff is nice and mostly efficient but not to the level of Dr Keller. Highly suggest this place just give yourself a little extra time and plenty of calendar dates in advance to make an appointment. read more

This particular store is absolutely horrible. It's been over two months...TWO...and I haven't received my 2nd pair that I originally ordered with the first pair. They were sent back without what I originally paid for, and now I have to wait an additional two weeks or longer. I was once put on hold for over a half hour before I hung up and called back. After 15 years under Dr. Watson's eye care, I'm outta' here! Dr. Watson is able and personable, but since My Eye Dr. has taken over, customer and eyeglass service quality has deteriorated. Some staff so inexperienced as to pose an imminent danger to eye care. In a nutshell, avoid this franchise at all costs. Giving them even one star is too much. Specifics? Impossible to reach by phone. Excuse? Not enough phone lines since opening a Pooler, GA office. Eyeglasses poorly fitted and too small for my average-size face. Three wasted trips to adjust unsuccessfully. Lenses re-tested elsewhere - shows manufacturing defect. I'm a senior, reliant on others for transportation. Eye glasstechnicians poorly trained, clearly inexperienced. If, after reading this, you still decide to patronize this outfit -- don't blame me I won't be returning -- after 15 years. If you want a pressure-free and excellent experience in eye care, this store is the place to go! The staff is friendly and helpful, without being pushy or sales focused. They are genuinely interested in helping you make a good decision for an affordable price. There was no urging to buy features or add-ons, just good information on options and costs. All of it was an open, aboveboard discussion with accurate up-front pricing. Something I had been dreading turned into my learning reliable knowledge about my eyes and glasses, without the usual "sales" approach that is so annoying and not helpful. I asked to be fitted for hard lenses, which this location does not do (only the Savannah Mall location does fittings). This location made me an appointment. However, when I arrived for my second appointment, the mall location told me that my contacts weren't even ordered yet and they didn't know why the Pooler office had scheduled my appointment. I had to come back a third time to actually get my contacts. They didn't fit perfectly, so they ordered me a second pair--that's fine. But the plot thickens! When I pick up my new (hopefully final) pair of hard contact lenses, they took the old pair that didn't fit. WHY? Are they going to give my used hard contact lenses to someone else? I would also like to note that every time they gave me my lenses, they were not in the sealed sterile packaging. The contacts had been taken out of their original packaging and put into one of those plastic cases. Now I am wondering if I have someone's old ratty contacts--what's to say that they aren't doing this? I find it off-putting that they kept my old pair for no discernible reason and gave me my new pair in a regular plastic case. This, combined with the appointment debacle, means I will not be returning to this location or any other MyEyeDr. location ever again. read more

DO GO HERE!!! My contact prescription expired and I just need an updated one so i could order them. I told the doctor what size I wear. Because this is a size they don't sell, she change my size on the prescription without telling me. I've been wearing for about 20 yrs. The contacts she is trying to push at me cost $120. The contacts I'm use to buying only cost me $45. I've been back twice to try to get it changed and won't. I have to be her over priced contacts or, since I wasted my insurance on them, pay out of pocket for a new exam somewhere else. If you have a particular kind of contact that you like to wear you might not want to go here. If she doesn't sell, she won't help you. Surprised this location is still in business. This was my third trip -other two poor service and limited selection caused me to leave. Today, had 3 frames I liked-wanted to purchase 2 of the 3. Younger lady working there at least comes out from behind counter but gets easily consumed. Not sure what the role of the Afro American lady there was but she never left the counter nor spoke to anyone. Waited 35 minutes for help and left without anyone saying anything. read more

Paper work says one thing every time you call you get a different answer. All the staff I dealt with were professional and courteous. I went in to get an eye exam and get new lenses for my old frames. They did a great job on the lenses and fitting them to the frames and the lens grind was right on. The prices seemed rather high, but since I haven't bought glasses for 15 years my ideas on cost are out of date apparently. read more

Leewood Still, OD was the doctor who performed my eye exam during my first visit to the Pooler location of MyEyeDr. She was recommended by my primary care physician. While I was dubious about the merits of a chain optical provider, my visit compared very favorably with my experiences over the 60 years that I have worn glasses. Leewood Still was very knowledgeable and performed a thorough exam. The store manager helped me choose my frames and guided me through all the lens options available that would work with my prescription. I need a very strong prescription, so this stage is crucial in obtaining the best possible glasses. The other staff members were also knowledgeable, helpful and polite. The range of frames was impressive. The facility was clean and cheerful. It is easy to access and has plenty of parking. I would definitely recommend using this location of MyEyeDr. Addressing a remark in a previous review: the many lens options available were in no way pushed at me. I actually knew what I needed and wanted when I went in. The woman who helped me with my order explained some of the newer options, but also explained the advantages of each, and what could and couldn't be used with my prescription. I have no optical insurance, so the warranties I was offered, at $22 a pair of glasses, seemed like a good option for me. I actually got the feeling she was more interested than I was about affordability. The final price for two pairs of glasses, the second pair at 50% off, was lower than the price of one pair of glasses the last time I had a prescription filled at an optician in Los Angeles. read more

We have been going to this place for years and this year is the first time we received such terrible customer service. My husband took time off his job in South Carolina to continue using this place(just like so many people I'm sure) and had traffic in the way there. He called to say he was trying to get there but there was traffic. When he got there the lady said he made his appointment by one minute and asked him to have a seat. He sat and then the lady came over 5 minutes later to say that he had missed his appointment by 3 minutes and she was going to need to reschedule him. There were no other customers present. They have lost a self paying customer now. We shall find someplace that values their customers. read more

Horrible customer service. Clerks are very rude. I was intentionally "overlooked". 3 other customers were acknowledged that came in after me. I had to say something myself to be serviced. I already stated when I came in that I was there to pick up glasses and signed in and notified on sheet as well. I sat down since all clerks were occupied. After older lady (wish i got her name) finished what she was doing instead of assisting me who was by her desk waiting to be serviced she decides to help a Caucasian gentleman who just walked in the door! Yes, I am a woman of color. Shortly afterwards another clerk does the same thing! Ask to speak to manager was told she thought I was looking around... really?! She didn't bother to ask may I help you and was present the whole time within earshot so she should of been able to hear the reason i was there. Never felt so offended in my life. I will never return to this location. You guys really need to learn how to treat customers, leave your racist/prejudice, nasty looks, and attitudes at home! Sent my teenage daughter for 2 pair of eyeglasses. They upsold her all kinds of coatings, warranties etc...$400. Thats fine and probably needed. Our medical spending plan denied reimbursement of $33 "warranties". Asked them to remove warranty and refund to plan. They said we would have to charge more for the glasses. We have bought numerous pair of glasses from them and was disappointed with response. UPDATE: Myeyedr rep Pierre contacted me and explained this was a mistake and quickly fixed the problem.
