I recently worked for this company, and was completely disappointed that a "professional" company…read moresuch as themselves could be so disrespectful to their employees. It was my first time working for a plywood manufacturer and only after 4 weeks of actually being in the office, time missed due to quarantine. The woman training me, Lisa Sheets, became undependable to ask questions and get information from. She started to blame me for errors that were not from myself, some of the errors even being hers. She put me down for writing notes on sticky notes and putting them at my desk, because to her that meant I "Didn't know" the information. Even though I wanted it to refer back to until I felt confident in knowing it. Biff Jones, the owner, screamed at the warehouse employees when things didn't go as planned, as if people are perfect and not supposed to make mistakes. Biff Jones, and Lisa Sheets were the most unprofessional, disrespectful, power hungry people I've ever met. I had been sick with stomach bugs, which she insisted I go home, even when I begged her to let me stay to work and learn. Then to turn around and tell me I've missed to much time and I wasn't where SHE wanted me to be. Through my whole time working there, if I'm not allowed to ask questions how am I supposed to get where I need to be? That entire plant, office and warehouse, if you didn't understand something. You were belittled, and treated like you were stupid. Everyone was rude, ignorant, trying to dig into your business to use it against you. I have never felt so upset that a company could treat people like that. After she fired me because I wasn't "The right fit" which I think it was more of a "I'm jealous everyone likes you and isnt talking to me anymore". I grabbed my things peacefully and quietly, and went to my car to call my mother. Next thing I know they had CALLED THE COPS ON ME, and told them I was "Refusing to leave" and I had "Carried on" when they fired me. Do not support a company who can't even support their new employees to learn and strive.

I had explained what I wanted a quote on (flooring) and had scheduled a day for a quote. I had reached out to NHF and explained that I would be out of town 4/12, but my realtor and mother would be present and know exactly what I wanted done. 4/20...I'm still waiting on a quote. I reached out to Susan who was very pleasant and stated she would call me back after speaking with Chip. Chip called me back within 5 minutes (called me Nathan, my name is Zachary) and was very rude on the phone, stating he was blind sided when her got to the property. He said he didn't know what to measure (why would you agree to do a quote without knowing what needed to be measured before hand?) even though my realtor, mother and Susan (sales clerk) knew exactly what I wanted. My realtor reported he wasn't very approachable. Come to find out he never measured and left, never informing me of this. Meanwhile, I'm sitting around waiting on a quote. I will never use NHF for anything. It sucks because Susan was great and they have great products. Chip needs to take a class on customer service etiquette. Go to Weckers, better customer service!

Once again we used North Hills Flooring to perform work in our home and we are absolutely thrilled…read morewith the service, materials and professional workmanship. The job site was kept immaculately clean throughout each work day with a final clean at the end of work day #5. With due care, we were able to use our kitchen and access the stairs to our 2nd floor while the work was being performed. The disgusting DIY flooring was demolished, the existing subfloor was screwed down virtually eliminating all of the existing floor squeaks, the installer relieved a hump in the middle of the kitchen, installed the Luan underlayment to the existing subfloor with literally thousands of staples, and sealed all joints with Ardex. The installer expertly trimmed underneath all wood moldings and kitchen cabinets so that the LVT could be installed underneath instead of just abutting the moldings and cabinets. There were 5 major areas that needed to be squared on the floor prior to laying out the tiles, cementing the underlayment, and installing the LVT. All 3 of the cased wall openings received identical reveals between the LVT and other flooring materials. New shoe moldings, cove base and transition strips were installed, and the entire job site was cleaned squeaky clean. This was the 3rd project done for us in our home by North Hills Flooring, and we will definitely use them once again during our next remodel. The owners, Chip & Susan Weile, are extremely knowledgeable about the products they sell, and they both have an artistic eye toward home interior design.

I could not recommend MidAtlantic for OSHA Forklift Training for 2014, but it sounds like they are…read morelistening, responsive, and making changes for 2015. In 2014, you couldn't take the $5 booklet home with you, just in case you thought that that might have been included with your $175 tuition. The forklift hands-on training was fairly worthless from my experience in 2014. You take an empty pallet from one side of a parking lot to the other and set it down. I didn't learn much, but the CEO said they are making big changes in 2015 and I really appreciate his responsiveness. I can now highly recommend MidAtlantic as very few companies monitor and respond to reviews in timely fashion. I would rather go to a responsive, caring, and innovative company like MidAtlantic than any other company that has 100 positive reviews and no response from the CEO. The employees that deserve mention are definitely Bob & Ivy. Bob really cared about SAFETY FIRST and his stories really showed that. Ivy the receptionist was also super helpful and communicative. Although MidAtlantic taught that off site training was requisite per OSHA (and I still would send my employees to MidAtlantic for training), but FYI you should train your own employees on site as well to satisfy OSHA standards from what I can tell: You can train & certify your own employees FOR FREE if you follow the OSHA standard: OSHA standard. 1910.178(I)(2)(ii) requires initial training of "formal instruction" (classroom, video, interactive computer learning etc.), "practical training" (hands on demonstration and exercise) and evaluation of the operator's performance in the workplace. Just use this site: http://www.free-training.com/osha/forklift/forkmenu.htm & then certify your people with hands-on training & evaluate & document it. See OSHA's rule from here: https://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp.show_document?p_table=FEDERAL_REGISTER&p_id=13456 "The employer may choose the training provider. This could include contracting with an outside professional training company to come into the company and train the powered industrial truck operators or the employer developing and conducting the training program. In either case, the employer can choose the method or methods by which the employees will be trained and when the training is conducted." Also, it is a myth that you need to send your employees to retrain offsite every three years guys. According to OSHA you just need to re-evaluate them every three years by observing them doing PIT work that they normally do and document it. An evaluation is not training. See here: Myth - OSHA says I met do refresher training for powered industrial trucks every 3 years. Interesting. Where? Has your safety consultant been charging you for this service? Maybe you bought an expensive training kit in fear that you need to renew everyone's forklift "license" every 3 years. We help clients get discounts on some of the best training kits on the market and provide this training but I always clarify the OSHA standard. 1910.178(I)(2)(ii) requires initial training of "formal instruction" (classroom, video, interactive computer learning etc.), "practical training" (hands on demonstration and exercise) and evaluation of the operator's performance in the workplace. Refresher training of an employee when the PIT is used in an unsafe manner, an accident/near miss occurs, does not pass the evaluation, assigned a different truck or conditions change in the workplace that could affect safe operation of the truck. But where did the every 3 years idea come from? 1910.178(I)(4)(iii) requires an "evaluation of each powered industrial truck operator's performance" to be "conducted at least once every 3 years." An evaluation is not training. - See more at: http://www.hshi.com/interpreting-osha-forklift-myths/#sthash.HCqJ9FGC.dpuf In fact, offsite training doesn't satisfy OSHA standards since OSHA standards dictate that you must be trained and evaluated on the equipment that you use. So you can still get hit with OSHA fines even if you have offsite training every three years: 4.19.2 The operator training program should include the user's policies for the site where the trainee will operate the truck, the operating conditions for that location, and the specific truck the trainee will operate.
