Three things stand out to me about this Dick's store location…read more 1. It is busy all the time. Any day of the week. Any time of day. 2. It is very clean and merchandise is always nicely arranged. 3. Online order pickup is great. They always have your order ready on time and you never have to wait long at the pick up desk. Considering how busy they are (see #1), I am always pleasantly surprised by this.

Hadn't been to this store in eons. I was desperate to find a pelvic and/or thigh/groin support…read morebelt/strap. I already scoped out another store, but found nothing. It popped in my head to try Dick's. I thought for sure they'd have one, considering it's an athletic store, and huge at that. I am a 53-yr-old woman with RA and fibro, and I severely strained the thigh, back, pelvis and groin areas. I had to use my cane to enter the store; I grabbed a small cart to lean on, as well. The guy standing near the entrance said hi, but didn't ask if I was looking for something specific. I looked around, lost, so looped back to him and asked where support belts and such would be. He told me they were located upstairs. He then mentioned an elevator, and pointed in the general direction. I knew I couldn't take the escalator, because I needed to lean on the cart at that point. I searched all over for the elevator, and nothing. I finally looped back around to the restroom sign, and eventually realized a small makeshift sign was taped to the wall, noting the elevator was down the corridor. It was very generic and not noticeable from afar. The elevator is way in the back, hidden, old, worn and it reeked inside. The #2 button was taped over, and only #3 or #1 could be pressed. I don't know why there is even a #3, but I chanced it anyway. It took me to level two. lol I finally found the wall where all of the braces were attached to, albeit quite far away from the elevator. The area is quite congested, and not really made for a cart to traverse. I was relieved to find the wall of braces...only to be let down. Out of all the rows and rows of braces, straps, support this and that, not one single item for the pelvis and/or groin. I didn't even see a spot where it's supposed to be, so I suspect they don't even carry them in-store. Additionally, I noticed there were no price labels anywhere, so it was a complete guessing game as to cost. In severe pain, I had to wobble away and get back to the 2nd floor. I took the escalator, and left the cart there. I didn't want to get back into the smelly, clunky, old-sounding elevator again. A young female employee saw me when I got to the bottom, and asked if I found everything I was looking for. I said, "No..." She just chuckled and said, "Oh..." I then replied, "I couldn't find what I was looking for..." She didn't say anything back. No offer to help, find another employee, etc. After going to a 3rd store, I gave up. I just ordered online and I get my brace tomorrow. I was just hoping to have one today, and maybe even try it on, to ensure it fits well, etc. Such a shame that Dick's didn't deliver. A huge store like that should have them as a no-brainer...and on the 2nd floor to boot. You'll have people coming in probably in pain, so why put them on the 2nd floor? lol Makes no sense. The employees need to be more connected and interactive. Lastly, that elevator is horrible. And please make signs which direct you from the point of entry all the way to the elevator! This is basic 101 stuff.

While Conrads and College Traditions are not leaving Lan Avenue, Buckeye Corner and Buckeye Room are all over central Ohio and even have some non Columbus locations. I have been to the Buckeye Room at Tuttle and now Polaris multiple times over the years. They use to have some of the best memorabilia around and a bunch of cheap of brand clothing, decor, and Buckeye branded whatever. Now they have far less memorabilia and much more apparel of higher quality, more diversity, and higher prices. Comparing them to their closest competitor, Buckeye Corner, they pretty much carry 75% of the same things. Prices may be higher at one on one item and lower on another. I think Buckeye Room has more sizes in stock while Buckeye Corner has more stores where you may find what you are looking for. The customer service at both is mehhhhh. It seems to me that you never see the same employees more than a few times because it seems like their average employees only work there 3-6 months at a time. I can't tell you how many times I have had employees have to go ask someone else a question or how to do something because they don't know or haven't been trained. I suppose that is why I like shopping on Lane Avenue as much as I do. I think Conrads has more for your home and outdoors, I think Buckeye Corner has the best Nike selection, I think College Traditions has the best prices, sales, and kids apparel, and Buckeye Room has a mix of a little of all the above. As far as Buckeye Room goes they are a destination for the Ohio State fan or someone shopping for them. You can literally find something for everyone. The bad is they are located in the malls so it isn't as accessible as others and they are often short staffed when they get busy. I would recommend shopping here and try to come in durring off times to get the best service.

Well, this store (personally) gives me a bit more perspective as to what drove him to make those blasphemous buckeye blips. Unfortunately, the Buckeyes happened to be target but we all know there are shops like this in every college town in every state in the US. If your prone to seizures this place might not be for you. All the red and gray everywhere has a tendency to mess with your eyes. Kidding, but it is a bit much even for me (a transplant OSU fan via Alabama). I thought SEC fans were a bit over the top, but I am on the verge of calling it.

The merch is well organized and there's a large variety. The store sells exercise equipment, clothing and shoes, plus lots of gear for any sport or regime. I like the sales they have on thick socks in the winter as they have really good socks. I do wish they had more cotton clothing though, I don't like exercising in polyester ick. You can absorb microplastic that way even. The lack of sustainable and healthier clothing made me remove a star. Overall it's a very nice store with great parking and right by the food court.

Not a fan of this location since they had a re-opening Aug 15-17th and I did visit this location…read moreduring that time. Not sure I understand what the re-opening was for the store was over the top on staff, sound - so freaking LOUD and everything was over the top visually. It was gross. When I asked a staff member where they kept their women's Bombas socks - preferably the three package ones - I literally, was given the run around. We paced around the stop needlessly as it was clear she didn't know where to send me after reaching out to a colleague on her phone system. WEIRD. When I finally found myself around the shoe area looking for the Bombas, I had some glimmer of hope when a sales guy approached me asking if I was the one seeking Bombas and he got me to what I wanted. Not sure why this store (as well as others) spread out the Bombas pickings why not keep them in one spot but it is what it is. I miss the old Polaris store. This new Dick's House of Sport is just too weird. Yes, I'm an athlete and appreciate helping community members and putting forth a new in-store experience I suppose I was looking for something different. Decent back up store to my Easton if anything is needed just be aware of the new layout and experience. Just ok.
