Let me start by walking you through the front door. The reception staff are very friendly and cooperative and should you have a question they wont make you wait long for an answer. This is so important, because they make you feel welcome right away. If your appointment was scheduled for, lets say, 9 AM. You will either be seen a few minutes before 9 or just shortly after. One of Dr. Kechichian's staff will lead you to your room. Dr.K will then see you PERSONALLY. Never a PA to do the work. Very personable, knowlegable, and thorough. I cannot say enough good about the service and professionalism of this office. I am currently taking radiation treatments for small cell carcinoma, a new service in this office. and could not be more appreciative of the interaction with the radiologist, who is very thorough as well. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a dermatologist office. I've been struggling with hormonal acne and was finally brave enough to go into an office for help. The Dr didn't ask me a single question about my lifestyle, diet or what I've tried to do to solve the problem. He even insulted me by saying "whatever you're doing clearly isn't working" and pointed to my face. He spent maybe 5 minutes tops with me, prescribed me an antibiotic but didn't even tell me what it was for or how it works or any information about it. Couldn't answer the questions I had about it and basically changed the subject. I've never felt so humiliated by a doctor before in my life. If you actually want answers and a doctor to spend time getting to know you and your needs this is 10000% NOT the place. read more

Since moving to the AV in 2000 I had not found a doctor I was comfortable with till I met Dr. K about three years ago. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, easy to talk to and he cares. As a four decade plus healthcare worker myself, a quarter of that spent in the ICU, I empathize completely with the difficulties surrounding mask wearing. My immune compromised mother, I believe doctor described her condition as fragile, has managed to survive 3 non- Covid related hospital admissions throughout this pandemic and I have a tendency to be a bit protective. Last month my appointment was for 1:45 and I was out of there at 1:27 - yes you read that correctly he called me in early and I was leaving 18 minutes before my originally scheduled appointment. The staff is very professional and down to earth. They will do whatever it takes to make you happy and make sure the scheduling is at your convenience. I wish this doctor was my primary care doctor because he is very, very knowledgeable of his job and takes care of everything you ask of him. I did my research and wanted to go to a Dermatologist that had high reviews in Palmdale , CA. I was suffering with skin issues that would not go away and was so tired of trying home remedies , so I knew it was time to seek professional help. The Office was decorated with Wonderful, Hip Artwork and The Staff smiled and greeted everyone who came through the door. One of the first thing's I noticed instantly is that there was barely any seats available due to how many people who were there (This Place Is very Popular)...That was a good sign!! Dr Kechichian and the nurse (Nicole) that came in with him.... she is the best Nurse EVER! She comes in with such a warm presence..You can't help but feel at home...They instantly put me at ease. I was nervous as to what this rash could be but as soon as the Dr and Nurse saw that my sister and I were twins, they instantly started to joke around with us and made us both forget why we were there. I was not nervous anymore. One thing that I admire about Dr Kechichian is that when He saw my skin condition...He did not just look at my condition and then prescribe just any Ol medication ..He immediately wanted to know what it was and followed every channel to diagnose the condition (He even listened to me as I tried to self diagnose myself lol). He did a Biopsy and it was painless (Joking the whole while) getting my mind off of everything. He studies what is wrong and really cares. Dr Kechichian and his staff are conscientious professionals, kind, and give excellent care. I called the office in a panic, because a cut from shaving seemed to have become badly infected. It looked horrid, and my leg had swollen. They were booked, but when I explained that it was a dire emergency, they kindly squeezed me in. Dr Kechichian calmly diagnosed contact dermatitis from Neosporin, as well as the medical adhesive in the Bandaids I'd used. It appears that the Neomycin antibiotic used in Neosporin is a very common allergen, and that medical adhesive commonly cause reactions, too. I looked at the box of Bandaids I'd used, and it turned out they were Bandaid Tough Strips. It was labeled in smaller print to contain Super Stick Adhesive. I had some trouble getting the cream he'd ordered filled, as it was off formulary. In the meantime, my husband asked me if it was a flesh eating virus. He wasn't kidding. It looked awful. He said his doctor had an opening for me to get a culture. I thought, what harm could it do if I got it cultured? Then the assay could be running in the background, while I work out getting Dr. Kechichian's prescription filled, or get him to prescribe an alternative. What harm could it do? A lot, apparently. At the other doctor's office, who shall remain nameless, she just dry swabbed the outside of the skin. That's not helpful as an indication of infection, as most people have staph on the outside of their skin. She also applied a strong prescription antibiotic ointment. My skin hated that antibiotic ointment with a passion. My leg swelled up far more, and I itched all over. I fantasized about throwing myself to the ground on my gravel driveway and rolling over and over like a dog. I deserve some sort of medal for not scratching, and a face palm for going anywhere else. I am allergic to Penicillin, and apparently Neomycin, and cross reacted to whatever was in this topical antibiotic. I made it so very much worse. This was a very serious development, as I have asthma. Anything that causes swelling could be dangerous if it affects my airway. I called Dr. Kechichian's office and confessed my goof. He prescribed an alternate cream that immediately knocked out the original problem at the site of the cut, but I was still covered in itchy hives -my penance for asking the question that precedes most self-inflicted disasters, "What harm could it do?" He checked on the progress of my leg, and then prescribed an antihistamine which immediately knocked the hives back. Oh, how I wish I'd just called Dr. Kechichian's office instead of taking my husband up on the offer of getting a culture at his doctor's office. I could have prevented a lot of discomfort. It appears that I just kept piling on the allergens, repeatedly, over the course of weeks. I had diligently applied Neosporin and kept it covered with extra-strong Bandaids as the cut seemed to worsen, before seeing Dr Kechichian, and then I had applied another strong antibiotic antigen on top of it all. Oops. Please learn from my series of mistakes. The moral of the story is to go straight to Dr. Kechichian's office if you have a problem, and STAY THERE. I would also like to express my appreciation for all of his staff. Every single member of his staff whom I met were kind, personable, and professional, and the nurse is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. They worked diligently to get me seen, immediately called in prescriptions, and they called to follow up to see how I was doing. I could see their schedule was booked completely solid, and yet they worked me in since I was so worried it was an infection. Everyone was kind and the office ran smoothly. I went to this doctor for a skin condition that didn't present on the surface of my skin; Dr. told me he was unable to help me because of that fact. I wanted to know what I could do for the severe itching and he said, well he could give me a mild steroid for a couple of days and if that didn't work, UV phototherapy might work. The phototherapy seemed to help a little, then the itch got worse. Every time I call the office, staff puts me on hold and never picks up the phone after that. The last phone call I made was to question if I could come in immediately, as my itch was now a rash and of course, I was on hold longer than 10 minutes. My opinion of both Dr. Keshishian and his staff is they are not caring people and lack work ethics. I need a real doctor--not an aesthetitian. read more

Dr. Kechichian was the dermatologist my medical group referred me to. I haven't been to one in years. The staff were nice and filing out the paperwork was easy. So with that as my small introduction...WOW is all I can say. I was called back by his male medical assistant or nurse, not sure which one, who was very personable, easy to chat with and looked like he was a body builder with tattoos. Very different for the medical field so that's why the saying is true, "Never judge a book by it's cover." Made you feel as though you knew him forever. Then Dr. Kechichian walked in wearing jeans and a t-shirt. No generic lab coat. Right away his personality shined and you felt you were important as a patient to him and took his profession seriously and cared about his patients. He was cheery and good humored. And again like you'd known him forever. What caught my eye was the paintings. I commented to his assistant how beautiful they were and at the end of my appointment his assistant took me on a tour of every office and the doctors and showed me all the artwork. He also told me the doctor designed the whole office and should have been a interior designer. Today is our second visit. The staff is terrible. We wait forever to see the doctor, and the front desk staff doesn't deal with his patients at all. They wait for "them back there" to come call patients. I called the office today and someone answered and said "one minute" and put me on hold. So unprofessional.
