Searched for coin shops around the area and came up with Hoosier Coin & Currency based on Google reviews. I called to make an appointment, as per the site's direction. The business was a popular place, and I understand now why appointments are recommended. There were several customers in the store, but they eventually finished perusing and departed. The owner was highly knowledgeable and friendly, he knew the background on many of the coins I'd brought in. I was very impressed! His pricing also seemed very fair. I highly recommend Hoosier Coin & Currency.

Prices were a little higher than what you would see online, but with service like that I will definitely consider them for my next purchase.

This company is shady and overcharged me at a picker sale, and then lied about it…read more The man working the checkout table verbally told me an amount, never showed me his phone screen before asking me to tap for payment, and by the time I got to my car, I realized the error. When I went back to explain that I was overcharged, I was told I was lying and the man claimed he "would NEVER make such a mistake." It was genuinely so weird and deeply disturbing. (They will no doubt reply to this review claiming that I am lying because that is 100% who they showed themselves to be today.) His "solution" was for me to return everything and get a refund, but I wanted the items I got. So I'm left paying twice what I was told and he can go on being a crook. In the end, lesson learned about tapping for payment without seeing the amount with my own eyes, but I'm sharing this to prevent others from being swindled by this company/man. I also overheard them say that they burn most of what they don't sell if they can't trade things in for scrap...
