We contracted CDG to do a roofed deck to attached to our house being built by another builder. I have to say that I was highly impressed with Pete Sorge, Dan Brewer and their team. Dan Brewer was very patient and responsive during the initial consultative phase. There were 2 companies competing for our business and we are glad we went with CDG. They showed us a cheaper and efficient way to build our outdoor kitchen, saving us close to $7000 on the kitchen alone. Meeting Pete was also pleasurable experience. He was equally patient and pleasant and very flexible to meet our needs. Both guys are very laid back ease your mind. When we scaled down our walkway, the amount of credit we got was very generous. They have an open process for their pricing. We felt so much at ease that we added other aspects like walkway, front entry and mailbox. Their crew of workers were very dedicated; came to work in the cold and snowy days. My 10 and 11 years olds were asking us to get the hot chocolate to keep them warm. CDG was the definitely brightest spot throughout this second construction process, and their work was served as our stress release from the builder of the main house. The work is not half done but I have no doubt we selected the best group with reasonable pricing. We definitely have our peace of mind now. UPDATE: Since writing my earlier review, we have found that the progress of work has been very slow. Most of the time they have one mason on site. It seems to us there is no commitment to our project and finishing it soon enough so we can have access to our yard and do other things we need to accomplish. It seems that they have shifted resources away to other jobs. If you choose this company and want your job done on time, I recommend that you insist on a firm timeline and include it in the contract. Also inquire about the number of masons available for your project and include it in the contract.

We particularly appreciated their experienced advice as to where they recommended we spend or save money for features or materials. They were also the only ones that would redo the lighting in our place without dropping the ceiling. They also have a five-year warranty, which gives us peace of mind with such an expensive and major redesign. We had new solid wood floors installed, complete remodel for the kitchen with new cabinets, sink, island, and quartz wall tiles, added new appliances and they were able to add conveniences such as a pantry and more functional cabinet spaces. They also updated our lighting and electrical switches. Na and Sway were generally good at responding within a day or so of reaching out. There were a few times when we had communication issues, such as what was written in the contract, but we were able to resolve them quickly. I also commend them for helping with getting our Sub-Zero/Wolf appliances through the door even though they were not responsible for that and helping fix damages done by the ABW appliances delivery team. We would recommend them again, the kitchen cabinets, fixtures and lighting are very well done. Our condo is small so their ability to help turn the kitchen into a space a master chef would be proud of and is more functional and better floor plan is much appreciated. The finished kitchen has a wow factor for everyone who has seen it and could be in a design magazine. We intend to use them again for our bathroom remodeling jobs in the future.

Near the end of the project, we had an issue in our basement (unrelated to the remodel, a wall came down when we put up our own shelving) and they were able to come in quickly to completely reno the basement as well. Enough said. - Great personal service: Na was super responsive, and helped us make decisions on finishes within my budget (even coming to the house with countertop, flooring, and cabinet samples based on a general idea of our style). I'm pretty indecisive so I have to give Na a lot of credit for putting up with my text messages that said things like: "Would this paint color look weird with the tiles I selected?" Or "idk, what do you think we should do with this space?" Her suggestions were definitely better than what I could come up with on my own. - Budget: Na and Sway really worked with us on our budget. We were able to get quality where it counted with no upsells, and spend less in areas that either weren't as important to us, or where the price is less of an indicator of quality. This was really important to me because I don't have the time, patience, or expertise to price shop for materials on my own. -Creativity: I had two contractors tell me they likely would not have the space to turn my powder room into a bathroom with a shower. When Na and Sway came over for the estimate, they very quickly identified that they could move the toilet and sink to another spot and knock out the pantry to make it happen. It looks amazing, and feels more spacious than before strangely enough. We also wanted to knock out part of our kitchen wall, but their were vents in the way making it impossible. They quickly came up with a solution to MOVE THE VENTS (!) at a lower cost than expected. - Professionalism and Quality: The end project was incredible and it feels like a different home. When I got there, two of the guys helped me load in my large item and did it with a smile. They even wrapped it for me to prevent damage. Easy peasy. My only (minor) complaint would be that the loading dock isn't very loading friendly since they have a large platform and the stairs from the platform are narrow. The platform is useless for cars and SUVs. Didn't affect me since the guys loaded my item for me.

Performing the work myself was a task I surely did dread. Although I made many calls, sadly, I received no response at all. I was about to give up, thinking I had the worst luck. I then saw an advertisement for NYSA Construction. I am delighted to say, when I made the call, they came out the following Monday. Project Manager Jason Fangmeyer promised to submit to me an estimate that would fit my budget. He said, "Yes, indeed. I know what you need." He took the time to explain. He promised he could ease my shed's pain. He said he would replace the shed's rotten wood. He promised that he really could. When I received the great estimate, the work I did permit. I knew it was Jason Fangmeyer I would hire. The price was right. Jason promised I would find his work quality to be a sheer delight. Jason and his men arrived at the promised date. Don't touch this company with a ten foot pole especially for a bathroom remodel. The workers only…read morestay until 2-3pm each day, they don't come prepared so there end up being multiple trips and breaks. Because of this the work took longer than quoted I was out of a shower in a single bathroom home for an additional week, paying for a hotel room to shower. I found multiple areas of missing grout that had to be filled in with caulk since the grout had dried. The sink leaked right after instal. The bathtub drain wouldn't close and the worker informed me they didnt think it would close when they installed it but they didnt check or tell me. They had to come back not even a month later to re-caulk the bathtub because it had cracked. The bathtub caulk has cracked again, and i've found cracks in the grout of the floor tiles now. I finally took a bath for the first time and I woke up to a giant wet spot on the ceiling in the room below the bathroom the next morning. Hopefully they can figure it out and fix it but never again will I be using them.
