The staff at the front desk could not have been more professional and friendly when I checked in and only had to wait just a few minutes for Charlene, my masseuse to be ready. The facility is spotless, meticulously maintained, and COVID conscious. My masseuse, Charlene, was unbelievable. She stretched my problem areas, really worked through the tightness and stiffness in my entire body, focusing on the injured leg. I am not exaggerating when I say that this is probably the best massage I ever had. I walked out of there feeling so much better, and it was the first time in weeks without a limp on the affected leg. I again explained the situation and sincerely apologized, asking if the cancellation fee could be waived given the circumstances. Unfortunately, the response felt cold and lacked empathy. I was told the charge could not be waived, despite this being a true emergency completely out of our control. We were not just charged a standard cancellation fee -- we were charged the full cost of the massage, totaling $250.00. I also requested that a manager or owner return my call to further discuss the situation, but I never received a follow-up call. The lack of response was especially disappointing and unprofessional. I understand and respect that businesses have cancellation policies to protect against no-shows and last-minute cancellations. However, there should be room for compassion and discretion in genuine, unavoidable emergencies. Customer service and empathy matter. We will be returning to Savannah to complete the trip we were unable to enjoy, but we will choose a different spa.
