Second store out in Drummoyne for Salt Meats Cheese…read more The store is shared with Harris Farm. Walked in around 140pm on a Saturday and all the tables were taken! So opted to just grab a pre made ham roll. Order and pay at the counter and you will get a number. I ordered 2 X ham and three cheese buns $7 and a Nutella muffin$5 . I didn't realize till after I left that they gave me a Nutella donut instead of a muffin! Sigh. They place looks like it's still finding its feet. Will be back and hopefully won't be as busy.

I know lots of people who would give Avenue Road Providore's a higher star rating than I have; it's…read morea staple source of family meals and 'bring a plate' quiches that half of Mosman seems to resort to. It's sturdy, uncomplicated food, available fresh or frozen, with a delicious looking range of cakes and slices to boot. So what lets them down? I simply can't go past the Saturday lunch for which we were all craving sausage rolls ... the delicious, juicy, meaty ones with crisp flaky pastry. There were none on display, but they assured us they had some and packed them into a bag for us to take home. But it was all wrong! A sausage - yep, a whole skin-covered Frankfurter-like sausage - sticking out the ends of a blanket of flat uninteresting shortcrust. A huge disappointment - one that I am probably taking an irrationally long time to get over. I may venture back, but in a suburb that is back-to-back deli and prepared food options, it's 'rolled' down my list. So sad.

I do rate their $4.50 chicken and beef takeaway pies for fantastic taste and value They also do a wonderful honey baked ham. However its true there is a saturation of delicatessens and providores within this area that would make the 5 star rating easily and most of them have seating.

What I remember…read more.. What I remember is a very high ceilinged space decked out in some kind of faux Roman motif, ionic pillars and a decidedly out of place astro turf patch in the middle of the room. What I remember is a wooden bar, that looked like it had been dropped into place, pop-up style, as an afterthought to service thirsty drinkers. What I remember is tall bar stools and round tables at which those thirsty drinkers sat, talking loudly amongst themselves whilst they imbibed Yaks and Rabbits. What I remember is the Rabbits were White, in bottles, not tapped as my companion prefers. What I remember is those fake fanned flame ribbons set in sconces on the wall. Dancing mesmerisingly. What I remember is artwork, displayed and on sale via consignment. Too rich for my tastes. What I remember was we had a good time but this was a pit stop not a destination. .

An hour later, the manager called me, saying that there was only 1 high chair available at the restaurant and a family was using it. Since we were running late, I told him that it's ok and we would roll up late, hoping that the family would be done dining then. When we showed up at the restaurant, the manager told me that he had borrowed another high chair from Hilton hotel (next door) just in case. That was a decent surprise! The service at the restaurant was superb ! Food was very good as well. The dinner special - Homemade linguine with grilled prawns was delicious. (highly recommended! they should put this on the main menu !). The linguine was cooked to perfection and the sauce was really good. For dessert, I had the warm chocolate cake with cream & strawberries. Two thumbs up ! worth every penny! I would definitely revisit this restaurant to try other items on the menu.

All of our plans and requests were given the appropriate attention, as well as the attention to detail. The catering was spot on, the setup was personally overseen by the same person that hoped us plan our wedding. The grounds were manicured the day before - nothing was out of place or left to chance. We were encouraged to pay a visit to the venue the day before to verify all was as we had planned. I STRONGLY recommend that anyone thinking about a venue for either a wedding, photos or a reception to consider Belgenny Farm. They have a Bridal Fair every JUNE, and should be on any Bridal Fair Circuit you may be thinking about.
