I was in town on my last day and needed a ring sized from a 6 to a 4 1/2. I received a response within minutes of my call. Baguettes along each side of the center stone, could be compromised, causing them to loosen when making the ring that much smaller. Well apparently that's what happened but there's no one I trust more than My Jeweler (Simon) to be able to handle this and he did a beautiful job! Price was reasonable and He was very accommodating. I was looking for diamond earrings, and Simon took the time to explain the various options for the diamond setting as well as the various earring post options. I appreciate that he made sure I had a thorough understanding of what I was purchasing. Went there today for only the 2nd time in about 8 years. I remembered it being a friendly place. Glad to see that they still are. I had an engraving on the inside of a copper bangle bracelet, of today's date. Not a big deal, and not a moneymaker for them. But Carl spent a lot of time with me showing the different scripts, and was really friendly. (I'm not sure if his name is Carl, but it seems to be from the other reviews.) I'd gone to a place by Staples on 7th and Mountain and they were actually mean people. Especially their jewelry repair guy. I used to go to a tiny jewelry repair shop in Montclair Mall. But lady who took it over about 7 years ago is rude and her prices were ridiculous. I'm going to go to this place from now on. read more

If we could give this establishment more than 5 stars we definitely would. My fiance had bought an engagement ring at another jeweler. I had worn it about 3 months and realized there were some things wrong with it. I took it here to get it checked out and to verify what I was seeing were actual imperfections, they were very gracious in telling me what was wrong with it. They specifically made sure to tell me they do NOT like to talk down on other jeweler's work, so they would just tell me what was wrong with my ring and that was it. I appreciate them so much for it. We tried to get it sorted out with the original jeweler my fiance had purchased it with, but, unfortunately..it just didn't work out. So after having gone into my jeweler and getting their honest observation of my previous ring, my fiancé and i decided we would go ahead and purchase a wedding set from them. Greatest decision we could have made. They have excellent customer service, they stand behind their work, and have good quality jewelry. I am very pleased with the wedding set my fiancé chose for me from them, he said the price was spot on, and definitely very worth it. There's a reason why every single review for this place has 5 stars- because I would give it more than 5 if I could!!! I had lost a small diamond in my engagement ring setting and the place we originally bought it from went out of business. I was recommended My Jeweler through a friend and I will definitely not be going anywhere else! On top of replacing the diamond, I ended up having to get prongs fixed and they recommended I get my rings soldered together (best recommendation ever!!!) and they took time to actually educate me on taking care of my ring and gave a detailed explanation on what they would be fixing and broke down the cost. I got my ring back this week and could not be happier with the work- it feels like a brand new ring. They are also a full service repair shop which I thought was great. In March of this year I damaged a family heirloom, a jade ring, that belonged to my Nana. The piece had been in my family for ages and I hadn't gone a day without since 2006. When I called My Jeweler I was given a quote and a 4-6 week time frame because of the extensive damage and frailty of the piece. At week 4, I received a phone call and an update on the progress. At week 6 I was told I could come in and pick it up. Upon picking it up I realized how above and beyond they had gone. They completely reconstructed the piece while keeping the integrity of my Nana's ring. Not only did they exceed our expectations but they came in under their quoted price! Carl is going out of business and is a very grumpy old man because of it. I bought a present for my mother for Christmas, saw a couple nice rings that I wanted to potentially get my gf. After gifting the present to my mom she told me she had a credit with the store due to them not being able to find a stone up to her standards for a particular ring she had gotten from them. When I went to use this credit Carl refused to accept it as payment as it had been "too long" and "too hard to find in his records". After a long argument he finally decided he wouldn't continue to try and scam us. In the process he was extremely rude and unprofessional, trying to intimidate my mother who came in alone to try and remedy the situation. Carl you are a very sad old man and if you continue to treat people with disrespect you might end up running into someone that returns the same energy. read more

When you walk in they make you feel like you're the only customer they have. I have made purchases at My Jeweler and had several repairs done. My husband and I recently celebrated our 20th anniversary, and he decided to get me the mother's ring I'd been wanting for years. For a couple of weeks, we visited every jeweler around. We finally were able to get to My Jeweler during their regular hours, and within a few minutes I was shown the perfect ring. We discussed with the owner our options, pricing, ordering, etc. My husband and I went home to make sure it was the one we wanted, comparing it to others that we found. The next day, we ordered it. The final product, received two weeks later, was even better than I had imagined. It's gorgeous. I truly couldn't ask for a better ring, or nicer people to have ordered it from. I've received dozens of compliments on it in just a week of wearing it. When I picked it up, I was told to come back about every six months for cleanings and checks, which is great customer service. My only complaint, and it's very small, is that when we were discussing the ring in our initial visit, we were led to believe I would be wearing it by my actual anniversary date. I was told a few times that they would most likely be ready by then. Then the next say when we ordered, as we finished up we were told "it may takes two weeks or more" (which brought us to the weekend after the anniversary at minimum). It's not a big deal, and the ring was more than worth the wait, I just wish the promises has been consistent. But as you can see, it wasn't even a big enough deal to bring them down from five stars. I absolutely recommend this jeweler to anyone and everyone. The owner and other employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They're working to find you what you want, not what they can sell you and make money off of. We'll definitely be going back for any future jewelry needs! read more

I usually go in just to get things cleaned but I have had a few repairs done there as well and they turned out perfect. I could not be happier with either the service or the rings I received!!! This is a top notch jeweler with fantastic service and personality. They really know how to put the customer first! After looking at a few places to have my fiancee's ring made, after my first short visit I knew this was the place. Both Wendy and Carl do a great job capturing what is desired and offering great advice. I came in with a general direction I wanted to go in for the custom ring I wanted to propose with. The idea I had consisted of two leafs holding three central diamonds and the band being two intertwined branches. They listened to want I had in mind and offered their expertise for the more specific details. Then we worked with their master jeweler Key who worked out the finer details and made a wax sculpture which would be cast into the final product. Over the multiple iterations they were very patient as we continually refined the ring. During the process each time I came in I felt less like a customer and more and more like family. Once the ring was finished I was absolutely blown away with the level of craftsmanship!!! She said yes, so clearly they did a fantastic job! Not only does it have have a very feminine look to it, but the ring feels very sturdy too and should last a long time. The final product can be seen in the picture with two rings in the My Jeweler box. The second ring seen in the same picture is my wedding band. Towards the end of the process I started inquiring about options they had for a Mokume Gane or Damascus Steel band. They showed me a few examples from a vendor they have used for many years. I was really excited when looking through their catalog and really happy I could choose any precious metals to go with they style of band I wanted. They even had the specific ring sizers for vendor to help with their particular fit. Additionally, they even requested a sample in a similar style and metals so I could see it in person before committing. After that I was certain this was the ring and once I saw the finished product a few weeks later I was absolutely amazed!! The only issue was it was about a quarter size too small. However, the vendor expanded it free of charge and now it fits perfectly. Overall, considering both rings were custom, between doing the work in house for the first ring and a great vendor relationship with the band, it ended up being affordable, all things considered. On top of that, the experience was truly second to none. Wendy, Carl, and Key are fantastic people who truly love what they do and care for their customers even more!!! I would recommend My Jeweler without a doubt. Thank you for making two beautiful rings that my wife and I will carry with us for the rest of our lives! read more

Got a 3 stone diamond promise ring for Christmas but it was a little too big for my finger so i looked all around upland/montclair area for an affordable jeweler to re-size my ring and found My Jeweler! I went there today to get my ring sized down and get two of the prongs on my diamond ring fixed. Spoke to Carl... They have great service, friendly staff and it was fast! Which was just what i needed. Got everything fixed and re-sized in about an hour 1/2. Also they are VERY affordable! I wanted to find a high quality jeweler who would replace my watch battery and add a few links to my watch band. Moreover, I wanted the work to be done while I waited and for a reasonable price. After reading the Yelp reviews of several local jewelers, I read the reviews for My Jeweler. I called ahead to make sure that they could do the work while I waited. Wendy answered the phone promptly and was polite and knowledgeable. In about an hour, I visited the store and found the owner, Carl, ready to help me. He promptly replaced the battery and offered to reseal the case because he heard me mention my use of the watch while diving. And although he encountered some difficulty installing the after-market links I provided, he found parts in his own inventory that he used to make my links work. And the cost? $14.50 plus tax! And, if I need additional adjustments to the wrist band for this watch, the additional work is covered under the original $7.00 charge! This is the absolute BEST jewelry store around. I have been a customer of theirs for over 10 years. I now live in GA and even if I need something repaired or want to purchase something I wait until I am out visiting so I can go to them. I even tell people where I live that I ONLY buy my jewelry from My Jeweler as they have the most unique pieces and reasonable prices. You won't see jewelry in their store that you can get in every department store jewelry section. Carl, who is the owner always greets you with a warm smile. Wendy, the store assistant is super friendly. The repair guys are great and I trust them completely with anything I have had to have repaired. If you want something special designed, Carl is your guy. He does beautiful work and doesn't rush doing the job. He works on it until he is completely satisfied with the finished product.
