My home solutions? More like my home disappointment. My boyfriend and I had Mike come out to give us a quote on our front porch, he gave us a great price which fit perfectly into our budget. While he was here he dropped several racial slurs stating that "blacks and spics don't pay". That was our very first red flag. He had promised my boyfriend that he would give us a proposal by two days time, it took a week and reminder phone calls from us to get the proposal. When finally Mike sent the proposal, he sent us a higher amount than discussed and different colored decking with no guarantee or warranty for the work. When questioned about this he told my boyfriend he was "too busy" and to "find another contractor". Be warned that this guy does not care about you and is proudly spewing racial slurs on your property. Horrible business, will never recommend. I feel terrible for anyone who works for this guy. I contacted Mike a few months back after finding his company's info on Google. We were able to set up a meeting very quickly and he immediately went to work figuring out the best solution for a leaky basement during heavy rains. We already had a basement system from another company, but it was often unable to keep up. Mike was always open and communicative about his thoughts and he came up with a solution that I believe will keep our basement dry. This consisted of some re-grading work outside, as well as an outdoor drainage system. He was able to get everything done quickly once we came to an agreement, and it was clearly done by someone with a ton of experience. Mike was eager to give me a quote for a front porch remodel. First impressions were that he is a nice, down to earth guy. That quickly changed. While he was at my home he made disparaging remarks about black and Hispanic people stating that they don't want to pay. He proudly dropped racial slurs as well. Below is an email sent to me by MIKE, owner of My Home Solutions, LLC, after I informed him that I, (not he), would handle my homeowners insurance claim, and after he expressed several profanities aimed at me. (I've decided not to use "My Home Solutions", obviously.) EMAIL FROM MIKE, OWNER OF "MY HOME SOLUTIONS, LLC". "Submit the first contract!!!!! Then you make a roof evaluation letter!!! Stating, because of this isolated insident (sic) now the roof will be different color, age and the warranty won't match nor will the house age at the same rate devaluing the house when it comes for sale. This is not the first time your insurance compony has this issue nor have I not gotten a full roof replacement!! I always get the insurance companies to insure the complete roof!! Always! Within a week!!! I think the problem is your bed side (sic) manners!! You are terrible to deal with!! Your (sic) a ass hold (sic) Mr smartie (sic) paints (sic). Take my advise (sic) and let a contractor deal with the insurance company Mr. I'm a (sic) ass hole (sic) lawyer." (And he's confused as to why I didn't call him back?) Unfortunately, I had to deal with my Mother having a stroke and a heart attack in Florida, so roofing wasn't really my priority. VOICEMAIL FROM MIKE AT "MY HOME SOLUTIONS, LLC": "Hey David, this is MIKE from "MY HOME SOLUTIONS". You had called me a couple of weeks ago to immediately go out and do an estimate for you, you wanted to get it done right away on your roofing, and you haven't even had the common courtesy or respect to even call me back, and say thank you, you'll review it. You just send me a nasty fucking text message saying that you're busy. I think you're a son of a bitch and a prick and you can go fuck yourself and I would never do business with an asshole like you, you old miserable fucking bastard. Go fuck yourself." For clarifying context, my text message stated" "I'm a busy person, I haven't looked at it yet." (Due to the fact that I was dealing with my Mother's issues.) Customer retention is apparently not his goal! I'd be very afraid to have any person exhibiting this kind of anger come to my home. Four years ago, I contacted Mike about my roof for my ranch home and a shed in the backyard. Unfortunately, the roof portion over my garage was sagging about 4 inches. Mike was the only contractor who knew how to correct the problem. He added larger support beams to solve the problem. None of the other contractors wanted to do any extra work. Hence, I hired Mike. Two sets of shingles were taken off my roof. Then, the sagged portion was corrected properly. Over 30 sheets of plywood had to be replaced because they were rotten. By the way, my elaborate landscaping was never ruined because Mike used a special mechanical lift that took away the debris and then, placed the bundles of roofing on my house. No other contractor had this device. Their method was covering the shrubs with drop cloths which never would have worked. My roof was meticulously installed adhearing to all the standards. I even received a 50 year GAF warranty. As of today, the roof looks great, as if it was just installed a month ago. Last week, Mike put a new roof on my second shed. Of course, it was an excellent job again. Mike is a perfectionist and really cares about his work. When he finishes, everything is spotlessly clean!
