Hello- a tech just left my house. The tech referred to me as renter. I let him know that I was the owner. He again said I was renting. I said no I am in fact the owner. He was in disbelief. This unfortunately is one in a line of sexist and racist assumptions I've had to deal with in finding vendors to work on my house. This happened around 9a so just a great experience to start my day. Started out a little dicey. A little communication difficulty but after that, the communication was great. I just had Ronan out to fix two very sticky (front) doors and to earthquake strap two pieces of furniture and he did a great job. Punctual. Courteous. Job done and well. I'd give him 5 stars. Then he gave me the price. For two hours of work* the total was pretty high. I was not provided a quote over the phone -- they needed to see the doors to see what might be wrong (I understand that it could have been a bigger fix so I thought that seemed fair). But the price seemed very unreasonable to me. I know we live in Los Angeles but damn! After I expressed my surprise at the price, Jonathan contacted me and we came to an agreement. That's good business. Make sure you get a quote for the job you're having done. *The fix for the doors was mostly scraping the paint and the wood so they would fit better. I'm not saying it wasn't hard and they shouldn't charge for it. But it wasn't reframing the doors, either. read more

LA Local Handyman not only did a terrible job installing a door in our home (shown in pics) but after I sent pics to Rami, the owner, for MONTHS he promised to come fix the botched job and complete other jobs he quoted me for. He never showed. 3 months total of excise after excuse, "From I'm moving" to "I hurt my finger" and texting a picture of his stitches, to "waiting for to hear back from the iron co for a quote..." always next week, next week. Only to ultimately text back and say he was "passing" on the project. He's dishonest, unreliable, and they just do bad work. Please look at pics and go elsewhere. I asked for a door to match our others which were white, with gold knobs, and standard framing. Instead they put in a beige door, silver knobs, and plywood painted white and not even smoothed or sanded for framing. It's honestly ridiculous. He even agreed which is why he promised to fix- but ultimately never did. Also, I should have known he had no intention of fixing the job the first day when he tried to get an extra $200 out of me for the cost of the door. He said the quote didn't include that cost, however I had specifically emailed and then called to make sure it did and his secretary assured me it was included. read more

I never comment on yelp, but this time I need to. Be careful of this company. The handyman that they sent out was very nice, but the main office did not inform him of what I needed. He did not bring a ladder to install drapes and I let the office know that I needed a special tool to do the installation and the installer did not have it. After an hour of the handyman trying to figure out how to do the job, he came to me and said he could not do the job and he was leaving. All he had to do is go get a 4 dollar tool from Home Depot. I have called the company 3 times after their guy left and they are not calling me back after I left messages. Not a company that I would recommend. read more

I called LA local handyman late afternoon on short notice seeing if it was possible to get someone over to my house to hang some mirrors, portraits and a couple of tv's to my walls asap, and 30 minutes later (literally faster than ordering a pizza) Franckieo was already in my apartment hanging everything up. Workers have done a fantastic job with our new house addition. Everyone was courteous and friendly to talk to and work with. They finished everything ahead of schedule while maintaining high quality work. Their communication was prompt, they were flexible and accommodating of our schedule. For example, the workers will only start making loud noises after we get up in the morning or when we are away from home. The best part was that they had carefully planned their work so that they can finish our new restroom before demonishing the only restroom we had. There was not a single day where we didn't have a restroom to use or place to shower in the 4 days of the construction. That saved a significantly amount of hassles for us. Throughout the addition, we also had to make some changes to the existing plan, estimator would always help us choose the most appropriate course of action. I called LA handyman at 945pm as my landlord did not have any emergency services over the weekend. My shower faucet knob was broken and i could not turn the water off. Bob came with his brother, who is his assistant in training. Bob was very persistant and didnt stop till the job was done. He even insisted on cleaning up the bathroom.
