After one particularly hefty week of long hours, my hips began to Shakira (not lie) and when they talk like that, they make a woman go mad. A coworker had previously given me his chiropractor's details but I'd never gone to a chiro before and was reluctant, but I needed to read the signs of my body. My coworker, a large man at a hulking 6ft 3, had raved about Breen, his chiropractor, so I was expecting to encounter a neanderthal the like of which not seen since icier times. This was not what I was met with. Up three levels off of Gawler Place in the city, I entered the calming, neoteric quarterage of Breen Chiropractic. After trying not to put my lower-back further out laughing at books of Far Side comics on offer in the waiting room, I was approached by a smallish man in crisp shirt and slacks and directed to a consulting room. This was the chiropractor? He did not look like what I had imagined, but this is possibly because his talents were well beyond my imaginings. After an initial consultation where he ran through safety concerns and listened to my tales of disjointed hips and shoulders, he directed me to the bed-like contraption by his desk, and that's where the magic happened. Not needing to change out of my clothes at all he manipulated and realigned everything with the assistance of his bed device and within about 4 minutes I was brand spanking new. Once let up from the bed everything felt immediately fantastic, and I even began to strut about like a deranged flamingo attempting to find where the pain had hidden itself. The man's a bone tamer, a soothing soothsayer of sinews. I have since been visiting Breen Chiropractic now and then and always emerge phoenix-like, a perfect and revitalized version of myself. Now typing this hunched over a computer atop my bed, I have arranged an appointment with Simon Breen of Breen Chiropractic for tomorrow. I can't wait! This chiro is perfecto.

Located in the now popular and trendy shopping precinct of Elizabeth Street he performs his skill daily and upon entering the clinic the smell of healing salves invades the olfactory but without knocking you out. The waiting room is basic but functional with enough seating and plenty to read whilst waiting and that in itself doesn't take too long. The other small rooms within have over time been filled with other health professionals offering services such as: massage, cupping, acupuncture, counselling, reiki and even herbs. Best to have private health cover otherwise can get pricey if you're going to be a regular. I've been wanting to try cupping for ages now and I feel the need to have it done...and soon!
