The best part was the backyard: beautiful quiet beach and warm clean pool. The waves were a little wild due to Hurricane Erin, but the beach was clean and mostly empty. Also spotted dolphins in the afternoon and on another day mid morning. This was unit 801. Lovely balcony overlooking pool deck and beach. The exterior o f the building is old and needs some love but inside the unit was clean and cozy. I would for sure stay here again.

At first, the peeling paint in the tub and on the balcony, as well as the water heater in the closet made me think we were in for a difficult stay. Nothing could be further from the truth. We loved our stay here. And honestly, for the price, it was easy to overlook some of the disrepair. Pros Easy access to beach Very very clean facility (yes, two verys) Stunning ocean views Clean pool and spa Walking distance to restaurants Grills available to BBQ Friendly housekeeping staff Kitchen fully stocked with everything you need! Did I mention how clean the fridge and stove were? Veteran parking! (Thank you for your service) Cons Maintenance staff was a little grumpy Pool/spa closes at dusk. Old man Smithers (maintenance) will stare angrily until you leave. (Other guests come back after he leaves for the day, we did not) Pool bathrooms are basically in the gym bathroom. They are no where near the pool. No in room laundry, but for about $5 a load there is a washer and dryer on the 5th floor. It is a timeshare, so they will try to get you to attend their presentation. (We did not) On Wednesday we remarked at how wonderful it was to sit on the couch listening to the waves, and how quiet it was...NEVER say that. Thursday night we got new neighbors who could not figure out how to close their door without slamming it, played loud music and talked over the loud music. We took a day trip Friday to get away from the noise, but someone must have complained because they were quiet Friday night. If you're not Daddy Warbucks, this is a wonderful place to spend a few days.

AND…read moreit's in OBS (Ormond by the Sea) which is much quieter than Ormond or Daytona Beach which are within 2 & 6 miles from each other. They are a small and quaint condo RIGHT ON THE BEACH. The prices for a large or small unit that have kitchens, 1 or 2 bedrooms with bath are not astronomical like other places. Did I mention that there is no driving on this part of the beach so you can sunbathe, relax, have your kids play here without the pressure of someone running you over. Wow, the updates and upgrades are continuing to improve The hurricanes haven't slowed them down The Cam and General Managers are dynamite. They work perfectly with the great staff. This "Timeshare" also continues as a hotel so you can call them for reservations or even better, go on Expedia where you can get excellent deals The staff as I mentioned, are incredible. Most of them have worked together as a well oiled machine for years. (This tells you something when there aren't any turnovers with staff) Owners that come year after year are extremely satisfied with care of their condos and even themselves. Again, they treat you like family. What I love about the newly experienced staff is when/if something isn't right they will IMMEDIATELY fix any problems that happens to occur. They continue to have staff and owners meetings once a week You can come in on Wednesdays, have coffee and donuts and express any problems or just tell them they are doing a great job They will tell you about the makeover and improvements that they are making for your stay to be as memorable They want you to have the best experience you want while enjoying your vacation. The Management, staff AND the maintenance is professional & understand the need to relax, have family parties, reunions & cater to your enjoyment while you are staying there. Did I mention they are RIGHT on the beach? YES, walk outside your door, past their clean well cared for pool, and onto this side of beach which is WITHOUT cars driving NOW, I didn't know I had to explain this but just like ANY condo, hotel, motel and resort Ocean FRONT and Ocean VIEW are NOT the same Ocean FRONT means walk out the door or balcony and you see the ocean Ocean VIEW means you will be able to have a view of the ocean . We were right next to the meet location and a walkable distance to the pier and beach. The accommodations themselves were superb and the host, David, went above and beyond to make sure our family felt at home. We had some crazy things happen during our stay (none of which was the fault of the host) and David was nothing short of the best host I have come across in my time using air bnb. From being readily available and welcoming, David and his family were a blessing to ours. When we come back to Daytona Beach for whatever reason, we know exactly who to go to first! A few more positive notes, the whole accommodation was clean when we arrived, the beds were well made and comfortable to sleep our family of 5, the kitchen was well equipped, and the bathrooms were spotless. Workmen who didn't speak English were on our balcony often trying to repair the crumbling exteriors and balconies. We were unable to have an unobstructed view of the ocean because of the very large forklift which often was parked right outside of our window. No, the landlord, Carol Rogers, did not inform us prior to our rental that all this repair work was going to be going on. When we tried to cancel our reservation she refused to refund a month's rent which cost us $2800. I would NEVER rent from this person ever again.

Theresa runs that slide like a well-oiled machine -- she takes safety seriously, keeps the line moving efficiently, and somehow still manages to be incredibly kind and friendly to everyone. Even our kids noticed and commented on how she made the slide fun while still keeping everyone safe and organized. Every day when we came down to the pool area, she was a smiling, positive presence and truly went above and beyond just "doing her job." Employees like Theresa make a huge difference in the guest experience. We come here every year for our annual trip, and we are really hoping she's still here next year. She is truly a breath of fresh air and an asset to this resort.

It was adequately stocked with towels and kitchen supplies. We were in the south tower and enjoyed our side balcony view of the beach. Parking spots are tight and once you find one, everything is in walking distance. The pools and slide were clean and patrolled regularly by security.
