My Favorite Place sits directly on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Chamblee and is just a stones throw away from a variety of other consignment/antique stores. However, what makes My Favorite Place different is that they are more flea market than consignment/antique store, and this is something that they fully embrace and own! We have popped into My Favorite Place a couple of times over the years in search of things we never knew we needed. MFP is a treasure trove of used items ranging from trinkets to furniture that are stacked from wall to wall and floor to ceiling, they even have pieces outside lining the sidewalk. To go back to the "flea market" comment, that is truly what the items here are. The store feels like one big yard sale with majority of the items simply being used and old, not really antiques or collectibles. Due to this and the way things are stacked and shelved, a lot of items are pretty beat up. They have a solid selection of furniture pieces, but again they are chipped and worn. If you are after furniture and plan to finish it yourself, then MFP is a solid option for you! Prices are fair and decent for everything in here, even the furniture. The pricing reflects the condition, so again if you are a DIY-er, then you can really find some great deals and good pieces here. Overall, My Favorite Place is a combination of over and underwhelming. Overwhelming in the way of volume of items, haphazard organization and stocking and underwhelming in the condition of items. It's amazing what you can find in this place. I started coming here before I even moved to ATL and yes it's one of my favorite place to look around. The prices are low and the furniture is stacked high. Lamps, artwork, glassware, China, cutlery, and so much more. After taking the tree down I decided I needed an entry table with drawers. Ummmmm...Your patience will be rewarded....or not. This is not the spot for Type A personalities looking for specific sections where your particular brand of treasure is displayed. Blue hairs, hipsters, college students, and the upper crust wander this massive maze. on the hunt for both antiquities and uniquities!! It's kinda like your MeMaw and Pop Pop's basement, where you're just as likely to find an old doll head as you are the skeleton of some poor possum that got trapped long ago. Great location, ample parking. The prices here are great and if it's furniture you want they have plenty of it. Unlike other antique stores around town this is not well organized or well kept. Everything is stacked on top of each other leading to scratches and chipped pieces. If your willing are able to refinish your self then you should definitely stop and shop. read more

I have a couple of visits here in the past year looking for specific items. It's like a huge garage sale in that most of the stuff is junk no one wants but you can also find some gems. Sadly, each time my quest came up empty. But I had fun looking! Some of the stalls and passageways are so filled with stuff it's hard to negotiate, particularly if you encounter traffic. Although I walked out empty handed, this place still gets a four star. They have so so so much stuff! Most of it are really interesting, and some are just regular knick knacks. I saw a dining set table for so cheap, I almost wanted to buy it even though I don't have any need for it. Anyway, you can definitely spend a good hour or two in this place. I've known about My Favorite Place for a couple years, but hadn't actually gone in before; it took going with a friend to really get me to. I didn't end up walking out with anything since I didn't really need anything I'd seen, but it was pretty cool. When walking up, there's mounds of character furniture outside, along with some other knick-knacks. When I'd entered, I was in semi-awe. My friend's ire with the place was -- and it seems to be a consistent trend -- that they have no organization. One will find one thing in one part of the store, two more things like it in another, and then three more in yet a third. And then one more of it under something. I'd looked at it like a serendipity shop: one comes in wandering and wondering what one might find, and may have some glee/amazement when one happens on it. It surprised me when I'd come across, for example, original Nintendo game cartridges (I actually have the original unit, still XD); an elementary Adobe Illustrator guide, in full Japanese; and a crate full of license plates (the ones I'd seen mostly being from Oklahoma, for some reason). I'd gone leafing through the numerous books they have, some on shelves, and then one almost "dumping table" where one can go akin to DVD bin-diving. I'd seen lamps that I'd have a concern for electrocution (but I'm sure a lot of the little old devices that are here are partly for hobbyists wanting to play with them or restore them). They have an alcove room as one enters and to the left that I'd just about missed where my friend ended up finding a sizable Cuisinart food processor (they will test it for you if you ask) with two additional blades and one more apparatus we weren't sure even belonged to it. They didn't know either, but threw it in anyway. Between those, a Christmas recipe book, and a glass casserole dish, he'd paid $16-ish for the lot, including the discount. read more

I've adventured in thrift stores across America and this one is, without a doubt, one of the very best. There's no unifying theme here -- it's not a kitsch shop, or a hipster boutique, or an antiques-only place. They have west African ritual masks, trench art, bins of black-and-white photos, the obligatory handful of Hummels, beautiful furniture, rusty old hand tools... Everything. Objets d'art and misc stuff, neatly displayed side by side. I'm a junker kind of thrifter, I admit. Give me rows and rows of unorganized objects and books, over a neat, tidy room any day. That is exactly the type of place this is, so don't expect clean and dust-free browsing. I love this place, though. Because you really can find some great stuff--if you're willing to paw through a lot of booths first. I usually spend a few hours here when I come, since there are so many booths, and the turnover rate for new stuff is pretty high. I feel like a lot of people come through here, which means new merch is always afoot. The first time I came here, I got a fantastic 1920s cloche hat for less than $10 (there were a few loose threads, but hey, I didn't mind), and a beautiful dress from the 1950s. The second time I came here, I nabbed a vintage film reel for a friend's birthday, as well as a beautiful portable bar set (that was complete) from roughly around the 60s-70s that sold on Etsy for twice the price of what I got it here for. I also got some sweet 1950s soda shop cardboard decals and some expired stock certificates for a brewery in the 50s. I mean, there really is so much stuff here. PROS: -Tons of booths, with different things. It usually takes me a couple of hours to go through things here. -Knowledgeable staff! Which seems kind of crazy, considering the amount of stuff here. I was looking for something related to vintage film, and they were able to take me to a booth with something that ended up being perfect. -They seem to constantly be getting new things in. -Right down the street from my house! Not even a 5 minute drive. CONS: -Pricing is done independently from each booth, so sometimes you'll find great deals, and exuberant pricing. -It's junky, which I like, but clearly a lot of things aren't touched for months (years?), and they get dusty and generally filthy. -Parking is pretty cramped, since they share their lot with a few other stores. I've come here when I literally took the last spot. THE VERDICT: You'll find a few booths with clothes, a bunch with dishes, but also furniture, books, knick knacks, etc. I think this would be an excellent place to go if you're doing a movie or something and looking for some props from different eras that aren't crazy expensive. It's definitely a great place if you're looking for a unique gift for a friend or loved one. They like beer? Get them a stock certificate from the 50s for an old brewery. They're really into cooking? Grab a vintage kitchen utensil circa 1925. Really into fine China? There's plenty here. It's huge, well-stocked with everything you never knew you needed, and always busy. read more

Well, step into "My favorite Place" and you'll spend the next several hours exploring all the odds and ends that only a multi-vendor antique and used goods warehouse can offer! A few tips before you embark on this adventure: 1. Don't go in with something in mind. You won't find it. However, you WILL find about thirty other items you need (and by "need", I mean don't need at all, but really want... and where else are you going to find it, after all?) 2. Pick up, move and look under things. I'll admit, there isn't much organization here- items are kind of just stacked twenty feet tall... everywhere. But some of my best finds have been at the back of a shelf behind an old cuckoo clock. 3. Don't get overwhelmed. I know it's hard... just take a breath and move on to the next row of treasure. 4. Don't let one high price push you out the door. Yes, there are going to be a few high-ticket items, but there are just as many (if not more) bargain deals to be found! My Favorite Place is a flea market and/or thrift store located on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Chamblee, and as the name suggests, it's definitely one of my favorites in city. I discovered this place shortly after moving to Atlanta due to it being very close to my apartment, and I've spent many mornings and afternoons here sorting through piles of assorted books, antiques, movie memorabilia, and more. This place is quite large and largely unorganized, so I'd recommend putting aside at least an hour if you're planning a visit. However, if you're patient and persistent, you're bound to find some unique things on the cheaper side that might be hard to find elsewhere. Each of the items I've purchased from here have been awesome, my favorite being an actual-sized reprint of Picasso's "Guernica", which came in a beautiful white frame and in relatively pristine condition - for only ninety dollars. It's been years since I first purchased it, and I still enjoy it immensely. I'd definitely recommend MFP for those adventurers ready to go on a thrifty journey! read more

This place is absolutely insane. We're in the process of moving to a new apartment, so we decided to stop by this place one Sunday afternoon. There is stuff everywhere. I'm pretty sure if you looked long enough, you could find almost anything here. There's art, furniture, kitchen equipment...seriously everything. While we didn't come away with anything on this particular visit, I'm almost certain we'll be back. Be prepared to spend a good amount of time just sifting through all the treasures this place has to offer. Prices were decent, although some things were very much overpriced. I went into My Favorite Place thinking what treasures I might find, and I wasn't less than amazed. My boyfriend found, and purchased, a vintage-y metal lunch box - "I'm a Pepper too!" from Dr. Pepper. It's awesome. I treasure it. Less than $6, even! N// not really my favourite place. Service/owners are not friendly and not really willing to deal save for the normal 10%. They have a real attitude at the front counter. From the older lady to the other guys, theyre not very customer oriented. I guess they dont have to be courteous or nice when you see so many people come in. Haven't been able to find anything really in the last few months and now just plain quit going. Hard to look at the same thrift store overpriced stuff every month that hasn't moved. Talk about hoarding - in a good way! So many antique and new items lurk in tightly fitted aisles in this place. It's a total treasure trove of awesome, with everything from books to games to furniture to glassware to old radios on sale. If it's not here, chances are it was never invented... Everything is relatively cheap, too. I wound up with books this time as I was on mission, but it was difficult to exercise restraint. It seems like there are a lot of sellers in here. You have to browse the whole store, or ask someone for help if you're looking for something specific. Otherwise, you'll see repeats of stuff in all corners of the place. Have fun browsing / digging! FILE CABINETS They have a lot of file cabinets throughout the store, all different conditions. I was looking for one and didn't want to deal with Craigslist so this was perfect. CHINA WARE Wow, the china is pretty awesome. I found loads of full sets, tea sets, glassware, and all are in great shape. CHAIRS Not the best upholstery but I was surprised how well the chairs were kept. read more

My wife has a great booth there with items we find, clean and restore. We try to be fair in pricing items so that dealers can still get a mark up and shoppers will still get a bargain. Movie set people almost always find something for their production. My advice to shoppers: There are 25 dealers that sell there, if you find one area or prices that you don't like, walk to the next area, that's how "flea market" stores work. Don't be afraid to ask for the "best price" if you really like something! Even before we started selling there, this was one of my very favorite places to shop for unique items. MFP is the best! It's a family owned & run Business started by a gifted man,Bob McGraw. He recently passed away but his wife and sons are carrying on the family business. Love this place. This and a Classy Flea in Marietta are my two favorite spots to thrift in the area. I have found some great things here. A bunch of awesome coffee table books. Knick nacks to decorate the guest room. They have a bunch of furniture that I priced a little higher than at a Classy Flea, but it is all nice. The reason I took off one star is because it can be overwhelming. Lots of tight corners and things stacked up high. For every good thing you find, there are about ten random and weird things. But you usually stand a pretty good chance of finding something great if you are willing to look. read more

A word of caution--there is no such thing as a "quick run" to My Favorite Place... It was STUFFED! There are so many things in there. And it's all old, nothing new. The youngest item I saw was a radio from 1991, and even it had a twinge of retro style! They also have a unique way of packing thousands of items in there, like a library-esque hall of aisles and cabinets(which are also for sale). It's very nice, and very cost friendly. There are vintage, unopened bottles of coke, foreign items, dress patterns (20 for 1$), suitcases, tins, metal trays and even instruments WITH a case. We found a trumpet, guitar and flute! It's like Narnia. Take your time and you will not leave the store without bringing something with you. read more

Place was very junky and somewhat disorganized with all kind of oddities and very cramped rows of endless junky trinkets. The staff really didn't bother me or even ask if needed assistance. Tge furniture was stacked on top of each other areas of store had so much stuff could not even walk thru certain areas. All in all my kinda store because prices were reasonable not like most upscale thrift stores were items cost more the originally retailed saw several pieces of furniture would have love to get if we were not from out of town. I feel bad any time I give less than a stellar review but in all honesty this place just didn't wet my whistle. High prices for a lot of unsorted stuff. There are some gems certainly but for the random crowded aisle after aisle of not great stuff it's just not worth the search. I picked up something from the sale items out front and at check out it was 50¢ off! There's not even a ¢ symbol ON a keyboard anymore! It was a bit silly really. I've always liked the *idea* of antique stores, but they've always seemed too ... dull. This place is much more interesting. Everything is sort of...crammed in there - Like looking through the attic of someone who has lived a long and fruitful life. You can find all sorts of cool things if you look closely! Although, it can get a bit cramped. I found an oil painting here that looked surprisingly modern\abstract - I purchased it immediately and expect to keep this painting for the rest of my life. I wish I knew who the artist was... Unfortunately, they're probably a nameless amateur or dead. You really can find some cool things here. But, don't expect to find something to take home every time you visit the place. Coming to a store like this isn't a mission, it is a journey. Therefore, your mileage may vary. The people at the counter seem a bit stuffy, but seemed to cheer up when they saw how happy I was with what I found. I think they're just used to dealing with other old, stuffy people. There was some mean looking old lady behind the counter - Not sure what she's doing there... I'm not sure she knows either. She just seemed to glare around judgmentally. I feel like I ruined her life by accidentally meeting her gaze. There tends to be lots of attractive, younger people (male and female) browsing through the store too. This place is Goodwill on a steroid/meth concoction... If you are interested in digging through endless junk to find some great bargains, this is your place. They have anything and everything you can imagine as far as home decor goes. And I think they have every decade of the 20th century covered as well. If you're looking for an ash tray from the 60's, you will find it. Crazy table from the 70's, you will find it. This was not my cup of tea, but for what this place is, it's safe to say it's great. Meh- I got through the place in less than 30 minutes and left empty handed. For the record that is unusual. Some vintage clothing ( a rack or two) but no high end labels. Lots of wall art but nothing to write home about. Most of the stuff that interested me was oddly..blocked off. I considered scaling the barricade but in the end decided that the juice just wasn't worth the squeeze. Pricing varies depending on the item. Some things are priced well and some..some just aren't.
