Pre-Covid, or around two+ years ago, i switched from a decent dentist of a decade; to the dental team at My Dentist for discounted cash pricing, the then older reasonable reception staff and the dentist (one of two) all seemed top notch. 2021-New staff. Lots of problems. Prices raised. Not giving itemized receipts showing discounts, and unprofessional behavior by staff both on phone and in person. Refusing to return phone calls seems very common to them, as well as several hour lunches, making the customer wait!
Then: Had a crown seated by an actual dentist and a cavity filled my first visits, zero issues, paid bills upon leaving premises both times.
Now: On June 3, 2021 I had a crown seated by the tech, not the dentist, and I told her, will omit name, that the bite was off. The dentist came and i told him the bite was off also and i know my teeth at 53; and it was hurting to close down, I was told the pain may go away. Nothing was done to try and fix my complaint on a nearly 1500 repair that HAD to be paid at end of appointment, per usual. I was unable to chew for 4 days and on June 7 while on vacation appx 1k miles away in SC for my birthday no less, the opposite side molar came off due to the strain of not being able to chew on the right side ...where the crown was not seated properly!! 4 days! Pathetic!
Upon arriving home 7 days later I went to another dentist the very next day and they took X-rays and said clearly my (the) bite was off. I called My Dentist and let them know i had my own X-rays and that their not fixing bite/crown seating had created a second issue. I was told to come in, free of charge vs letting the new dentist have my business, and the dentist himself would "fix". Btw sadly he is a great guy, just being let down by a horrific billing and staff department who call his customers liars and make up bills out of thin air.
He had to " scale" down the crown his tech has put on several times (sanding) to fix the bite, which is admittedly better now, just don't understand why they didn't the day of!! Why was i not listened to at onset? Why was it not sanded to fit that day or were they just too busy?
All problems would have been solved! He was able to attach the crown on molar that came off due to pressure, and a month later it is still holding. Thought ok -will still give them a chance of another nearly 1500 the end of month. Nope. 3 days ago i receive a 90$+ email bill from MD for charges from that day! After the last months blunders, unprofessional front office, bills after the fact that were told verbally by both the tech and a check out receptionist no charge, and i paid nothing leaving, lies told, and techs doing work the dentist himself should probably be doing according to two other local dentists!
At the end the buck stops with billing and Camille who never returned my concerned call making me have to show up at the MD office, could answer no questions. 0. If you pay your bill every time at the end of session, per usual, had their even BEEN a charge I would have received it that day before leaving! And paid it even! Her only retort after 15 minutes of condescending double speak in the front lobby no less was that she would send me to collections. Really. $500 to collect $90+ what a joke.
I am sorry to all my friends, associates, elderly and veterans who i have referred this company to the last year , please do not. Their behavior unacceptable!
Will be filing with BBB on Monday and hope the office gets customer service training and new leader. The dental techs were kind, dentist funny, but staff a -1 star. I have found a dentist today who is several hundred dollars cheaper and was dismayed with the staffs attitude and deceit. I am 53 and retired Naval family so felt compelled to let other seniors or veterans know the way they too may get treated.
Fortunately i have the money to pay for the damage they did. Many are not so lucky. Beware. Unreliable and untrustworthy. read more
