After charging us in advance for the procedure, we entered the treatment room, where I was informed that parents could not stay with their child during the procedure, and I was taken to the reception area. Less than 20 minutes later, Dr. Byron came out to tell me she would not proceed with the treatment because my daughter was crying and she did not want to "traumatize her." I went to where my daughter was, where they were attempting to administer the gas anesthesia. She was crying and trembling. Dr. Byron informed me that the procedure fee would be waived, but we would still be charged $150 for the anesthesia, despite it not taking effect and never being fully administered since the process was stopped. My question is: what experienced doctor working with children doesn't realize that a young child might cry in this situation, especially if separated from her mother? Why proceed with administering anesthesia if the child is crying and there's a chance the procedure cannot be completed? My experience with Dr. Byron was completely lacking in compassion and professionalism, especially where a minor is concerned. Perhaps other parents have had positive experiences, but mine was a disaster. The only thing she handled well was the initial payment. However, if you're looking for a healthcare professional who will treat your child with care and show respect to the family, I DO NOT recommend Dr. Dharma Byron. She still has a lot to learn in that regard.

TL/DR Disclosure, I got tackled playing football when I was about 7 or 8 and dental repairs in the 80's were not as advanced as they are now. After more sore throats than a healthy adult should be getting, my primary doctor recommended I see a oral surgeon to find the cause. So after almost 30+ years, it ended up that I needed to come to Dr. Navarro to help remodel my smile. I came to Dr Navarro for the convenience that his office is close to my job, and I like to keep my PTO for fun stuff be it attending a rave or an extra cash out check at the end of the year. During my first visit, I had a full dental exam including a 3D xray of my mouth. He confirmed that one tooth would have to be removed and that I'll need a bone graft before looking handsome again. Based on the complexity of the procedure he gave me prescriptions for antibiotic, a medicated mouthwash and pain pills to start the day before the procedure. The operating room wasn't closed in, but had a view of the Miami Lakes cow field. Office music was poppy instead of "cortavena" sappy. The pain was as expected from anything dental, but his staff was pleasant and attentive during the procedure and in followup. I would definitely recommend him.
