I continued to have discomfort walking and lacked the energy I thought I should have. At the urging of my podiatrist, I scheduled an appointment with Modern Vascular and met (Dr.) Jodi Rowlett wow what a little spitfire and a straight shooter. She tells it like it is. After an ultrasound, she seriously recommended I go to Laser Vein Center (Her reason for wanting further analysis and diagnosis was to make sure there was nothing in the veins that would cause problems with the artery procedures.) I did and I met Dr. Kim (he was great and did a couple of procedures on my veins). Then back a few weeks later to Modern Vascular. Then it was January and I had my first appointment with the Modern Vascular Surgery Center. Pearl is a welcoming greeter/front office well-organized individual (5 Stars to Pearl) I have not met a doctor like Dr. Patel. He is such an amazing patient caring doctor. He took the time to sit, and explain everything about the angiogram procedure into depth to me. Following the procedure, he met with my husband and explained the findings and what he did. I want to commend the staff they have at the Glendale location. The nurses (Nick, Nicki, Andy ) made me feel comfortable the minute we met. They are professional and respected my personal dignity. They also explain the procedure in much detail and reconfirmed what Dr. Patel had told me. I want to thank two nurses I saw the most in my 3 appointments there. They are Nick and Nicki, two very kind, pleasant and exceptional nurses who work like a well trained tag-team. BEWARE OF SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!! I was told on 5 separate…read moreoccasions that my insurance pre authorized the procedures and I wouldn't need to make any payments. 15 minutes before my last procedure, the front office lady called and canceled my appointment, said insurance denied everything, now I owe thousands of dollars and they will not complete the plan of care until it's paid in full. I spoke to Dr. S about this and he said he would send in a letter of medical necessity and proceed with the plan of care. Despite the Dr telling me directly to make the appointment, the front office lady refused. I called my insurance and they said they never received anything from the drs office. When I called this office to ask for the billing department, they hung up on me and when I called back they sent me to voicemail. When I kept calling, they said there is not a phone number to reach billing. What kind of doctors office doesn't allow patients to contact the billing department? Lawyers are involved.
