It's difficult to express the pleasure we have with our newly renovated/installed floors by Woody's. We have ~850 Sq Ft of Brazilian Cherry Wood flooring, which after 18 years was certainly worn and tired. We additionally wanted to add ~200 sq ft of additional flooring, woven into the existing floor, to run down our hallway. Another MAJOR desire for us, to try and tone down the red color in the floors. After lots of research, the only way we could find to minimize the red was to either bleach the wood, which sounds like no fun, or go darker with the stain. Going darker wasn't our first choice, but ultimately decided to go that direction. We choose "Antique Brown" stain after being presented with 6 different stain choices and two different sheen options. The Antique Brown was great for us, it wasn't too dark, a nice warm brown that still, in changing lighting throughout the day, very subtlety shows then conceals the red. We also decided to go with a matte finish over the satin. Our previous flooring was high gloss and it showed EVERY SINGLE MARK, especially in our well lit living/dinning/kitchen. . . the Matte is the extreme opposite, but it made the floors look more natural and will hopefully help conceal the wear into the future. As for Woodys. . . The pandemic has thrown a bit of a wrench into some of the process. Their shop is only open and/or returning calls a couple of days of the week because they have been super slow. I kinda get it, but then again, don't. If your business is slow, then wouldn't you be jumping on calls?!? IDK, it was a minor gripe is all. We solicited three specific bids and called five different flooring companies. Nearly every one talked about how slow they were and yet, of the five we called. . . two never got back with us to schedule a quote and the three that did, including Woodys, took weeks from the initial call to actually receiving the quote. Woody's quote was the most expensive. . . by $3. Yup, THREE DOLLARS. The last quote we received came in two days after we had decided on Woody's and while it was $100'ish less, it took them 17 days to get us a quote. What really sealed it for us was Baltazar, the project manager. He was the easiest going of the estimators we met with, was open to trying different things to get us what we wanted. Day one of the refinishing was a bit uncertain due to the lack of communication from the shop, but we ultimately were worried for no reason. Baltazar showed up, with a flooring specialist (aka worker) Monday morning around 9 AM. I never got the worker dude's name, he spoke little English, which made our conversations brief and broken over the course of the week. If I needed to get any thoughts across I was encouraged to reach out to Baltazar who could help with the translation, but we are really easy going and remained confident and trusting of their work. The initial estimate was 4 days to complete, but given the difficulty finding the Brazilian Cherrywood plank sizes, things slowed down on day two, so the project took 5.5 days to complete. As for the effort and quality of the work. . . OH MY HELL! A week later and I am still stunned at the amount of effort that went into these floors. Weaving the new planks into the old flooring alone is spectacular, you would have no idea the floors weren't always in place. The undercutting of the baseboards to avoid having to remove/replace them. The hand carving of plank edges that butt up against tile flooring. Addressing squeaking sections of flooring. Removing and reattaching items like air intake covers and stove securing braces. Ripping out the carpet and laying it up against the new wood. Working from 9 AM to nearly 10 PM on one day. . . It was absolutely astounding the amount of effort that went into these floors. It was worth every single penny. Thank you Woody's, we will forever be thankful and appreciative!

I thought maybe the date was wrong, so I waited a week till the next Wednesday, but no contact. I called back to see what was wrong. The person on the phone was very friendly and professional, apologized, and said she could have a Proj Mgr out that same day. Awesome. She said, "Let me check the schedule and I'll call you back." Never heard from them again. I checked for missed calls and messages, nothing. That was nearly a week ago, and I started to call a third time, but how can I count on them to show up for the work if I can't get them to show up to even try for the job? I can't speak about the qualify of their work because I never got that far, but I've had to move on to another company just to get a quote for the job. I like to leave five-star reviews for those who do work for me, and I'm jealous of the people who got to leave five stars, because I really needed this done and relied on those other reviews as an indication of their quality. It's the first one-star I've ever had to leave, and that star is for the friendliness of the person on the phone. I am disappointed in my experience with Woody's.

I have been using Underfoot Flooring since to fix the wrongs. Deborah in scheduling is always on her game and helpful even when clearly busy. I had a disposal leak the day before I was scheduled to be away. I trust Underfoot so much, I had zero trepidation and only gratitude when Deborah was able to get Nate, a fantastic wood professional to come by and access the damage. Nate went above and beyond to make sure my house was safe while I was away. He even went and bought replacement batteries for one of his tools to measure moisture and returned to my house to look at floor content. He then went into the crawl space to check for water. Nate is another five star employee. Who really showed genuine concern and the ultimate professional. Matt is just as dedicated. He is working with me to replace and refinish. His knowledge and experience is vast. I appreciate how flexible and committed he is to providing the best product and working with my concerns. I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Natay Construction and their "process". We need…read morea full renovation of our primary bathroom. I was nervous that Natay was the only contractor that asked me for money upfront in an hourly rate to create a plan and get bids for the bathroom. They gave me an initial estimate and then months and months later I finally get the "real" estimate for the bathroom which was almost 2X the initial estimate! The plan, materials, and layout had not changed at all.* We did not run into any hurdles that would have made the cost increase.  Process Made Me Feel Trapped: By the time I had gotten the proposal, the "hourly" hours billed was nearly double what I had agreed to and when I saw all of these bloated prices from subs, I was too nervous to wrack up more billable hours to have Eric go back and get better prices. I think this is the goal of their "process" - to make you feel like you are so far down the rabbit hole when you see this crazy number that you just give in.  No "Connections" with Subs: Now that I am getting my own quotes on the pieces of this project, all of the subs that Eric wanted to use were easily double the cost (not including the contractor fees) of the prices I am getting on my own (as a woman who knows nothing about construction). I thought the purpose of a contractor is that they know the right people to work with and know a reasonable price...  Extremely Slow: Getting answers from Eric was extremely slow. We started in February and I was originally supposed to have the whole project complete by early June. I didn't even get the 2X proposal until end of May. There were 6.5 weeks where I heard nothing back and had to reach out to Eric for an update multiple times. There was another time that I asked for one minor change and didn't hear back for 2 weeks. I was so hopeful that I found a trustworthy contractor to help with our house projects, but my experience with Natay was just a waste of time and money. After raising these concerns, I asked for a refund of my upfront money. Eric stopped responding and someone else from the team said no.  * This is TMI, but the upfront billable hours did increase due to looking into projects beyond the initial bathroom. Eric kept encouraging me that I would "save money" by doing all these other house projects at one time. The bill for all those things was like 4X the original price. I then asked for him to take everything out and see just the bathroom so I could compare apples to apples (just the bathroom was almost a full 2X more than the initial quote for just the bathroom).
